I was lurker for some 4 months.Before dakkadakka I was part of 40kforums and I was irritated by their slow response on my threads so I went to join DakkaDakka.

I lurked Dakka long enough to know that it's seen better days. (I expect someone to reply with "if you don't like it then get out" or a vague threat involving banning within 5 posts. PM's count too)

About a year, found it in early in 2003, but didn't join till 2004 as my old login.

I've lost it sadly mainly due to three ISP changes through 2004-2005, that made me realise the best thing to do was to have a yahoo account as my main email.

It was a pants name though Captain Reaper or something like that as I was fielding a Scythes army at the time.

I lost an old Warseer name for the same reason around the same period, so I went back to Seer in 2006 I took this as a name. Then I brought it with me when Dakka moved to the new location.

But I tend to lurk for a while on most forums to see if its the sort of place I'd like to chat to folks.

a few months, but i used to have a profile on dakka, which I lost to similar reasons to you, morathi. it was something like warboss gutsparkz, the name of my ork commander... but that was over a year ago and I've forgotten.

I lurked for 3 - 4 days before I joined. I wanted some advice on some converting so I joined. One day, I will donate some of my own work (not money) to Dakka. (Probably at XMAS when I shall get a Laptop and a new camera. IPods aren't great for starting Plogs.)

Dakka is the only forum where I've lurked, usually I join in or simply don't read. I used to read lots of topics without feeling the need to chip in. I found the forum and would look in occasionally for over a year before joining.

Didnt lurk much. Maybe 1 hour or so.

I lurked dakka and warseer for like two years. I used to lurk spanish forums also, but there was always the same people writing the same stuff. And the activity in that forums is sooo low. So I realized that the most useful would be joining an international forum. And I liked this one better.

Tried finding some pics of a model on google and a dakka link came up.
So i clicked the link and signed up.

I lurked for about 6-7 months, i started when i read Borther Argos' p-logs.

I think a couple of weeks.
I am inclined to state things I see that are erroneous, and it took that long for me to find something I felt the need to correct.

I lurked for around two months before I joined. I joined because I saw the forums on background and wanted to answer questions, so I joined.

Probably about a month, though I've lurked on other forums for nearly a year before feeling the desire to post something.

Takes a couple of weeks to figure out how active the forum is and whether or not the folks are worth knowing. Usually I'm also looking at forums when investigating a new hobby so it takes quite a long period of time before I feel knowledgable enough to be able to contribute. On an established forum the "Search" function alone can give you weeks of reading.

Haven't really lurked on anything before, I just join and if I don't like it, I leave.

I read a few threads for a couple of days, saw these huge argument between two people called "Mauleed" and "Drew Riggo", got ready to fight Mauleed and then realised he was right and Drew wasn't.

So joined to fight Drew.

You're hardly the first, and unfortunately not the last.

I didn't lurk too much. I used to hang around Bolter and Chainsword all the time, and a friend would link me to some of the more entertaining Dakka threads. I joined shortly after. I liked the fact that it wasn't limited to power armored discussion, and the posters are/were snarkier.

On dakka maybe two seconds.

Things like Dawn of war forums, I just lurk.

I usually lurk a wee bit, but the Imperial Guard rumour threads were too good too pass up on. Ever since I've been slinking in and out like lightning, enjoying the crotchy locals, the endless complaints, learning new and interesting ways to kill people on my lawn and who our weekly new overlord is whom we should follow and obey!

Ahh yes, Drew Riggo. He was convinced that losing the ability to pick out power fists in CC was going to ruin 40k.

But yes, I was a long time lurker, and only stopped when someone did something stupid.

A few years of casual lurking. I only actually signed up so as to PM yakface about partnering up and taking over the site.

short time poster, long time lurker... 4 months or so, ... lurking lurking lurking 4 da new nids codex, . . . . waiting to see if my necronids will still work,

A year, two years maximum if I remember correctly.

Two months before I got in on the action.

Maybe Dakka Dakka will be OK after all...

I don't think I ever really lurked. But I don't remember the early times after a lengthy break.

I didn't lurk almost at all, I got a link from warseer to here and posted a list as soon as I could.
