It was used a lot like the sextants on a ship in place of a good compass. They were replaced, mid-fifties I think, with reflex collimators, a large lensatic compass on a stand, basically.

Clearly, this model needs a pintle-mounted storm bolter, to take it over the top, power-wise.

The US basically stole the German railway design of the "Leopold" for the carriage of the M65 "Atomic Annie"
They make a kit of it in 1/35,

But it's made by Dragon. Dragon makes excellent kits, but are super Expen$ive IMO.

Some of the newer kit manufacturers out of Hong Kong are just as detailed, but much cheaper.

yep i just picked up alot from dollar store, plus real life wise, the net would be covered in metals or something like that to prevent the enemy from seeing it from on uav or some device, i cant remember which, but i think that the catachans would want to keep a gun like this out of harms way

back in my days in service i hated that stuff... those nettings always made everything dirty... when on action you were always so sticky... i hated the combination of plasic and string...
