Does anyone else have a model/models that never perform well, or that die every single game without fail?
My Eldar army has a particularly unlucky Ranger who is always the first to get hit by a blast template, without fail. After several games of being fragged by artillery and battlecannons, I named him 'Kenny' and painted his cloak orange. I even magnetised him so that he can fall apart on command.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made. |

that's pretty funny, poor alien scum. i guess that's the way it goes sometimes though back when i used to pay chaos i never had my land raiders make it through the first turn, i had to stop using them because it was too many points to lose in round 1 every game.

Any model I put together with a plasma weapon will "get hot!" and fail the following save the first time I use them. This, however, only happens to the "new kid" with the weapon, even my veteran sister superior with a plasma pistol couldn't excape. In subsequent games my plasmas seem immune to rolling 1's, talk about "breaking them in" edit: or letting them "warm up"...

My buddies Warp spiders are hilarious. Every game without fail they die before they can do anything. If they're ever forced to make any sort of test, they will fail
On the flip side, is Avatar is literally a god. After walking though an entire Space Marine army on his own, and having an ENTIRE Tau army shoot at him, taking over 70 shots an not suffering a single wound, he's sorta a legend around here

Rampaging Carnifex
|
My Flying Hive Tyrant. I think...I think he's got the downs or something. He's charged into combat with and lost against normal Terminators, Space Marine Tactical Squads, Necron Warriors, Imperial guard line squads, Tau Firewarriors, Tau Broadsides, Tau Crisis Suits, Kroot, Ork slugga boys, and generally anything he happens to meet. The thing will, without fail, miss at least 4 of his 6 WS 6 S6 toxic miasma assisted Implant Attacks. He cannot make armor saves. He cannot land in difficult terrain without taking a wound, regardless of his monstrous creature status. He's really more of a sideshow attraction where everyone crowds around the table I'm playing on to witness what incredible failure he'll commit next.
My venomc cannon armed Carnifex never hits with it.
I had an Avatar charge 6 Spinegaunts. Killed none and was killed in return.
Fire my entire 1500 point Eldar army at a Razorback carrying a twin-lightning claw librarian in 3rd edition. Didn't hit him.
7 Howling Banshees and 1 Howling Banshee Exarch with an Executioner charge a single Biovore. They cause 0 wounds. It kills one of them back and sweeping advances the whole squad.
Come to think of it, my entire Eldar army was cursed, so I quit them to start Tau. That didn't work out either. Broadsides and Hammerhead never hit anything. Crisis suits mangling themselves to death deepstriking into terrain. Crisis suits missing every shot of a game. My full firewarrior squads were having a good day if they got 4 or more hits when they shot.
Kroot did okay though. They always outshot the firewarriors, and the Shapers would always survive and kill off whatever ate their squad in close combat.

I converted and lovingly painted up a new dracon for my dark eldar army. So far she has died in every game I've used her without fail, suffering a variety of amusing deaths. In fact I think she has failed the shadowfield on the first roll in the last 5 games. Gotta love that '2+' invul!
Her recent deaths include..
1)The wych raider she had joined got shot down, everyone took a wound and I rolled a 1 for the shadowfield. She then got killed by a lasgun (goddamn rapid fire with 30 man blob =P).
2)Another game vs IG she had been merrily cutting down vet squads after poping my friend's chimeras. That is until she charged the command squad. Killed 4 of them, leaving the captain himself. He hit back, did 2 wounds, I failed the 1st invulnerable (note that we play that shadowfield wounds have to be rolled 1 at a time) and then my friend checked his roster and funnily enough he had paid the spare 10 points to give the captain a powersword. There goes the 2nd wound, splat.
3)Charged a squad of 6 Eldar jetbikes. Killed none. 2 Wounds. Failed shadowfield, failed armour-dead.
But I love her non the less =P.

My Assault on Black Reach Dreadnought seems cursed. Last five games it was used in I didn't get any rolls higher than 2 with it. It basically just walks up to the enemy shoots in their direction in order to get their attention so when they charge it or it charges them they can be ready for it's little dance (Swings and misses them so it probably is actually dancing because it isn't hurting anything >_> ) before it's rended into a burning wreck.

I have an Aussault Marine Serge called Barabus. (ironic..a little)
He will ALWAYZ die. And ALWAYZ fail. His most inglorius death so far was when he and his squad was tasked with taking out Jain-Zarr, who waz on one wound. He ended up dying first round. And he CHARGED. All his attacks missed and he fell when they took additonal wounds from the "And they shall know no fear rule"
Whenever he doesn't die, he fails to come onto the battlefield COMPLETLY. Even when he automatically comes on, he scatters off and is either destroyed or delayed. USELESS!
I have made it a point of honour that for his past failure he will be given the most suicidal tasks in a mission from now on. (Such as charging right into view of a vindicator or some other nastiness.) Hopefully, he won't FAIL to at least distract the enemy shooting.

Oh I got an interesting story about my primary unlucky model:
I've been working on my scratchbuilt Pylon for a while now, and the closer it is to completion/the better it's looking, the better it gets! Originally, I would roll more 1's and 2's to hit, and on damage tables vs SuperHeavies (like constant driver shaken/stunned). Now, closer to completion, all 3 Strength D shots hit, and I can take out Multi-Structure-Point SuperHeavies in one turn. Once it's fully completed, it will be completely unstoppable!
I can't get past how odd this phenomenon is...
