It is a permanent exchange. One person sends a marine from their own chapter and the other does the same. So you wind up with a small group of marines from all sorts of chapters!
Because it is a one for one trade, you aren't at a loss really ever, and it gives you experience in painting on modeling, especially as you physically see others' marines.

Just ship off a PM to someone who you'd be wanting to trade with, and if they agree, you can start talking about what kinda things you want!

Alright thanks, I got confused

I've got a Space Marine biker who's unpainted. If need be, I'll paint him in my trail-error Space Marine Chapter I'm starting. Fully built and black primed. Metal parts have a disgusting Boltgun metal coat (it's 3 years old.. I like to think I've gotten better at painting, you know what I mean?)

That's not quite the idea BoA. You trade painted marines with someone else so you have examples of each other's work. Some folks just keep them to show off, others like myself, build special units out of them. Your call. Not that you can't trade a painted marine for bits (I've done it), but typically it's a 1:1 exchange.

First off, I'd like to remind everyone I'm still trading. However, my budged has gone down the drain so I'm trying to do one or two trades every 2 weeks or somewhere around that. PM me if you want an Icelandic Salamander!

I'm building a deathwatch unit to act as sternguard veterans in my army,so that's what I would be looking for,and I can make a deathwatch marines in exchange.Otherwise I can "offer" either a raven guard marine or one of my custom paint scheme marines,I'll shortly upload pictures of it,
One last thing,I would prefer to trade with someone in europe for the first try,to avoid huge shipping charges.

However ( :( ) I don't have any sternguard veterans, but I have this unit (unpainted, I could paint my shoulders if you want?) I'd be willing to trade for a squad of Deathwatch marines that you could use as count-as sternguard

This looks like an awesome concept! I would love to participate.

I mostly paint mustard yellow Imperial Fists/ Bumble Bee lookin' Marines but feel I could do just about any chapter except for perhaps marines with a lot of white.

Here are some pics of some basic paint jobs. If I did this I would of course finish the base (unless someone prefers an unfinished base) and I would put a bit more effort than I did in these. I have plenty of Marines and a lot of the old metal scouts laying around.






I would be willing to swap with anyone for any type of marine paint scheme. I have no requests and would simply love to see the styles of the other painters here as I have been greatly impressed with just about everything I've seen.

Ooh, goodygoodygoody I really like those IF scouts, too. Just as an update, I'm doing a =I= for WarOne. Cos, y'know, I'm making such rapid progress on my other GMS projects

Here is a couple of others I'm doing. Since I know everyone live for the pictures. First - Hopefully a better pic of Gavens Termie. Unfortunitly Terminators are not prone to much unique embellishments ( I sure someone will now prove me wrong) , so I'm trying to do a more creative base.

Second is an Mentor Space Marine ( for which I'll attempt to be " creative " ) in its build. Currently working on the base pose. PS this is just base color with base highlights. so very much early stage work.

Graven: What color is the chest Eagle on your Mentors? What primary color for the eye lenses?

So what's the occasion for the Mentor? Starting a new chapter or are you looking to put him into your command squad?

Graven went out of his way to do several figures for me ( see pages back) that were very creative. I felt I need to do something that was more creative (a attempt at) in return. A regular marine gives me more options than a terminator.


Thus this is why this blog ( thanks WM ) helps me push myself to try new stuff. ( kitbashing, terrain, Basing, posing ect ) I have been inspired and in awe of how creative you guys ( and Gals ) are.
