Greetings all!

Our club is going to be running a Space hulk campaign. The idea is that everyone picks a side (marines or nids) and they play ever mission in the book as a that side. Then after its finished up depending on the wins and losses for each side we shall be playing a HUGE space hulk game with 5 or 6 boards mixed together.

NOW!!

Ive chosen to be the terminators for the campaign but Since i don't have a space hulk set AND have no nids or terminators to convert ive chosen to convert myself up a Tau "Counts as" force!

To this end I picked up enough Plastic stealth suits to convert into the marine team but the trouble was....

WHAT TAU TECHNOLOGY CAN BE USED TO BEST REPRESENT THE MARINE ENQUIPMENT!?

What I eventually decided was....

Power fist = Standard Stealth suit arm. Since its a basic combat stat for the game there was no need for a special conversion.
Storm Bolter = Cut down Xv8 burst cannon
Heavy flamer = Suit with Tau flamer on each arm
Assault cannon = Power cell enhanced Stealth suit burst cannon
Chain fist = Laser cutter
Lightning claws = .... Lightning claws
Thunder hammer = Cut down fusion blaster
Storm shield = Tau shield generator
Power sword/Force weapon = "Mini" Fusion blaster

The big one I had troubles with is the Librarian. Since Tau have no psi powers I just had to work out a way to count the powers with Tau technology. What I came up with was a Smart Missile system to represent the shooting psi powers and the mini fusion blaster in the same way as the Power sword conversion to represent his force ax. The Psi counters would be the additional power that the suit now requires to maintain the stealth field and support the extra weapon systems.

OK! Well im round 90% finished at this point. Just a few little touch ups and bases and im ready to Hulk it up.

That being said I figure Id show everything done to this point with some updated pics!

First off the Team as a whole.

BTW, can someone tell me if ive got the numbers right? Ive been told that there are 11 total terminators but ive also heard someone say its 11 + the librarian according to the box?
Anyway...
Power sword Sgt guy.

Im not 100% sure about the combat blade on his micro fusion blaster. But I think it helps add to his coolness Ill probably try and add some more equipment and maybe a bonding knife before I paint him.

The Librarian.

As you can see ive added the Stealth suit beacon gubbins to his back pack to represent an additional power generator the equipment of his suit requires. This also ties in to the limited amount of Psi points the character can use in game

My new favourite model, AND the only one with a name thus far La'Oghan

Im going to add some small grenade launchers to his shoulder pads to show his customised combat suit

Assault cannon

Heavy flamer

Thunder hammer + Storm shield

Storm bolter + Chain fist

And last of all. The "Red shirts"

As you can see ive still got a couple of bases and some cleaning up to do. But the team is pretty well game ready! NOW to learn to play

You get 11 Terminators and 1 Librarian Terminator.

Wow, awesome! That looks like it'll be great fun to play as. From a group perspective it is kind of hard to pick out who is who, but I'm sure that will become more clear when they are painted.

Have you chosen a colour scheme yet?

That is really well done. Nice use of counts-as and a good bunch of alternatives. The only thing I'm not quite sold on is the thunder hammer guy. Is there any way you could make it look a bit more close combatty?

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

I imagine the Tau version of a Thunderhammer would be something like a wide angle thermic lance, very powerful but short range only.

Great conversions -- I am looking forwards to the painted pics!

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Those are some really awesome conversions (I like how you used stealth suits too, kinda makes sense, a tau insertion team is also on the space hulk...or something )

I'm wondering if La'Oghan has a story behind him.
