And super kudos for the missile shield dealie. Is that a standing rules option somewhere, or did you squirt that one out yourself? Either way I think it's very tactical and flavorful from a fluff perspective. Would like to see this puppy in a battle report.

All i have to say is WOW i love all the conversions and the paint scheme though not sure if the guns on that super heavy are big enough lol....wish my tau looked so good lol

I like the paint scheme and poses on the xv-9's. Any chance you can enlighten us where you got all the pulse rifles? R'alai only comes with one and they dont sell them separately (nor a normal xv-9 with 2 of em :()

@ thevirus : Break out your tau and start giving them some love, don't have to wait for a new codex, start with painting any that need it or even do some interesting conversions, for me thats where the fun is.

@ Illumini : Thank you very much , yeah I have settled on a all wheeled IG/Tau aux look for them and recently aquired the first 40+ minies to start them, will be posting pics soon-ish , likely tommorrow.

@ Odd One Out : I am no GOD of Tau, just a fierce protector of them , yes I have 2 more squads of those broadsides to finish, and am planning my next 2 superheavies, so will be a busy new year.

@ Sharkvictim : the missle shield rule was completely from my fevered mind, but I have been in this hobby for quite a while, so its pretty easy to come up with flavorful rules for 40k and especially the Tau, now if only GW gets it right.

@ polari : Thank you for the compliments, and to be fair the only weapon on the Mont'ka that is unusualy large is its main railcannon , the rest are standard fare

@ MoD_Legion : I ordered 3 R'alai and got a extra submunition rifle, so luck of the draw i guess.

Thanks all for the interest, and I will endeavor to put more stuff in this thread, I have a few ideas knocking around and a few projects in the planning stage:

1 : a search and rescue Devilfish

2 : a extensive Human/IG force of Aux with a decidely higher tech look to them.

3 : My Marines Malevolent project (Gotta make some bad guys for the Tau to fight.)

4 : A foray in to resin casting with a intention to make some of my own unique stuff. (Xenos APC and such )

5 : 2 more Super heavies. in the same vein as the Mont'Ka

6 : plenty more lizard aux and kroot stuff. just gotta space it out to prevent burnout.

Again thanks for all the comments, these go along ways to keeping this soldier on mission and expanding this Unified Corps.

You really should consider making bigger broadsides...

Numbers 1 and 2 interest me quite a bit. So far, your auxileries have been highly entertaining! What were you thinking a S&R Devilfish would entail?

Thanks for compliments and as to its stats there is a link in my sig to a Tau prototype thread where all of the Mont'Ka's stats are , its basically the same weapon as mounted on a tiger shark.

Ok so sort of a double entry for my Tau, a combo IG/Tau aux human force.

The Red Devils.

Sorta my version of Elysians but will also fit in with my Tau look and style as a Gue'vesa Aux force.







Now I am just waiting on my conversion bits so I can start cranking these lads out, doing them a platoon at a time 40+ and will incorporate a air mobile section, a mech section and a foot / light infantry section.

Thanks for the idea to have FW buy the rights to my designs , as if that would happen... but personally I would love just to see them do a superheavy grav tank for the Tau, and am sure it would be awesome.

If not, you atleast should make her a bit different from the regular ethereals... maybe make her own rules? but that would be for friendly games only

Thanks for the comments guys, yeah I guess she could be a standin for Aun'Va (not that I would ever field him) , made her more for compleatness sake I guess.

And just bought parts for my second Super Heavy Mont'Ka mk 2, will be posting pics soon of its turret, love me some converting.

Also have a new Komodai trooper concept to do shortly, so pics will be forthcoming.

@Rawson : yeah the Ethereals come in both sexes, and Personally I like my "Iron Lady" Ethereal

Now this is just epic!
The cannon on that superheavy sure seems capable of doing a LOT of "greater good" to any enemy of the tau!
And man, that is one massive motorpool...
