Hell yes!!! Put him with some berserkers and kill just about anything in your way! Hitting on 2+ when the usual maximum is 3+, immunity to instant death by force weapons, and 5 attacks, and 165 points? Definitely worth it.

To OP: I'd suggest renmoving his rules, as that is definitely against the forum rules.

Secondly: yes he is worth it. 7 attacks at S6 on the charge hitting like a MC is just fun fun fun.

He kills friendlies in the same combat, it isn't limited to the squad he's attached to.

I like him though I am also a fan of the old MoK, DW , Khorne Lord. But again, I would definitely keep him away from anything S8+

I love my Kharn (wannabe - uses the rules but different model). He's great at slaughtering enemy characters - usually before they have a chance to strike, if he gets the charge - and can carve through line enemies as well. Just played a game against Nids where he killed 5 Gaunts by himself, and a further 4 from No Retreat! wounds, for example.

He's also quite good at taking out big things, too. Tanks, Monstrous Creatures (I had him charge a Carnifex alone once; took it down to two wounds and was lucky not to get stomped on afterwards, but the resulting No Retreat! wounds the Carnifex took killed it off), especially with a bit of Powerfist support. He'll kill a few of his own men every now and then, but all blood is welcome to Khorne...

I'd be careful splitting him off from the rest of his squad, though. He's hard, but not that hard and will need support to finish things off from time to time, as well as provide protection once the combat is over.

Stick him in a unit of Possessed with an Icon of Khorne, and stick them all in a Land Raider. The Possessed's Iv5+ save will protect them somewhat from their Glorious Leader's religious fervour, and Khârn will add some much-needed anti-vehicle punch to them. If you really want to be evil, stick a Sorcerer of Slaanesh with the Lash of Submission and Warptime in the unit as well.

Im using he with a bunch of Berzerkers in Nurglitch list, this weekend.

There destroy anything they charge, I wouldnt use him with possessed, berzerkers are cheaper and better.

Berzerkers are cheaper, until you factor in the cost of a Skull Champion and his equipment, the cost of friendly stab-victims, and the fact that they're Troops.

That's the problem with Berzerkers: They're great at murdering other units, provided those units are not in vehicles, and capturing objectives. But Berzerkers are also Troops, and they're lousy for holding objectives. Like many Chaos Space Marine units they're a high risk option.

That means you need to inflate their cost with Troops that can hold objectives while the Berzerkers wander off to murder enemy units, particularly those attempting to contest objectives.

Possessed have the advantage of being more resistant to shooting and power weapons than Berzerkers, thanks to their IV5+, and the advantage of being more expendable than Berzerkers because they are not Troops, and the advantage of being a better Daemon magnet than Berzerkers: you do not want a Greater Daemon possessing your Skull Champions. Possessed Champions are the cheapest Greater Daemon hosts you can find.

That's not to say that Possessed are better than Berzerkers, but that they have a specific role to play that doesn't bring them into conflict with Berzerkers. They're a good bodyguard unit for Chaos characters, and a good anchor for a Deep Strike heavy force.

I used Kharne with 8 bezerkers in a land raider over the weekend against a Guard player. I didn't waste points on a skull champion for the zerks, I figure if they need a powerfist Kharne can bail them out, its already a crazy expensive unit.

We did the 12 inch long table edge deployment. Terrain caused the guard player to have to place one of his tanks near the front of his deployment zone if he wanted any LOS all game. He placed a stormtrooper unit with some upgrades nearby as a meat shield.

First turn my LR popped smoke and got some lucky rolls to survive.... Second turn I passed a difficult terrain test and got the land raider in charge range. The zerks killed the entire squad of stormtroopers and kharne smashed the hull in on the leman russ. Due to time contstraints we had to call the game at the end of the second turn, but Kharne was preparing to take a lot of Str 8 shots to the head and probably would have died.

Overall, I think he was a sucess, but will be hard to keep alive after he initially destroys something. One strength 8 shot to the face kills him and that is a real problem. It is definitely an argument to put him in a squad with something tough but cheap. Thing is, giving him a bodyguard is a waste of points because he can waste almost anything by himself.

I may try to figure out a way to join him with a squad of demons (cheap invulnerable saves to apply high AP shots to)

I know, thats why you split and charge solo. As long as they don't have a PF you have nothing to worry about (even if they do you'll probably kill the squad anyway lol)

I'd take him in 750pts, hes only a bit more expensive then a Demon Prince or Lord.

Kharn is wonderful. My friend regularly uses him, and he deals out a lot of hurt. Instant Death is kinda sad with him, especially because he can put out so much hurt. Keep him with a unit. If he's going in Berzerkers, max their size so he doesn't kill more than the enemy.

If you're ever in a team game, Kharn+Slugga boyz = godly.

What is so great about kharne with slugga boyz?

I usually send his crazy arse out alone, unless you do a poor job picking targets he can take out nearly anything by himself anyway.

My favorite is launching him out the front of a landraider at a squadron of tanks and watching him crush three of them...

I've rarely found Kharn to be worth it, fun as he is. S8 is too prevalent and he will get insta-gibbed almost every game. You can get a Warptime prince for 10 more points with MoN or MoT.
