That Exorcist looks pretty cool Cain. On that last picture I thought you'd added wings/horns to the helmet for a moment

OK, the exorcist is finally completed. I am very pleased with him and just in case anyone asks, I am not doing and army of them! The amount of mixing and blending would drive most insane

Note the use of spot colours for the eyes, pommel and leaves on the shield.

You missed a shoulder pad. Other than that it looks awesome and so beautiful.

He is a deathwatch marine and the person I painted it for is going to put in on later.

22 days till my 17th birthday and I smell a lot of 40k coming!

I am thinking of buying the GW shadowsword. Will all the parts magnetize well? I have seen that there are a lot of different variants and would like to have them interchangeable.

Happy birthday in a month. I remember when I turned 17... was able to go to r-rated movies without sneaking into them. And the Shadowsword, I'm pretty sure I've seen people very easily make the cannon changeable, as well as being able to swap the cannon with the mega-bolter, though of course the shadowsword and mega-bolter are pretty much the best variants, imo. But, yours is yours, so I'd say it's worth a shot.

Cain, can't help but notice the skull on the shoulderpad looks like it's only had a basecoat. Is it just the photo?

Yeah, it is a very pale highlight and the camera does not pick up bright colours that well (not that I can fix it because it is already shipped and on its way home )

An update? With pics! Exams are done and dusted so I got straight back to doing what I love best, chopping things up and then painting the resultant figure

The gun is a infernus pistol from the BA death company with an 'ornament' from the DA set for the shooty bit

Okay, here is the new paint scheme for my IG. Green cloth with a battle damaged white armour.

The cloth was basecoated orkhide shade, washed with scorched brown, highlighted with catachan green, then given a small highlight of graveyard earth and kommando khaki.
The armour was basecoated with astronomican grey, given a coat of 50/50 astronomican grey and skull white, and then weathering was added with a sponge and brown paint. Finally I added a very thinned down wash of brown ink to blend it all together. (Credit for the armour recipe goes to sons of orar from his tutorial a while back)

Enough talk! Here are the pics







Any suggestions for improvement are welcomed! After all, I have another 44 troops to paint this colour (not including any I may get for my B day )

that white is contrasting badly with the excelent job you did on the camo style green. I beg you to get rid of that white.

the dammage looks very realistic, are you going to do freehand decals on the shoulder

Okey dokey, here is the altered armour colour. Three successive washes of vermin brown, scorched brown and catachan green. Then, after it has dried, rub away some of the more exposed pieces of armour. IMO the colour is fantastic, maybe a little too battle damaged to be realistic as it looks like it has been buried in the ground for a few years
However this is 40k and who knows what could have led to the armour being in that state.








I also tried out another colour scheme but I am not sure I like it that much. But the pics are taken so here you go...

Forgot to say, Blackhand- the terrain will be trench mud I think (same as the scout sentinel)

Neil101- I have yet to think of a good troop symbol but you will be the first to know

ooh they are both very nice ,i think the yellow and green look more striking but the dusty brown white , looks more original.
why not have both? officors i yellow troopers in white
