Yeah,,,, I don't think you can crouch. Like they said in the interview, no cover system, aside from going behind a wall.

GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

So your telling me when I play this game it's going to be completely unlike that video and nobody will be running from side to side and jumping up an down in wide open spaces with barely any cover?

I'm saying you're looking at a video and judging a game based off of preconceived notions, and playing a game with similar map styles (the game itself is a bit different than what Space Marine will be, but the map styles are at least similar) would be far more helpful than saying "I don't like this video of a game that I've never played a similar style to, this game must suck".

In my experience in Global Agenda, strafing isn't that useful. Most of the time, it's more a matter of teamwork and situational awareness that matters. If you're too busy strafing, you'll run into the line of fire of a turret, or open yourself up to being torn apart by a recon, or be blown apart by an assault's heavy weapon.

I watched the same videos and I didn't see maps that were entirely devoid of features as you seem to be describing. The maps need wide open areas where the mobility of the jump packs can be utilized properly. However, to keep things interesting, they also have pillars, bridges, cliffs, columns, stairs, rubble, etc to maneuver around or hide behind or on.

I didn't say entirely devoid of features I said it had wide open spaces with barely any cover.

I can see this game coming out and everyone will strafe left and right while shooting in multiplayer. The disadvantages you mention I can't make sense of and until you implement something like proper iron sight aiming like Cod or Battlefield strafing is still an advantage.

It's just the way I see it. This game isn't for me.

You know, can you crouch? That's a good question..I don't think I ever saw that in any videos.

I've always thought of that as such a basic feature, lol.

I'm going to buy it regardless, but if the MP doesn't have basic features like Crouch...why?

Some games are fine without crouching like God of War.

in the grim darkness of the far future there is no crouching.

Malifaux - Rezzers
The Other Side - King's Empire & Abysinnia
40K - Iron Hands

Crouching changes your hight, and that's Change, which blesses Tzeenzch. A Space Mahrine does not Crouch!

I thought God of War was a singleplayer RPG?

Gears has a full cover system...

Anyway, I much prefer strafing over iron sights chest high wall business.

You have to be against a wall in order to crouch in gears of war.

That's what I said, cover system.

I didn't say it had crouching in the first place did I? I said it has a cover system....

Then why did you even say it in response to what I said?

I give up, having a discussion with you really doesn't work.

Seriously if you wern't talking about crouch then why did you say 'Gears has a full cover system... ' in response to that? This is a discussion you started. All I was doing was asking if he meant Gears of War. Maybe you could explain why you said it instead of giving petty insults like "Reading. Hard isn't it? :\ " Or are you just a naturally antagonistic person?

The cover system in Gears involved the character crouching. Ergo, Gears had crouching. It was context sensitive crouching, but your character would bend his knees and pop a squat behind convenient chest-high walls.

Now lets get back to the Mahrinnneeees, shall we?

Question: Why does a space marine need to crouch?

"Savage Disciples" 1,500

I really don't understand this at all...Space Marines are pretty fething 'ard, but they can still get killed if they are being fired on by basically any modern 40K Weapon.

Just kinda silly, makes them all look like insane Flesh Tearers.

I don't know about that. They are pretty difficult to kill in the novels and Deathwatch RPG, which are much closer to the fluff than TT.

Also, what would you need to use crouching for anyway? It is largely useless in the arena shooters this shares history with.

2 things:

1) God of War isn't an RPG, it's an action game.
2) And yes I meant God of War, it's a game without crouching and it doesn't really need it anyways considering most of your attacks are melee based.

And in both Deathwatch and with the novels, you often see SM's taking cover.

Yes, but not behind a bush or a wooden fence. Behind huge pillars, destroyed tanks, and so on.

You know, like thre are in the game.
