The ruins of the Palace of Thorns

I am interested to know which models in each army people think are most desperately in need of resculpts.

Have fun (?!) copying the list below and adding your own choices. I've added a few obvious ones myself...

Chaos Daemons -
Chaos Marines -
Daemonhunters -
Dark Eldar - The entire line
Eldar - Jetbikes
Imperial Guard -
Necrons -
Orks - Buggies and/or Kanz & Dreddz
Space Marines -
Tau Empire -
Tyranids -
Witch Hunters -

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

Posting as Fifty_Painting on Instagram.

Forever alone

Chaos Daemons - Demonettes. They're meant to be Succubi, not ugly old transexuals.
Chaos Marines - Abaddon. The guy is meant to be huge, and he's the Warmaster of Chaos, but looks less scary than the plastic Terminator Lord.
Daemonhunters - I dunno.
Dark Eldar - Wyches. What's with the flat chests and male heads? Aren't they all women?
Eldar - All of the Phoenix Lords, except Maugan Ra.
Imperial Guard - Catachans. The new Command box is fine, but the basic infantry didn't get a resculpt. It's ridiculous.
Necrons - Looks OK to me.
Orks - Warbuggies, without a doubt.
Space Marines - Everything's good here.
Tau Empire - Commanders. Please, just give them XV22 battlesuits. I don't want my leaders to look like cardboard boxes glued together.
Tyranids - Biovores. I don't want my artillery to have gonads dangling from it.
Witch Hunters - Sisters Repentia. Please, just do it now.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

Orks - Kans and dreads
Space Marines - Basic marines. De-constipation-pose them!
Tau Empire - Battlesuits to look like the FW ones
Tyranids - Gargoyles
Witch Hunters - Helmetless sisters

I agreed with everything above and laughed pretty hard. Also I would add:

Necrons- Destroyers (their poses are terrible with that limp hand not doing anything and their single pose possibility), Tomb Spiders (worst 40K model currently)
Chaos Demons- Plague Bearers simply look silly; more like booger aliens from a Pixar flick then rotting, pestilent hell spawn.

I have a love /hate relationship with anything green.

Eldar - Warp spiders and Wraithguard; some new sculpts would be nice. Although the models themselves still look good - most of the other aspects have been redone 3 times in the last 18 years. These haven't. Some more variation is the THREE STATIC POSES would be nice.

Jetbikes: 'Nuff said. Hurry up and get those Jes sculpts into production you daft twonks.

Chaos: Just scrap the line completely ( I don't know anyone who plays anything bar a sorceror lord with lash, plague marines and oblits) bar these models.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

I don't understand the point you are making. Are you saying they need a resculpt of the chaos line because the codex pigeon holes every competitive list into taking 4 units? Where's the connection?

I think both plastic IG need a rethink. The Catachans especially would benefit from someone, somewhere looking at what actual jungle fighters (ie not Rambo) wear.

The Cadians look fine except for the heads, bring back the old RT heads or old Cadian heads.

Adding a sprue to the basic infantry squads with alternate heads, special weapons and a heavy would be an easy frist step.

Er what? "Actual jungle fighters" wear standard fatigues, variant boots, and usually forage caps. Or at least from what little uniform selections I've seen, and they(from Vietnam to the Australian SAS working in East Timor) seem to forgo body armor except for vehicle crews. Heck, the US 75th Infantry in Grenada forewent body armor for the most part.
So pretty much--you'd get...what the Catachans are wearing?

I can understand wanting new "light infantry" kits, and am all for that. Something like how the Elysians are dressed(fatigues, high cut tacboots, a tighter helmet, relatively compact body armor) would be awesome.

As for the Cadians and their helmets...
While the helmets are a bit...bulky, I dig 'em. They're closer to the modern helmets than the originals were. If they used the Forge World heads as standard, we'd be better off though.
Although, I'm absolutely 100% for Cadians to be resculpted and brought in with the Kasrkin armor made standard, with respirator options available for all the heads and blast goggles standard. Oh. And more backpack mounted weaponry!

Chaos Daemons - Entire Nurgle line. Nurglings are weird, plague bearers bear little resemblance to Papa Nurgle, Great Unclean One...
Chaos Marines - Lord on Juggy, Abbadon (I could beat that sculpt in a fight), Lucius. Legion plastics.
Daemonhunters - Nice range, but please for the love of God bring in some plastics.
Dark Eldar - *cough*
Eldar - Lots of the metal bits, don't really care about Space Elves though :p
Imperial Guard - Regimental Plastics
Necrons - Any of the metal kits, and make the Tomb Spider HUUUGE like the Defiler.
Orks - More characters from the Codex, other than that the range is the best in GW
Space Marines - Basic kits are fine, although I don't like the bikes. Metal characters like Dante, Azrael and PA Calgar need doing though.
Tau Empire - Plastic battlesuits like the resin FW ones.
Tyranids - Biovores, Gargoyles, Broodlord, Zoanthrope (change it back to one of the older ones, can't remember which) and plastics!
Witch Hunters - Assasins, they all suck! Sisters are fine, they look a little butch but I think that works well and counters the usual Sci-Fi nonsense women. Plastics would be appreciated.

Tau Empire - Kroot. Need to be easier to put together, with Kroothounds on the sprue.
Tyranids - Gargoyles.

Tied and gagged in the back of your car

Chaos Daemons - Daemonettes. The old ones were so much better.

Chaos Marines - Abaddon

Daemonhunters - Culexus and Callidus. Really, those two aren't THAT bad, but everything else in the codex is so fething beautiful that these are the only ones that could justifiably deserve a resculpt.

Dark Eldar - The entire line

Eldar - Jetbikes

Imperial Guard - Catachans

Necrons - Warriors and Pariahs. Make them look closer to the artwork in the codex, which is fething incredible

Orks - Kanz/Dreadz

Space Marines - Whatever it is, it'll be done anyway

Tau Empire - Battlesuits. They look way too boxy and awkward.

Tyranids - Gargoyles

Witch Hunters - Helmetless sisters. They look manlier then most of the male characters

Chaos Daemons - Daemon Prince! An awesome, multipiece plastic kit that offers lotsof options for mutations and daemonic gifts would be AMAZING. Also the current DP models suck.
Chaos Marines - Same as Chaos Daemons.
Daemonhunters - Plastic Grey Knights... how aesome would that be?
Dark Eldar - The entire line
Eldar - Jetbikes... they look funny as is.
Imperial Guard - Plastic and highly customizable Storm Troopers would be really, REALLY cool. They could also be used as Vet squads.
Necrons - I actually like most of the current NEcrons models, though PAriahs could use some help.
Orks - Buggies and/or Kanz & Dreddz
Space Marines - meh they get so much new stuff all the time its whatever.
Tau Empire - Probably Stealth Suits... IMO they're FUGLY
Tyranids - Plastic Hive Tyrant and Tyrant Guard please!
Witch Hunters - Plastic Sister of Battle would be really cool.

Chaos Daemons - Like other's have said, more feminine looking Daemonettes
Chaos Marines - Plastic plague marines that look more Nurgley
Daemonhunters - Not sure, haven't had the desire to play with them yet
Dark Eldar - The entire line <---That!
Eldar - Jetbikes <----Agreed! in plastic, in a box set. Maybe some warlocks on bikes too.
Imperial Guard - Female guard models
Necrons - Not sure, haven't had the desire to play with them yet
Orks - Buggies and/or Kanz & Dreddz <--- yes! Am I the only one that thinks war buggies should look like rat rods, or dune buggies, or like something out of the Mad Max Movies?
Space Marines - Lemartes. Heck, all the BA special chars need an updating/retooling. A chapter upgrade pack would be nice along with plastic Death Co.
Tau Empire - Female Tau fire warriors. At least have some female heads.
Tyranids - Not sure, haven't had the desire to play with them yet
Witch Hunters - Update and I agree with what was said about making the helmetless sisters not look so manly. Also more plastic models. More chars for Inquisitor retinue would be cool too.

Looking at Vietnam era US note the helmets, the sleeves (bare arms+jungle bugs=bad idea) and the backpacks! Jungle war is all about moving which means you're going to be carrying a lot of supplies.

On the Vietcong side (the folks who actually won the war) note the hats or helmets and again, loose fitting outfits that cover the arms! The jungle is not a gym. And the panchos, it rians in the jungle, it's kind of one of the jungle's defining characteristics.

Something 21st C, the Sri Lankan army. Of course they might not be the best equipped army on Earth.

Latest Marine jungle uniform. Body armor, helmet, sleeves.

So I'd love to see jungle fighters who are skinny (jungles ain't great for high protein diets either) have sleeves, capes, hats, and look even vaguely functional.

THe only way I've been able to stand the Cats has been to paint all that skin as cloth and cover those ugly heads.

Except also note that the US kit, while considered "standardized" was also ditched in large numbers by the general infantry.

Special Operations personnel were the ones who most stuck to the uniform regulations, substituting the olive drab BDUs for ARVN camo fatigues or storebought camouflage.

But I digress. Catachans are a fantastic chance to redo and get us some light infantry.

The warriors. Gotta go.

Legs are too big for a 25mm base, they spill out. They have only 1 real pose available. ANd I think the glow rods are more trouble than they are worth.

Chaos Daemons - bloodthirster.. the head on it just bugs me, the original was better.. and a bew dreadnaught
Chaos Marines - the bikes and doomrider.. they're all just aweful.. and maybe the obliterators, they look too much like terminators where lorewise they should be techmarine/adeptus mechanicus
Daemonhunters - assasins.. love the models, but i think they need some updating
Dark Eldar - ha!
Eldar - avatar is a bit lacking.. and the jetbikes of course.. but i like the vipe how it is
Imperial Guard - plastic version of other regiments would be awesome. mordian iron guard would be first on my list (with optional pretorian guard heads!)
Necrons - the models as a whole, the don't look made of metal.. i can't put my finger on why
Orks - buggies and tracks are in desperate need
Space Marines - the bikes
(black templars) - all the models are just awesome!
(blood angels) - lemartes! he's just a joke! plus the other special charters.. all need new models
(dark angels) - deathwing terminators
(space wolves) - Ragnar
Tau Empire - vesptid, they just look bad.. like something a lesser known company would produce for a game that no one plays
Tyranids - genestealers.. whole range needs a once over though
Witch Hunters - immolator just doesn't seem right to me o_O

Chaos Daemons - Everything barring the Demonettes....nothing looks remotely demonic or scary...its like Wlat Disney on drugs.

Chaos Marines - Tru scale or forget it......spiky little men, with big egos is funny not intimidating!

Daemonhunters - Grey Knights in Power Armour....these guys look like PeeWee Herman dressed in foil!

Dark Eldar - The entire line

Eldar - More female variants.....I mean, its in the fluff!

Imperial Guard - Catachans, in fact, everything that isn't Cadian!

Necrons - Pariahs.....come seriouslY!

Orks - All good, its a comedy relief army....

Space Marines - Did I mention true scale.....oh yeah!

Tau Empire - All Good, but the Etherials could use a going over!

Tyranids - Aliens, what more can you say?

Witch Hunters - Plastic Sisters, but don't lose the quality! These are the best miniatures GW currently produce!

Chaos Daemons - Not liking the new Daemonettes.
Chaos Marines - Abaddon. Especially awful when compared to the ForgeWorld version.
Daemonhunters - Seem fine to me, but I would LOVE a plastic Inquisitor with a host of head and weapon options so we could really customize them, much like the Space Marine Commander box.
Dark Eldar - Just about everything except for maybe the raiders. Eurgh.
Eldar - Hate Jain-Zar. She doesn't look anything like the other Banshees.
Imperial Guard - I'm pretty satisfied with this line, which is why I chose it. Again, multi-part plastic stormtroopers would be great. Kthx.
Necrons - Warriors are kinda boring, aren't they? Also, the swirly thing on the Monolith bothers me.
Orks - I want to see Snotling swarms.
Space Marines - Mephiston could be nicer.
Tau Empire - They need a new Codex more than anything. Models are nice enough.
Tyranids - 'Nids get more than enough attention. They've been getting progressively scarier, which I like.
Witch Hunters -Sisters need a partial rework. Metal models are too pricey and their hairdos are less than fierce-looking. Celestine, however, is epic.
