how many units had cool fluff but had terrible rules/(rules that did not match the fluff) on table top
or units that had cool fluff but was never put in game.

Example: Ork Looted Wagon
How orks can take a haft a rhino and make it theirs is pretty cool
but how useful is a looted wagon in table top? Not very
their almost useless as transports but can almost make a good battle tank with their boomguns

Flashgits. Ogryns. Honor Guard. The whole Chaos Space Marine army.

The Emperor doesn't seem to do much for you but you sure are expected to be mutilated, suffer, and die to make him happy. And is he dead or what? If he's entombed that would mean he's dead as a doornail, right? So, how can he be happy about anything you do, or even give orders to anyone? Are you worshipping the dead now? Is that something you'd really want to do? Because it sounds freaking creepy to me.

I play looted wagons with the big guns all the time. Quite effective.

Flashgits are expensive, but very fun. Ogryns I'm painting right now, but I mostly play guard in Apoc.

Chaos? We have a ton of chaos players at the shop, and the army does very well. Yes, the Iron Warrior/4bassie/9oblits army is gone. No one that played against it misses it. I see a large number of very effective and rock hard chaos army every tournament.

Chaos Dreadnaughts are the disappointment though. Too unstable to get good use out of, and the defiler out-cools it.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

My problem with Chaos Marines has more to do with matching the fluff than power.

I'm beating a dead horse here, though.

Oh god, the Legion of the Damned got shafted so badly.

And let's not forget the Lost and the Damned, while we're at it.

It would be easier to just list the units we feel GW did get right on the tabletop.

Terminators in fluff are um....... ... . gods. dusting htem selves off after being steped on by a titan, being able to clear whole planets themselves in a week.

but if you wanted to make a fluffy termie on hte table top it owuld have a 0+ rerollable armor and invulnerable save storm bolters would be str 10, ap 1, 14d6 armor pen, poison 2, rending, 120" range, assault x where x is the number of enemy models on the table x5, and +6 to armor penitration rolls

so thats probly the reason why there so weakened

Oh yeah thanks, they also have 14 d6 armor pen, poison 2, and anything that takes a wound from them is removed.

A statline looking something like this:

ws bs s t w i a ld
11 11 11 11 11 11 11 11

thats right termies turn it up to 11

If some how defeated in combat you take the aditional wounds for his being fearless counting as being struck by his power fist.

Ain't Chaos Marines of the original Legions supposed to be the battle hardened vets of 10000 years of combat or fresh clones... so shouldn't they have 2 choices, regular marines better then loyal marines, and clone marines like blood claws.

CSM just about never make sense.

DPs, not enough options. I want a DP with Terminator armour again. Chaos Armor etc.

Chaos Sorceror needs anti Psi. Were in the bag with orks, with psi but no way to stop or hinder it.

Chaos Lord. Nice but not really the kick ass guy he should be. Barely better than a loyalist Captain, but is supposed to have thousands of years of experience....

Chaos terms, read above.

Chosen, were nice in the old dex, were mixed with terms, now one way to play it, and barely better than havocs.

Chaos Dreads. Read the old Codex, and like it, read current fire frenzy and blood rage and cry.

Possessed random rolls for what you get? why do i want rending when i could get power weaps....

Troop choices ok.

Raptors. Ok where are my old abilities?

Bikes, nice.

Ooops we ran out of ideas.

Chaos LR yeah so no more daemon spirit for firing guns regardless....SM get an upgrade though.....for 30 points only......

Yeah that was the Chaos dex. I could go on with the Nec dex. Or current nids.....Stop being nidzilla all the time...

yay for stuff, where about 70% of your stuff doesnt feel quite right.

3000 points.
5000 points and still growing when GW adds something cool.
3500 points centered around 25 Terminators and 12 Dreadnoughts
500 points and just started.

The Dark Angels army.
Orks are not totally what they used to be but they still retain a bit of their unique quirks that interested me the most about them. Plus only S3? Really? I thought they could rip an arm off a Space Marine and then bash his head in with it.

I will agree, Chaos has been bent over a table and given a pretty decent cleaning.

They get more attacks, though. And they get the strength bonus on the charge.

I would guess it comes down to a matter of fighting style.

I wish the Adeptus Custodes was a unit in warhammer after all their fluff is pretty entertaining and if the grey knights became units surely the custodes will also get the honor of being units. Just pray that if gw does create them they do it right. But they will most likely fail knowing Jervis is on the job.

Jervis- I know ill make each custodes 150 points each and give them jet packs and storm shields and bikes! AND 3 WOUNDS EACH!
AND A MAX OF 3 PER SQUAD!

ravenors nearly the same points to a terminator or more and has a 6 plus save 2 wounds, it is sad when bolters take down a squad of ravenors and terminators stride through your lines losing a man at a time while expunging you from the galaxy.
