Ta (also your avatar is hypnotizing me...)
A last bit of footling for tonight. Got Warfield's gun arm sorted out. Probably needs a bit more mechanicalising, but I like it as a basis (it also happens to fit perfectly into the gap between Warfield and the Infested head ).
Also sorted out a second deployable to act as an objective. This time its an RFAC turret to go with Swann's flamer turret. The final objective will have to be the Xel'Naga artefact (but I'm still sorting out ideas for that)

Hmm.. theoretically there is some progress in there somewhere... Currently fiddling with GS on various bits and pieces. Bulking up legs and creating feet. Then its onto some basing I think. I need to increase the profile of the Zealots a bit to make up for their slightly smaller size compared to the Terrans. Mebbie some more tomorrow!

So my shiny shiny Old Crow stuff arrived! I picked up a Claymore heavy transport and a Slingshot AFV to see if I could use either of them to go with my pre-purchased track units to make something siege-tank-like for my Vindicator counts-as. In the end I think the slingshot is a better fit for the job. As you can see below its about the same size as a rhino, especially when bulked out with the heavy track units: Its a bit of a pity, as the Claymore is really too big to use as anything else in 40k and I could have used the Slingshot as a Salamander in my Guard unit. However I'm starting to like the aesthetic with the heavy turret and the big guns Tomorrow I will pick up a dust mask and get to work dremelling away some of the undercarriage to fit with the tracks. I will also have to shorten the front and read track units to fit properly, however as I will also be enclosing the corner tracks I can hide the worst of the damage. I will also need to trim off the proper Slingshot turret mount at the back, but I can hide that with some random plastic vehicle gubbins. A hatch or something. The mini-turret up top looks a little weird, but I can't think of any other way of representing the various storm bolters that Vindicators can have. I also need to get back to GSing up the Marines and Nova, but I will wait for the dust to settle a bit before continuing with that. Maybe later tomorrow after I have cleared up a bit.

@Joshh - The original siege tanks had 4 tracks, but the new ones in SC2 have 6 track units... More fiddling is needed!
@Luther - Thanks With regard to the Zealots, I stole the basic idea from Proiteus, so its only fair to spread it around a bit more
@ph34r - Thanks. I'm pondering if I need some more recoil dampers on there. I think I can fiddle some out of the remains of the Ion Cannon I have, but I'm concerned that it could only be added at the expense of the awesome detailing on the turret... I will probably hack up a test though for public comment

@winnertakesall - Thats the idea @Shingouki - Diorama? No diorama here. this here is a working army So I managed to find a dust mask and have dremelled my way to glory! Or alternatively I've managed to trim down all the resin I needed to. As can be seen below most of the chassis and turret are sorted out now. Just need to work on plasticard skirts for the corner track units: I also tried fitting the Ion Cannon bits on as recoil dampers and I think it looks ok. I'll just need to see if I can easily trim them to fit properly. Thoughts?

I'm going to have to go back through all the rest of this thread and pick up what i've missed, only just found this thread and skimmed through the last two pages, so i hope i'm not going to ask a question that has already been answered, and if i do then please forgive me, but...
where did you get the treads that your using for the siege tank, and where did you get the guns for both the tank and the objective markers? the guns on the tank have been done up in such a way that they would look good and Orky, and the objective marker guns would make for nice Goblin artillery pieces.
Also you'll need to do something to the front and read treads to cover up where you dremmelled them. one idea that comes to mind is to finish removing the treads on the bottom so that they are flush to the ground, and then add in more tread to bring them back to connect with the set in the middle. then take the set in the middle and trim a divider line down the middle of them. this will make it look like one set of really long treads that runs from front to back and one set of short treads that runs around the middle of the outside.

@SebastionSynn - Thanks for dropping by
The tracks I got from a place called Daemonscape that casts up old Stargrunt 28mm vehicles. I needed 6 track units so the most cost effective way was to get the Leviathan and totally ignore the rest of the tank
The deployables use the Terminator teleport homer thingy as a base mounted on a trimmed down Tau drone. The heavy flamer is from the Land Speeder sprue (not used on my Diamondback) while the RFAC uses the reciever and ammo hopper from a Land speeder assault cannon with a trimmed down Guard Autocannon barrel. Guard weapon shields are then added for flavour. The Siege Tank main armament is a couple of Tau Ion Cannon attached to the Old Crow support turret I got with my Claymore.
Regarding the tracks, the new SC2 siege tank has 6 independant track units, so I'm trying to replicate that look. I need to provide some skirts to the corner units though, so the plan is to use that to hide the grinding.

this is nice till now on the siege tank. My question is, do you want to make it into siege mode or just plain has it is?
the reason behind this question is conserning the canon of your model. in non siege mode, the canon is not separated
in the siege mode position, it is.
I truly think that if you put more space, it will not only look better but it will have more fidelity to the original model (sorry for my grammar, english is not my native thong.)
here are some good guiding picts:
(By the way, it is a treat following your process!)

Oooh... feedback already!
hypnocat>hypnotoad, although hypnotoad is also our lord and master... there may be demarcation issues shortly.
Regarding the main armament, if you check out the old siege tank it always had 2 barrels. On the new version, when it is in tank mode (which is what I'm going for) it fires out of the 2 side barrels. I just haven't gotten around to plasticarding up my turret to give a similar look. To be honest I was wondering if anyone would notice but now you have I guess it goes back on the WIP list.

The track covers really help beef up the "vindicator". The sheer size of the guns should make it darn tootin clear what it counts-as.
Do you plan on having someone else paint the army?
