There's 24 people going - if everyone chips in a pint for the winner it'll have to come with a free stomach pump...

If we're struggleing, what if someone does a brief sketch and everyone chips in with spare sprue/plastic bits to make one on the day. Sort of like the scrap deamon trophie from games day. minimal cost then.

Plus of course pints and a stomach pump

What if the prize is all participants must pay homage to the winner of the tournament by using a graphic in their sig... of the winner's choice... for three months or something.

...and 20 pints.

If everyone chips in a marine, he could get a nice couple of squads....

Might be better to bring orks, since there are more ork players, thus more chance of the winner being an ork lover

How about £2? 24 x £2 = £48 - enough to buy a Marine or two Orks - even after the price rise

That's actually a good idea - if everyone chips in the cost of a pint, that's pretty much a shiny new battleforce, or any other combination of boxes, for the winner....?

Would there be a case for assuming everyone's gonna chip in a couple of quid, and then purchasing £40 of GW vouchers or DarkSphere/Wayland web credit or something?

sounds good to me! maybe winner gets half, best sportsman gets a 1/4 and best army gets a 1/4?

separate question - are 'allies' allowed in your force - My normal army is themed and contains a tactical sqaud as it's 2nd troops selection, and also a techmarine as an ellit. Just that if not I'll obviously need to bring forward plans for more troops choices. At the moment it's just a bit depressing loking at the bits knowing how much time a squad takes me :(

Yup. I've shaved off the three champions which takes me down to 1,005. Only things left are special weapons and chaos icons, which I need both, really.

I play Chaos too, so I feel your pain, but like I said, rules are rules unfortunately. Making it fit through uncomfortable choices is a big part of the game. Not got Meltabombs you can drop from anybody, then?

Nope basically got 2 x daemon princes and 3 units of chaos space marines in rhinos.

Armed with meltas, I assume? You might just have to drop one down to a flamer or something mate.

Drop a DP in favour of a Sorcerer then use him in one of the units. Auto drops 1x Melta and the price of a CSM so you can give the sorcerer what you like you'll still have the points!

Actually - I'm sure I've visited a website in the past with that very same name...

I'm cool with everyone chipping in £2 (if all 24 players plus me do that we're at £50 for the prize fund) but it has to be all or nothing. If anyone doesn't chip in its not fair on those who do.

Points wise 1,000 is the upper limit as is normal for a tournament. If its ok for one person to go over 1,000 it has to be ok for everyone to go above 1,000 and then it gets messy... Sorry guys but strict is the only way to be fair.


Finally - The four missions are now written and are being playtested. There may be minor detail changes but the titles are as follows:

Mission 1: Recon
Mission 2: Sieze Ground
Mission 3: Headquarters Raid
Mission 4: Into the Fire

More details will follow but that's a big enough hint for now...
