Hello, you may want to look at the old archived GW website, If it says that it isnt in the archive double-click the Refresh button, and the Photos aren't working for alot of the articles, but you can get their point

Here's the site

If I had a dollar for every dollar I spent I'd have all my money back.

My quick and dirty way of doing it is:

Base with Gnarloc Green
Highlight with Goblin Green
Then wash liberally with Thraka Green wash.

The end result is a dark green skin color with a bit of a shine to it.
On characters I do a bit of highlighting afterwards.

Orkhide Shade Basecoat > Badab Black Wash > Knarloc Green Highlight (several thin coats) > Very light Knarloc Green / Rotting Flesh Highlight > Thin Thaka Green Wash.. hmm complicated

I like sort of pickle-looking orcs, here's the recepie:
Basecoat: Dark Angels Green + Scorched Brown (50/50) -> Dark Angels Green + Scorched Brown + Camo Green (33/33/33) -> Snot Green + Bestial Brown + Camo Green (33/33/33) -> Snot Green + Bestial Brown + Camo Green (25/25/50) -> Thrakka Green Wash -> Highlights with Snot Green + Bestial Brown + Camo Green (25/25/50) again. Then you may want to add some bleached bone to this color for extreme highlights. Complicated, yeah

I like the more bright colour approach, for me it signifies there outlandish and crazy ways

Undercoat black,Basecoat Goblin Green, black wash, another coat of goblin green but leaving the darker colour in the recesses, then for each highlight I will add a little Sunburst yellow now if you want to darken it you could add some Devlan mud with to the skin and that will dull it down a little.

My orks go from cartoony to "real"

Cartoony:
base scorpion green, 2 washes of thraka green
base snot green, dry brush or overbrush scorpion green, 1, 2 washes of thraka green

*this will upset some people*
Tallarn Flesh base, elf flesh drybrush (or some other light skintone) wash orgryn flesh, or griphonne sepia (i forget what one looks red) also devlin mud

"real"
(assuming you have them primed black) Dry brush catachan green, light dry brush or something lighter, snot green maybe, light thraka green wash, maybe do some extreme highlights after washing
base graveyard earth, thraka green wash once or twice
base knarlac green, drybrush snot or scorpion green, thraka green wash

I like your flesh tone Orks WatchDragon , they look alot more menacing than the usual green. ( go Chaos Orks! )

I did the nobz (and all my boyz etc) in this paint scheme:
Black Undercoat -> Orkhide Shade -> 1:1 Orkhide Shade/Goblin Green Highlight -> Badab Black wash to tie base+highlight together -> Goblin Green on fine edges (lips, nose ridge etc) here is a pic for reference, but it's not that good quality so I do apologise!

This would be something NOT to do if you are going for a horde and want it done before the year 2020.
Keep it simple, remember that orks are used in mobs and it is more important that they look good as a group than individually.

i also field a bad moons army and opted for a lighter ,brighter skin tone to tie in with all the yellow i used.
i first painted my boyz chaos black and drybrushed on some goblin green to bring out the muscle definition, after this i applied a dark green ink and highlighted with a 50/50 mix of goblin green and scorpion green.
for nobs and warbosses i opted to use a 50/50 mix of catachan green and camo green in order to make them stand out.
