That is an anousem tank! I honestly do think 1200 pts is kinda expecive I would either put it to 1000pts or keep it at 1200pts.

But the transprot is a bit tight only 20? I would honestly have 30- ie 24 fire warriors (Or two squads worth But I dont know the exat number cause I don't play em!) then maybe a stealth tem or two or a sniper team instead to fit in?

Still looks really cool! the amout of kits used Im geussing is huge! But how many were used?Love to see more

@killerAngel Appreciate the compliment on the Missle shield rules for the Mont'Ka, not incredibly useful but fun and kinda versitile, since it can be used to protect allied units as well.

Hopefully when they make the new Tau codex it will have simular rules that promote a overlapping force projection....well one can hope.

This is the coolest Tau army I have ever seen. Never thought "gritty" could be used for Tau, but these guys look like they are ready for a fight.

I second that. The suits looks great! I have zero CC there, but the bases are a bit plain...

Yeah the plain bases were a concious choice for me, I have never been a over the top baser, its my least favorite part of the modeling hobby, but on the next few I may do a bit more..maybe

At any rate appreciate the input, now I may do a little work on my human allies or some kroot/Komodai stuff, if anyone has any preferences suggestions are welcomed.

well one down and time to build his squaddies have enough spares on hand for 1 more with this head config, and will do something diffrent for the other, or may save the xv-9 leader head to signify a squad commander, and build 2 squads of these bad boys.

Over all I really enjoyed this build, has a nice feel to it, and even stands up without a base

I am jealous of the number of XV9s you have...if the rumors of Farsight "unlocking" a full-battlesuit army are true, I'm gonna TRY to squeeze in as many XV9s as I can!

Still have 4 more to finish as well, grand total of 9, been thinking of doing a forgeworld order for xmas, get me a few more and bring it up to 12 or so strength, I have used them a few times and they do well, but mainly I just like how they look.

May have to get me some tx-42 as well, and maybe a few FW boadsides.....hmm what choices

And now for something for my Aux ( human and Komodai )

I used a 1/35th scale Stryker and modified the turret with some simple augmentations, I did not want to tamper with the model to much, since I already like its look alot .







finished with a base coat of Tamiya field green , now will get to giving it a true paint scheme, but as far as its size is its almost identical to my "Xenos" pattern Aliens APC.
I plan on getting several more of this kit to equip a platoon or 2 of mech infantry.

I like your take on the broadsides! I always liked the FW better than the GW, and yours certainly follow that style. You did a great job bulking out the crisis suit with plasticard and the modified jump pack looks great. Not so much CC from me, I'm afraid, but that might just be because it's early

I'm less of a fan of the Stryker stand in, but I'm a bit of a GW/FW purist (making allowances for scratch built stuff, of course). I.E. I like your Xenos APC better than this one

I think I may use both the Xenos Apc and this Stryker one, the stryker will represent the planets older human forces, and the Xenos will be the newer Tau influenced design.

Problem with the Xenos is its labor intensive, but I may try to build 3-4 at once and assembly line them, the first one is always the most difficult.

now I need to work on some Komodai , but I keep getting side tracked, so many ideas..so little time.

@BloodGenisis : just give it a try, I started with one battle suit and worked my way up, just get some plasric card and make something, a box or crate, and start developing your skills, you never know until you try.

@The Grundel : Yeah I love camo, and it makes sense for a shooting based army, never saw a sense in all the bright tau..but to each their own.

And conversions are what keep me sorta sane, I enjoy trying to improve ( in my opinion at least ) on some of the designs, problem is I always come up with a new twist or something, but it keeps me busy.

plays pretty well to, I need to order my parts for a second Mont'ka, the mk2.

I went the grav tank route since I really dont see the Tau building giant walkers, well they are just as likely to build larger tanks as to do that, and it seemed more versitile, plus I love tanks

I want to do a Apoc battle with it but unfortunatly my army gaming groups other members dont as yet have large enough armies, oh well .

Maybe I can convince them to use my orks and I can kill my own models with my own models

My only criticism of the Striker is that you should have gone with a LAV-25 instead

Other than that, fantastic army. Loving the camo paint jobs on the Tau. Definitely one of my top favorite Tau armies I've seen.
