That it does. Terminators are neat but they're pretty static. A talented builder can convert them... but I suspect it isn't easy. Regular marines are quite easy to convert however... like orks. Might be a contributing factor in their popularity, even among senior hobbyists.

So, looking through I realised I never posted WIP stuff for the GMS Marine for Graven.

Looks good. Never seen that helmet before... what's it from?

Its a khorne bezerker head with the rabbit ears clipped off.

It's a clipped down Khorne Berzerker helmet- I've removed the fins and shaved it down a bit.

Nice barbute effect... I like.

Temis require more cutting up, but body position, arm position, and head tilt can go a really long way. Looking at the SH termis for a feel of movement is a good way to measure yourself up. Using the AoBR Termis (and metals) makes it rough, because you remove the head and body position options.





If you ever want more practice, I would love a Lamenter at some point (terminator armor not required)!

Just so everyone is aware and it can be tallied up; I am sending a Marine to Gits on the morrow.

It is going to be a Thunder Baron before the chapter turned "evil". No real name as of yet, and no real fluff either, only things I have is that they are known for Insanity (ref, lexicanum Thunder Barons page http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Thunder_Barons ) and I have a sweet spot for Marines acting as real ship-to-ship engagement dudes.

Thanks for the Terminator examples. I'm not the best at GS so minor alterations are good. Full saw jobs are risky as I hate ruining a figure. It's not the cost, its the principle!

no details (yet), but an idea of how I paint/convert

If you want to reposition the arms, cutting them right below the shoulder, but above the hose, is the best spot. You can also change the angle of the point where the arm connects to the torso. Both pretty low on the risk factor, but high on the dynamism it gives them.

I could really go for a Biker Marine, Plasma Cannon Devi, or maybe a Devi Sgt with the big backpack thing. Or just a bolter marine. I really need to get cracking on my display board, my ultimate goal for GMS marines.

I'm feeling very spoiled my chest eagles are golden brown (not using any metals) and red eyes.

I actaully got a whole mess of biker Marines off ebay awhile back and I haven't touched em as I'm not too partial. I could do one if you want.

Its actually my first attempt and they look alot better since I did many of the details after that picture. It has been super rainy here the last week or so so I havent had a chance to do another squad
The OSL is much stronger when you look at the marines from behind where the light is not coming from and I still have to paint the bases to reflect it (2nd squad I am pre-painting the bases which saves alot of time!) Once I do this and get the power weapons to reflect off the marines i'll take more pictures.

That OSL is awesome

Here they are in order of trades,
Sternguard for Warriors of Mayham, I still need to serg him up a bit!, then CC on foot for 1-I (Need to work on the glow A LOT MORE, if it keeps messing up I'll just redo the model), Sternguard for Mohaniker, Techmarine Guy (missing arm) for Polyd8, and lastly a tactical marine for Perkustin.

Also my parents are selling their house and during an open house two marine swaps models were stolen, a model by Iceangel, and one by Hemmingway. I luckily have pictures. It does say that those models must have been pretty boss for some very rich people to snag them

How dare they steal Utaan! Let me activate my lojack system that is in all of my models and I will contact the proper authorities. They will pay!

yup that's the beauty without the crystals on the base!

I'm trying to get it back.. it was some 11 year old kid that the parents weren't watching apparently. But hey I should have hid my models.


In the end Utaan ended up in a worse captivity then any of us...in the hands of chaos, since it can't be any worse than any 11 year old child.

I hope you get him back, i was about to "fire zee missiles!" I realized that I didn't have a completed picture of him with the crystals and writings. Can you send me one when you see him again. Thanks!
