Although it's rather frustrating to have 6th edition coming out just as I'm starting to get the rules for 5th edition down, I'm hoping for a iBooks release of the 6th edition BRB.

GK, Imp, BA vs...uhm... DE?
What's your question?
I guess that it's up to personal opinion, but imo, overall, non-Xenos tend to get better codexes.
/e: And yes, I do know that GK were worse. Then again, Necrons get a new codex that's relatively balanced. When GK got their new codex back then...well, it's obvious.
This pretty much. Right now Space Marines, Silver Space Marines, and Red Space Marines are the best in the game followed by Imperial Guard and Light Blue Space Marines. Dark Eldar/Necrons are competitive at least.
Yes, it's possible to beat Grey Knights with Tyranids, But there's a natural handicap built in that all non-Imperial players have to deal with, and that's the big balance issue.
Don't count orks out. They can excel against many of the armies you have listed if they have a well built list,
Anyway, LMAO when I saw that they called it a 'teaser' trailer. They pretty much spelt it out for us!
I just hope they won't change too much, just the stuff that obviously needs changing. Lvls on special rules would bug me out so much.
Wait, did someone seriously argue that space marines were better than light blue space marines...? Alsp, the GK handicap exists for all non mech guard imperial players as well. Those force weapons go through power armor just as well as MCs. Automatically Appended Next Post: Einhänder wrote:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nef_5gNkGfM

I didn't read the previous posts but are people saying that the book will be released on the 23rd? Because the manager at the Seattle Battle Bunker said the 23rd was just the pre-order date. A two week pre-order period at that.

It is not a secret island colony, more of a convalescent home in the suburbs.
I hope 5th Ed has some of the rule variations that earlier eds had such as kill teams and combat patrols, or even spearhead/ apoc type game set ups. Or maybe they will start putting that type of material into WD again?

I wonder what the preorder/preview materials will actually entail, considering that this is the first edition launched under the Комитет НоЪЬїТ regime.
When 8th WFB hit we had tons of info ahead of time, all the way down to most of the spell lores. This time we have <10 as-yet-unconfirmed rumoured tidbits.
It's easy for them to preview models and updated supplements (by displaying the new stats, names of rules, etc.) but I wonder if they will actually put forth any juicy rules info regarding 6th.

The videogames are wholly separate entities from the miniatures game and came after roughly a decade of nothing. I haven't seen any new models out for battletech in a while, but that doesn't mean they don't exsit. Are these just the rescpults that get out from time to time? Is there actually new content? I remember the starter box they tried to push a few years back, but that seemed to bomb as hard as everything else attached to the minis liscence has since the 90s. Maybe my standards for what constitutes a "dead game" are a little loose.

This.
Many armies have seen the top and the bottom of the hill. Except the Tau - I think they have always been at the bottom.
I understand the gripes about not having balance - but I think most people just want their army/armies to be the top. It is human/hobby nature to want your army to be competitive. Or at least recently updated.
Tau used to be far better. Fish of Fury was a viable tactic, and back in 4th their prices didn't seem so high.
I don't want my army to be top (that would be nice though), I just want to be anywhere near competitive.

So does this mean that the pre orders go up the 23rd and the rule book is released the 30th? That seems a bit odd for GW since they usually announce pre-orders on the last Friday of every month when the White Dwarf comes out. Regardless I can't wait for it.

Has absolutely no reference to any codex as none tie with the number 6. BA were not the 6th Legion, nor DA. Wolves are the closest codex as they were the VI legion.

I think what it will be is official info release on the 23rd and the start of the pre-orders. Meaning that it will be a July 7th release? I guess we will know next week (or this week) if pre-orders start. I don't see GW dropping 6th without at least a week of pre-ordering time.

Historically the starter set is released a few months after.
Alot of people are assuming this however the codex for the proposed 6th ed box armies are pretty old, it seems like an odd move on GW's part. Perhaps they will just revise the old blackreach box untill these codex are updated.
