I think I'm probably gonna lock in what I had initially "ordered". I thought about getting the Calamity crew to use with the other minis in the set to have the possibility for Vanguard versus Rebels, with Kara and her Gnosis suit for the Van and the Industrial suit for heavy support for the Rebels.

Now I'm seriously tempted instead to pledge over on the Dreamforge Kickstarter to get a squad of their cool Stormtroopers, and just use them with spare Vanguard cards, a SedWars character or two, and the Industrial suit. It would give a look of a human faction that's just as sophisticated as the Vanguard, rather then ragtag. The only bummer is that they have the look, but would only have rifles.

Hmm...maybe some Pig Iron or Wargames Factory Greatcoat troops(they have the weapon options, but I hate some parts of them, like the heads)?

I wonder how it would look if I painted some of the Vanguard troopers as more of a ragtag look- god knows the biohazard set comes with plenty of them.

How long was the CKPM open for Zombiecide? I want some THI suits, but aren't in the position for them until the middle of next month...

@HBMC

Well the THI suits were listed as $10 and then they were changed back to $15 and then they said $20 for the two big suits and I put in for 2 more Kara's and then the price changed on another item so I dropped them both.

you have until Sept. 30th to get your pledges in.

I honestly don't know how this happened.

I started off with 100 bucks.

Then I went to 140, still cool.

then 200, Still fine with it.

Then Somewhere around the Firefly crew reveal I just said the hell with it and was tired of changing pledges.

Went to 400.

Then in the final days of the pledge a little birdy told me about the last 2 stretch goals.

then I went to 600.

I had a good week last week as far as tips go and fixing people's lawn mowers.

So now I am at 800, though I am waiting to submit my pledge as my buddy now wants in.

I hope to see this game/universe develop greatly within the next few years.

Oh ok. You added more Kara suits initially. That makes sense now. I originally put down for 3 THI suits. Then they went from $15 to $10 and I thought great, that’ll pay for a second set of headcrabs. Then they went back to $15, and I decided to leave it.

I think 5 suits (total) is enough for me!

How many of you are getting the Lights Out Campaign Pack or the Opti/GitD sets?

Anybody have any ideas (other than in the dark and/or opti-camo) how the LO Campaign will differ from the standard campaign?

E.g. could it be normal vanguard trying to fight Strain in the dark? Followed by Stealth Vanguard fighting normal strain? (can't see the point of neither being able to see each other...that would just end up as a big punch up in the middle)

Putting aside rarity...is the pack good value do you think?

I'm tempted by the campaign pack but money is tight at the moment so not sure. The Opticamo guys would make interesting Tau Pathfinders or Stealth suits in a Gueseva force, I think...but I'm really not so sure about the GitD models. OTOH...I do like the look of the GitD Scythe Witch and Brimstone.

The LO pack is not as good a value as quarentine zone box set on a price per mini basis

(somewhere over 30 figs for $50 still less the $2 each, instead of 100 figs for $100)

BUT it has clear Samaritans (& Characters), and glowy strain, you have to decide if the novelty is worth it

(it was for me, but I did add it as the last thing I added, if i had less spare cash it would have been the first thing to go)

The LO campaign will feature optional rules for 'cloaking' the vanguard force, and for 'regenerating' strain, the models are ideal for showing these effects, but you could run it just using tokens on the base of a normal figure instead

Ah they lost $100 from you but the delay just gave me time to convince me to get another biohazard so it evens itself out!

Having looked at the mantic enforcers however I might just get some of them as well, seem to match pretty well with the vanguard although I might wait to see if they do a warpath kickstarter first for the freebies!

yeah both designed by Roberto Cirillo so fit together really well ,think im gona make them look a bit more droid like {like the robo cops from the new total recal} and use them as assualt troops

@AegisGrimm- I'm in that same boat. Going in on Dreamforge for my sci-fi infantry, but darn these THI suits are soooo tempting!! (For terminator equivalents) I did get an email from them when I said I missed the deadline, so I think I have access to the pledge manager page... if the suits were $10 instead of $15 I'd be all over it.

(or even a pack of say 5 for $50-$60, so you could only get them cheaper if you're ordering a number of them)

So.. anyone know.. are these traditional sculpts, like with green/gray/brown-stuff? Or 3D models that gets 3D printed? Are they gonna be styrene injected plastic? or resinwannabeplastic?

I assumed it was going to be real plastic, but if they're doing traditional sculpts then does that mean it'll be more like resin figs?

They are traditional putty/clay sculpts and will be cast plastiresin, restic whatever you want to call it! - not Styrene. Plastic glue will not work on these only superglue.

Im not too sure these are plastic/resin tbh i seem to remember mike saying the kick starter special figures would be normal resin as i would of thorght the cost of having them tooled for resin/plastic would be prohibitive.

Nice figure i like that its kinda neutral so it can be used in almost any system.

Phase 1 delivery is still slated for November

Here's Ali's post from the Studio McVey forum

Hi,

I'm sure some of you think we must have abandoned everyone and retired to some paradise island or something. IF ONLY

The week after Mike returned from Gencon we started packing our house, the studio, the kid....(everything but the kitchen sink because that wasn't ours) and moved up to the Lake District to be with Mike's mum. It's been a long few weeks and now we are here, it's going to be another few weeks until we get internet and other modern technology like tv. The views make up for it though. Those that pledged to come for a days painting through kickstarter are in for a treat.

Anyway, I'm grabbing internet time when I can at the moment and I thought it was about time I updated you all on a few things.

Firstly, the production is looking good and to schedule.

The new store is due to open very soon. I am just finishing up painting the new LE miniature in the next day or so and you're in for a real treat.

Lastly, if you check over on the BforA forum in production news, I will be posting pictures of Jada Lily in the next few minutes. Hope you like her.
