So the oddest thing I have now painted too is a carton of chocolate milk, and Primal Fear. My ipod is not a hedgehog (i.e. it is buggered) and I don't have TV so I was stuck with a dwindling supply of DVDs...I've seen Primal Fear before so I am not entirely sure why a. I have that on DVD, and b. I watched it. So here is my Ratling. I did well on his eyes, but not so elsewhere. He is ok - smallest mini I have painted, and wasn't too hard to do, so that is encouraging. Going to pick up some sand from the site at the weekend, so will experiment with basing next week....
For my Very Chickeny Fighting Chickens I would kill, well ok, pay handsomely for some Halfling Housewives. I would also like 2 bloodbowl halfling team squads. If you look at the upppercut position of the arms they are perfect for the 'Crotch Breaker Regiment'.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Any body want to tell me what to paint next....?
I have no idea what to do.
Mano.

I notice you have a very minimalist palette. I would suggest buying some different shades of green and brown as the ones you have are not the nicest - and I'm guessing you wont need to spend your money on minis anytime soon Automatically Appended Next Post: well the green anyway - too slime colored for my taste - I like a good jolly woodland green Automatically Appended Next Post: Fighting Cocks!!!

Haha...yes.
Actually I will invest in some at xmas. My problem being...like that gold...the paints I can get my hands on are either a bit off or of limited range. For instance: I cannot get hold of black. Or white. And my gold is off. I got a thing of basic paint set which is about 20 paints or so.
However....I will use new colours tonight as I aspire to be like your minis. I also as usual forgot to shade and highlight.
Undercoat
Paint
Shade
Highlight
Wash
Is that the right order?
btw...any good suggestion for a brick type colour? Automatically Appended Next Post: I would also like some mithril silver.

I can see your problem yes. Cant get white or black! If it helps I have had success using plain artists acrylics white and black.
brick type colour - well if you mix that red you have with the pale brown and then wash it with some watered down black... oh dear, well forget the black.

Haha. You don't know how annoying it is not having black.
Is that a double negative? Or is that right?
I've started using something called Charadon Granite...
Artists acyrilics...no harm in tyring....
Btw...what type of undercoat do use. Mine new one is extremely shiny and seems harder to paint onto. But it could be my imagination as it is non GW.

yeah I can see your paints in the photo of you desk - they came out when i was 15 and I didn't like them - they had a tendency to dry up and separate. I still have the really old ones with the hexagonal and cylindrical shape and the snap down lids - they have mostly stood the test of time as they still seem mostly fine despite being 20 years old. I think maybe games workshop deliberately worked some planned redundancy into their newer paints so as to keep us buying? dont quote me on that though

no I have seen the close ups of you undercoat and it is definatly too shiney by half
you wont get such good results from that as the paint will keep slipping. You want matt always matt. I'm using hi-coat matt acrylic car primer at the mo Automatically Appended Next Post: well i better get breakfast.

Crud the barbarian. It was really dificult to paint last night it just wouldn't stick.
Should I just re-strip the metal ones?
I found something that eats the paint really quickly but it also eats plastic. So the sprayed plastic ones...luckily not too many will have to stay I think.
I will buy some Matt tonight hi-coat acrylic.
And I will search for acrylic paints...

I might try a light spray for the plastic ones as they are so hard to get the paint to stick. The shoulder pad on the marine above (was my best one) took about 5 coats to get.
Will be interested to see what you do after your quest for perfection...something like ambulls rebuild of er an ambull. :-) Automatically Appended Next Post: Right.

Descending into Randomness , Nice!
about the shiny paints, i too have being buying mat car paints , for the boys minis. I got a satin one by mistake and its terrible! although i did undercoat my beast with it! ok for vehicles and buildings. But i bit the bullet and bought the expensive gw one ath the weekend for the tiny perry minis, didnt think the car sprays would cut it on such small detail. And i have to say , its very good. A perfect mat finish ,and spray paint is so fine , it really captures detail well!. Cant you get the Gw stuff in the Phillipines?

Yes, I can. My friend is a missionary and on his last visit abroad brought back with him the chief of a famous tribe. His name is Great Boo. He's been suffering from sleeping sickness and he's obviously just woken because as you've heard, Great Boo's up.

I love Blackadder.
Woof Woof.
@ Atre....erm. I bought a stripper. Haha
@ Oh Weety, can it be true? That I hold here, in my mortal hand, a nugget of purest Green? Good way to start my day reading about Blackadder.
@ Neil101. I can but it is in really limited supply. Like, 1 shelf. I was telling Weety that I can't even get black and white paint.
@ Monkey Troll...I started reading your reply as a reply to Neil...and it was making sense...until I got to the famous tribe. Ever played Baron Munchausen? I believe he did that with just a lump of plasticine and a bottle of cough syrup.
UPDATE!!!
Guys. I went a bit overboard last night as I was determined not to lose anymore than my alloted 83 days solid painting to finish this project. After nearly 30 minutes deliberation over Spray Paint (I couldn't see Hi-Mat anywhere so got High Flat) I went home, rustled up a makeshift spray room in my bathroom (I live alone and no one has yet seen my tiles...oops) and did a test!
Oh and it worked so beautifully. A real nice khaki colour took hold on my guys. So when I got back from the gym I laid out more paper and sprayed and sprayed in my not well ventilated bathroom until I ran out of spray! But...it has done an awesome job. Especially on going over the bad spray job I did the other day. I tested it on some of the plastics I knew I couldn't strip and I am very pleased with how it took, so I will just give a light coat to all the minis I did the other day when I pick up another can.
THEN I painted skin onto about 20 minis, and it held and looked awesome (I think). The khaki undercoat really brings it to life.
So very pleased with last night...
Will post proper pics tomorrow...but here are two that I grabbed on my phone as I left the camera at work....

@ Miss Dee. I think I have 8. I will count tonight. I am getting lost with all my miniatures as I am now storing them in my bathroom, desk, laptop bag (its padded) and kitchen.
@ Weety. Yes I used to have something about killing space marines...then I realised that was a bit tooo geeky...I do like that movie. :-)
@ Monkeytroll KUDOS again! I think you got the last one as well!!! No sadly not, though I have 8 sentinels, in a sorry state of repair as I dropped the box they were in and will have to pin the legs back on. I have put some paint on the first one. The new spray paint/colour is a joy to work with its just a little powdery.
@ Miss Dee. I learnt a valuable lesson with spray and ventilation. Apart from coughing so much yesterday I thought I saw the inside of my lungs but a strange film has settled in my bathroom. So I will be putting the stripper to work tonight. Its a Php179 for some really toxic stuff. Sadly that probably is the price for the other type of stripper, and probably equally toxic.
Oh god I am thinking of that Brittany Spears song now. WhYYYYYYY!

Sorry about the poor quality...got home really late last night, and was slightly lightheaded by the remaining fumes of the spray.
Have one more set of models to undercoat, and then that is about it for a few months.
I like the way the vehicles have come out. I think my next army will be this khaki colour.
Last picture: any ideas how to paint camo? Weety...I want to take more time on my painting (decided I should make each one as good as possible....so highlights washes etc)...45mins is too quick.
