Necros wrote:More fun with Lydia last night. So, I got a quest from some kitty in the wizard college. he wants me to try out these fire cloak scrolls on undeads. So, I say OK, and me and Lydia head out for a dungeon. I see some undead things, so I use a fire cloak scroll and it kills em real quick, then Lydia walks up to my and gets a little burn too. I see a little message at the top that says something like "Your companion leaves your service" .. Lydia tells me she never should have come here, and then buries her legendary flaming ebony warhammer in my skull. Game over.
So, she doesn't care if she stands in the middle of my fireball that goes off next to her head, but if she bumps into me with a fire cloak on, she gets all psycho-ex-girlfriend on me. Oh well.
I did that during a quest where some chap wanted my help to clear out a necromancer from his families barrow, if I used the spell he would run into my and then would kill me (if I fought back the quest failed). I hate Jzargo
Jzargo literally lasted 5 minutes with me. Fireball and he died. I couldnt be fagged loading back. No one compares to erandur (He was killed by a combination of my fireballs, magic anomalies and my lack of noticing.

I beat alduin, yeah, it's somewhat anticlimactic, but hey, that's okay, I'm just gonna go and kill some rebel scum now.

I can't craft better weapons, unless I spend a ton of Perks in Enchanting, and more in Blacksmiting, which I am Loath to do. If I had known I couldn't circle the other way in the BS tree, after going the light armor side, I have have consiered it. But as is, I don't feel like dumping another 5 perks in Blacksmithing, then a ton more in Enchanting.

I've purchased things from shops that are better than the named gear I've found.

Yea named stuff is not good most of the time, though they are somewhat useful for getting enchantments faster than hoping to see one of the generics pop up
The sword you get for finishing the civil war quest-line is decent. I got an ebony sword of the vampire which was kickass. (Granted i then made a daedric sword which made it redundant)
Anyone else think its dumb that making Daedric Armour increases your Smithing the same as an iron dagger?
And am i right in saying the an (EPIC) Daedric weapon with two full power enchantments is the strongest thing you can get in the game?

NO. I belive epic is the final level of smithing upgradiness. HOWEVER you need equivalent 180 (or more cant remember the exact number) smithing to do it. So you need to have full enchanting so you can make a super powerful smithing outfit.

Unperked you need 156 smithing to upgrade to epic and 196 to upgrade to legendary, if you have a perk in that armour type (daedric armour smithing in this case) then those numbers drop to 74 and 91 respectively.

According to both of the wiki's and the rest of the internet searching I've done godly is just an adjective used to describe the stupidly good gear you can get by using the crafting feedback loop, the name is still (legendary).
Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios
Dang you guys go to too much trouble to get away with murder. Just kill all the witnesses, its easier then putting buckets on their heads.

It is kinda wierd. especially since corrundum+iron=steel.
Why didn't they just have coal in the game and have Coal+iron=steel?

Yeah, I have nicknames for things in games, so what?
Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Do crafted items, specifically glass, have better stats then vendor purchases or drops?
Im at 79 smithing now but really am not sure about putting more points into it.
I've been using the same glass mace with upgrades/enchants for the last 5 levels.
Am I missing something?

For us PC Gamers/Modders, the owner of the Nexus site (one of the LARGEST communities of mods for all Beth Games) comes out to have a chat (or a 37 min chat ) to talk about the future of modding, hopes/fears about steam and what Beth could do, the danger of non mod experienced players, possibilities of console game mods, all that jazz. Very intriguing, he tries not to take sides
I cant believe I watched the whole thing in one sitting
I've been meaning to write an editorial or blog about the recent events in the Nexus community since Skyrim's launch and also to cover a few points regarding Bethesda's recent announcement on their plans for the Creation Kit and their Steam Workshop integration. However, I'm in the process of moving house right now and have come across the webcam I lost when I moved in 2 years previously, so I thought I'd put two-and-two together and try my hand at doing a video blog.
It's completely no frills, no edits, no cuts and there aren't any visual aids. It is, literally, me talking in to a camera for 37 minutes so if you're looking for flashy logos or video clips of me playing Skyrim then I'm afraid you're going to be disappointed -- it's 37 mins of my ugly mug talking to you.
I've never done a video blog before so go easy on me! I've been packing up things all day and currently sleeping on the floor so don't expect much, but expect something...because it's me!

A crafted glass mace without upgrades or enchantments is exactly the same as a standard glass mace from a vendor or drops, the real advantage of smithing is upgrading which only has six named catagories (fine, superior, exquisite, flawless, epic and legendary) but after legendary the improvement in armour value or damage increases by 0.2 and 0.1 respectively per smithing level over 100.
I like the named stuff to decorate my homes with, besides that they make little use to me. Except for Dawnbreaker, I kill enough undead for it to not be useful. After curing my lycanthropy the Ring of Hircine is completely useless, but I keep the daedric artifacts in my safe in Solitude. What have you guys got so far? I have the following:
- Ring of Hircine
- Masque of Clavicus Vile
- Azura's Star
- Mace of Molag Bol
- Dawnbreaker
- Wabbajack
(Can't get Ring of Namira, killed the NPC who gave it to me because I'm running a goody-two-shoes character atm)
