Hey guys
I've been thinking about getting my eyebrows pierced and i have a few questions regarding that topic
1)Danger-Is it dangerous to get your eyebrows pierced, because of the nerves?
2)Infection-Does it happen often?
3)Estimated Price-Only for the aussie guys/gals...because the states are cheaper
Thanks for any feedback!

I got one ripped out of my ear that way. I've never had anything but my ears done, so I really don't have anything to add. It probably will get a little infected at first, but that should be alright if you take care of it.

The chance of infection of any body piercing depends on the quality of the service operator, the area pierced and the care you take of the piecing after it's done.

I take a great deal of care to keep Frazzled from being punctured, especially by metal.

Oh, and if must get it done, go for a bar rather than a ring. Whilst it heals up, a bar is much simpler to clean and maintain. This done, feel free to switch to a ring.

yeah,
This seems overly negitive...
I've got two bars 5mm apart on my left eyebrow, I'm 30yrs old I've had them since I was 25. I get complimented on them alot.
Mine didn't hurt, It was just like getting a injection... And it's never been infected..
if your thinking of getting rings/loops, I've been told they can 'grow' out as time goes on... basically the shape helps your body reject them.

This is Trueish, although I never catch it unless I'm drunk! But Hair Dressers catch it all the fething time!

I'd Check this out, while It's not the most painful (that's nipples/tongues), I've been told by someone admiring mine that it's the most dangerous piercing becuase if it gets infected the nerves are very close to the brain...

It dosen't hurt half as much as some others (My labret hurt way more).
Infection = Not if you look after it properly. Savlon!!!
Danger = yeah sure there is, only go to an acredited place for peircings.
And i have lots of hair on my head...and i never catch it, I got it tangled in a net curtain once though....so lucky i was drunk or that would have hurt. It scars pretty bad when/if you ever decide to take it out.

I've often wondered why this is so in many cases, many people I've known with various piercings are extreamly inteligent people, artist.musicians, students and such, yet for reasons that make little sense to me,many businesses would chose to pass on an inteligent individual with a nose ring in favor of a dimwit who conforms to " the accepted norm".
Now,I'm all for personal freedoms, and I certianly don't belive in judging people because of silly things like piercings/or lack of piercings,it's just one of those questions that I find myself pondering from time to time.

Because if you're in a customer-facing job, that means that your image reflects upon the company. And while youth-oriented jobs, such as the guy running the tilt-a-whirl at the carnival, or the guy at the record store, aren't likely to care too much, the vast majority of companies out there realize that most money is controlled by people over 50, and would rather have their corporate identity as non-offensive to that demographic as possible. Is that really so hard to understand? If you're not going to have some customer-facing job, then I agree, it doesn't really matter. But if you're 60 and go to the dentist and are greeted by someone with bits of metal sticking out of their face, do you really think that the dentist is projecting a professional appearance?

Ultimatly I understand your point,However I suppose I will always be a bit put off that Ineptitude that " Appears profesional" is some how more preferable than an individule who "looks a bit strange" but who is more inteligent/would preform said job better.
I suppose I'm one of the lucky ones in that I make enough money for my family to live very nicely, yet my appearence ( piercings/heavily tattoed) isn't a factor,in fact,on the occasions when I do speak to my customers ( attempt to explain why drinking lots of wine and then going for a spin in their $500,000 dollar cars is a bad idea) they, more often than not want to know where I got my tattoo work done and rave about how they want to get some done...of course they could just be being polite.

Agreed Frazz,in fact I have on several occasions pointed out my friends hypocricy for being judgemental of people who have shown up at shows/clubs in "preppie" attire, IMO it's not about piercings, clothing, tattoos or lack off,it's about content and character of a person.

Here's a novel idea. Perhaps your face is fine the way it is and will not benefit from mutilating it. Just because a lot of people do something doesn't make it a good idea. Good luck whatever you decide.

I like how "conformists" say the only reason for piercings is nonconformity and it doesn't look "professional." This thread has show n how much you all listen to the stereotypes and don't know anything about the culture to it. Body building, implants, plastics surgery, etc all fall under the same umbrella as tats and piercing but you all seem to never add that in or any other stuff than it doesn't look professional.

Actually, they don't fall under the "same umbrella". I've never heard of anyone having a self-esteem problem because they don't have piercings, unlike the size of their breasts, muscles, nose, etc.. Also, piercings simply aren't part of the "image" that's presented as the standard for socially acceptable.
That said, I miss my cartilage piercings in my ear(removed mainly because many companies, even the generally seen as less "conformist" jobs like coffee shops, have a 2 piercing minimum).

It is body modifiction and that is the umbrella.
