Tried some more flames on the warbosses cloth. This time it is black with yellow flames (after a suggestion from Monkeytroll) No pics of it yet as the camera has vanished into the warp for a bit. But I found a close-up of the face (I hate macro! All those little mistakes really show up )



Working on another DKoK sentinel, this time a scout with converted beam cannon. ATM it is broken up into a million pieces because I dropped it off my desk I might do a little tutorial on weathering when I have the camera back

( I know this was a bit of a "I will do this" post, but I can't have you thinking I am slacking off just because I have a dozen English projects to finish for friday

That is looking great! I love the detailing, especially how his mouth has turned out. Very nice.

Made some big progress on the sentinel yesterday. I am a bit stuck on what to do for the top because the cage that normally goes on top has been used for other things. How can I make it look like a scout?

Yeah, that puffyness probably has something to do with 5 coats of paint

hey, great log. I love the blue flames on your damned leigon trooper. With regard to the sentinel, you could always make a custom cage from wire or with some paperclips etc, then make some camo netting out of bandage and pva glue over the top?

Good plan! I had not thought of using paperclips, and I might try the bandage idea also!

Really cool! I love everything. Can you do a tut on your 15 min. tyranids? I don't have any sm helmets, but I have a buttload of csm helmets if you want them. Just pm me and I'll send them over.

Thanks guys! I have so many projects on the go that I never know what to work on and I just keep getting more! Only yesterday, porkuslime's company champion arrived for me to paint

Just wait till my birthday and Christmas (both in December) I shall be busy for the rest of the year at this rate

Been busy chopping things up and finding new ways to put them together as usual!

I felt like making a better commander for my troops and as my massive teriminator 'primarch' has not arrived (or been purchased ) this is my commander for now



I am also working on porkuslime's exorcist for his deathwatch.

hmmmm.. looks pretty dang nice. I concur that the head choice you made looks best. I can't wait to see what you do to the backpack and shield.

The backpack is the AOBR sarge backpack minus the aquila, btw.

Genestealer tut is up and running (after having a massive fight with the Dakka uploader )

After base coating the figure in black spray, apply Merchrite red to the skin and blue ink to the armour (the ink that I use is good because it has a shiny quality that is good for tyranids)



Highlight armour with enchanted blue and wash the skin with brown ink.



Then give the armour a careful highlight of ice blue and overbrush the skin with blood red



As I was running low on my time limit (15 mins) I quickly put some yellow on the eyes and white on the teeth to break up the face.



After all this is done you can highlight the claws with fortress grey and patch up the armour with some more blue ink. Similar techniques can be used on various other tyranids (the ones in this pic have not had their skin done as well)



Never lose the recipe for painting figures. I have made myself a page of different paints (nicknamed 'the scroll of knowledge')

Thanks! The highlighting is better than in the pics (although they don't look too bad) I am planning on doing some freehand somewhere on the model

(this guys crest is bone white so is a little hard to see)

good stuff, with the bandage try separating it a bit more by teasing the squares apart somewhat, has a good effect, bandage is cheap, the more you play with it the better the look will be. liking the stealer too

your highlighting on eyes is exceptional , and those genestealers , look bloody dangerous. Man how everything has changed since back inthe day, i rember when inking / washing had seemed so new, then it was drybrushing , then drybrush and wetbrush and inks, now its all wash's and wet layers and edge highlighting , not to mention blending! i dont know where to start .....

I just realized that I never showed you the Skaven troops that I painted up, they are a bit quickly painted but I will add some more detail and finishe the banner when I have some more free time. Anyway, here are the pictures.

I'm really liking the colored tubing on the doomwheel. Definitely adds a lot of color and vibrancy to it. The green around the wheel itself is looking interesting....can we get a closeup of that? What exactly is going on there?

Otherwise, I'd say the rats are looking pretty good. The dark gray I'm particularly liking, although it's also a bit...steely, maybe? Not really sure.

What do you mean when you say steely? I shall get some more pics of the doomwheel when the sun decides to come back. I shall also put up some more PIP of the Exorcist (who is turning out to be the best space marine I have EVER painted!)

I have been doing some more work on the exorcist and have tacked him together so you can see him in his entirety. Enjoy!
