Never-Miss Nightwing Pilot

A relative of mine has started a Chaos marine army and although i know how to tackle Chaos with my eldar, im not quite how sure with my orks, theyre quite a new army you see. I think his army is quite elite, less of marines and more things like beserkers, 1000 sons and oblitarators.
So all veteran ork players, share your thoughts and chaos players tell me what you fear that is green.
My army is made up of 2x20 mobs of orks led by a power-klaw totting Nob. My warboss and his retinue of 5 nobz, with various stuff is my shock unit and is used to capture objectives (the Warboss alows 1 unit of Nobz as troops) theese will be mounted in a trukk. I also have 5 Nobz with sluggas and choppas to pack some punch along with the boyz. For fastness i have three deffkoptas with buzzsaws, rokit launchas and a bigbomm (and have already proved thier worth!) i have 3 warbikers as well with a nob, with big choppa. Finally for some fire support i have 5 lootas.
Any tips, i played Chaos only once with my orks and got massacared curse that defiler!!

I hate Lootas. So many shots from such a cheap squad. If I want to take them out I have to divert resources, as Lootas have a 48" range.
Chaos also doesnt like cover, as it's necessary to down your forces as much as we can before we get into CC, so a force field mek/killa kans infront can really help save guys. The difference with Chaos marines is that theyre more assault based than regular marines, so there is less shooting going around. Giving cover saves to those few vital shots can be extremely helpful when CC arrives.
Also, have full 30 man squads of boyz. Those 10 extra can be the difference between dominating in CC and getting dominated. Also allows your Nob with klaw to live longer, which ignores the 3+ saves.
Chaos is a tough matchup for orks because they can shoot you as you run up, and they can hold their own in CC. It depends on your opponent though, but I feel these are just some basic tips.

Yeah Chaos players generally dont like looters. Pretty much all of our long range shooters have more pressing targets to deal with.
Powerklaws are the baaaane of me. Bigchopper on a biker nob needs to be a PK.
PK, PK, PK. More PK. My orky friend and i call them krumpfists, and they loves to be krumpin' spikey boyz!

Ok ill keep those tips in mind. Ill also try to get my Boss and his Boyz into a fight were they will likely make mincemeat of his forces, as long as he hasnt got Abbadon-cringe!-.
It also doesnt help by the fact he's been in the Army for 2 or so years, so he will have all that war tactics up his slevve.
Any more tips???

Weeeellll.........As a Chaos player myself I would probably say don't rely too hard on vehicles or small groups. An elite Chaos force will struggle much more against hordes than elite groups. Oblitz will wipe the floor with most ork vehicles so take lots of BW's and Deffkopters. More rather than less. Also if he does take Ksons they will be pretty pointless against 5+ armour orks anyway so that works to your advantage. And for God's sake DONT get into CC with the defiler..that is suicide...spread out and let it's BS3 take the battle cannon right off your guys
Really just make sure to prioritize your targets and not waste PK's on Ksons, when they could be used on Oblits, Zerkers and Defilers.

As others have said numbers. For 1000 pt. game run 60 to 80 choppa slugga boyz, 10 to 20 lootaz, deffkopptaz with rokkitz, and have your squad of nobz and warboss. Also PKs in your squads of boyz. I cringe every time i see this hit the table.

Like others said, hordes the way to go. Chaos squads are small, but powerful. so overwhelming numbers tend to help a lot. You can either tie up those powerful groups, or just from the sheer amount of hits you get you'll kill them. 10 zerkers vs 30 orks usually ends up with the zerkers dead or damn near.
Also, if facing a defiler, do what all my friends do; throw a cheap, huge squad into CC with it and it will take the defiler so long to kill everything that it won't do much. Nothing more annoying than a defiler getting tied up with 20 orks for 3 turns because you can only kill 4-5 max every turn lol

Something that should also be mentioned. You won't kill Plague Marines. Not with a horde, not with bullets. You need big honkin guns to splatter them. Charging a Plague Marine squad will lose you that squad slowly to No Retreat! wounds. The only thing that I think you kill it reliably in CC (aside from Nobs) would be 'Ard Boyz, where you can minimize your No Retreat!. Chaos that runs only Obliterators against orks is not only foolish, but easy to beat. Get Deepstriking or Outflanking units (Snikrot or Zagstruk) and waste them. Oblits are so expensive to spam that he is going to be irrepairably crippled if you kill a squad or two of them by turn 3. I play both Nurgle/Slaaneshi Chaos (NOT FZORGLE) and Goff Ork hordes. This is more of a general rule than anything else, but you need to have a diversity of forces if you are going to succeed. I don't follow the "boyz before toyz" way of thinking with my orks. In a horde, you need tons of boyz to make taking any boyz worth while, but you can't ONLY take boyz (for example). It makes your list a gimmick, and with any gimmick (Fzorgle, Nob Bikers) you are disarmed by an opponent who figures out the answer to your list. This is a bad spot to be in, because you have nothing else to do but charge and hope the dice give you the game. If you always have options, you always have a chance to win.

I'd say get more bikers. A squad of marines might do considerable damage to those bikers, even when you charge, before they can do damage. Needs more bodies to protect the power claw.
