His head is actually in there.. he's wearing like a visor. Reminds me of the optivisor I wear to paint.

I think so. One more night of modeling and several nights to paint, including Friday which I have off.

Got some more customizing to do on him. Since it's supposed to be me, I'm going to convert the slugga into an airbrush looking slugga, add some more wires and conduits, and improve the look of the grabba-stick. I was originally going to make it look like a giant paint brush (my grot prod) but I'll think I'll make him a paint brush boss pole instead. Granted he doesn't get a boss pole legally, but you get the idea. OH, and a sign for the engine on his back.

Actually I thought really hard about that. I have a couple of little medieval goblin figures I could paint up, but I'm runnin' up agin' a deadline and I'm not sure how much I can bite off.

OK, now the build is done. Since I'm treating this as a self portrait... he needed a brush of some sort. So I modified the grabba-stick with some GS and whoosh!!... W&N series 7 in hand and ready to go! Added some little cyber bits here and there in spots that needed some help. Beefed up the haft of the "brush" with chain. Also added a light bulb above his noggin' so you know when he's got an idea.



Should be ready to paint tomorrow.

I can see he is responsible for all the orkiest war paint.

OK, started priming the cyberherder *and* began the process of finishing the bases on all the grots Ifalna did for me (got the grit on). Going to be nice to get those finished as I'll have a full squad of 30 and enough left over to man the big guns, act as oilers, ammo runts, etc.

I wouldn't worry about getting T1 and T2's grots together and painted by Sat, that deadline is for us. Does that mean your going to make them Dakka accounts? Maybe keep the password to yourself so they can only log in while your with them? Might be a neat way to introduce them to the internet masses while still controlling a lot of the traffic.

Not a bad idea WM. At least with the older one. Not sure the little one is a good enough reader yet to be able to enjoy the experience. In any case, they can be members of the mob at home... I'm really accumulating grots like crazy. I've seen some fun old metal ones on e-bay that I'd love to add, but they're always too expensive for... well... grots.

Yeah, kinda thought T2 might be a bit young still, but T1 might be ready, and better here than facebook or somewhere worse. I thought it was kinda funny to see some of those old grots with the rifle-like guns painted up

I started working on their bases last night. The should be done and ready for photographing in a day or two. Love me some old metal grots. I'll probably break down eventually and buy them off the net, but I keep hoping if I go to more events and swaps I can pick them up for less than $5 each...

I had some of them, but they got stolen quite awhile ago. Still not real happy about that.

That's a damn shame. No excuse for that.

It totally agree, I got into orks so my son would have a "fun" army and it has rapidly become my favorite army

I started these orks in exactly the same way. My youngest still sees them as "his" army.

The cyberherd is really cool! Love the light bulb on his head. The DCM "enforcers" idea is awesome because that was A LOT of orks. Anyways cant wait to see that cyberherd all painted up!

It'll start tonight. I put the last bit of primer on him this morning (unlike most folks, I use white primer). I'm not sure about the spotlight on his chest... seemed like a good idea at the time but if I can come up with something better, I may replace it.

I'm hoping this will come together rather quickly... it is an ork after all.

Are we going to see some OSL from the spotlight Gits? Would look really nice coming from the middle of the model

Actually, I'm in the middle of re-thinking the spotlight. However... you will see OSL from the light bulb on his head. (I'm being generous to myself here in portraying myself actually thinking.)
