And if you're interested, keep in mind that they're partly pre-assembled. And by that I mean mis-assembled. My turret mounts are glued to their bases at an angle.

Thanks for the heads up, zedmeister! I just snapped one of the Miniature Market ones up.

I saw these in-person and was quite impressed. I figure I'll use the doors to convert onto some buildings or the like... since the only bummer with this set that I saw (other than the preassembly of some parts) was having so many doors with nothing to connect them to

What ever happened to that supposed expansion/ new box? I've found myself wondering this with the news of another CMON KS and Soda Pop getting ready to go at it on their own.

We've seen prototypes, heard Mike talk a bit about it, and promptly had it disappear off the face of the earth.

Is this going the route that SDE and Sodapop are with CMON? Obviously I doubt either party is entirely 100% happy with how things turned out with the first kickstarter.

Curious what the state of Sedition Wars is these days.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Mike posted this to their forums today:

The Quarantine Campaign was done at the turn of the year - it has been laid out and is ready for distribution. The reason why this wasn't finished earlier, is that it features the wave two miniatures, so until they were distributed to all the backers (and we all know what a drawn out process that was), there was little point in sending it out. The finished version is actually the third that has been done - I simply wasn't prepared to send out the earlier versions as they weren't of the quality I wanted. The finished campaign is a six scenario arc, and reads and plays very well - I hope you'll like it. All being well you'll get that soon.

The solo play rules have been in development for a long time, and have really caused a bit of a re-think into what the future holds for Sedition Wars - we'll be announcing what that is in the next few weeks. Round about the time of GAMA I believe. I'm excited to share it with you. It's been frustrating not being able to tell you all about it - but one thing I have learned since the Kickstarter is not to announce things until you are sure they are correct, and you can deliver them.

I can assure you though, Sedition Wars isn't dead (certainly not from my perspective) - I have 60+ new miniatures completed (amongst the very best Studio Mcvey have produced), as well as new art, storyline and a host of other things for the next part of the story. The rule I am living by with the new material is not to rush - I have been rushed into things in the past to the detriment of the product, and I'm not going to do that again. I'm sure the delays have caused some people to walk away and find newer interests, but hopefully we'll be able to temp some of them back when we finally show what we have been working on. You have to remember that Studio McVey is basically a one-man operation - and while I am posting on forums, or twitter, writing blog articles, or doing a lot of the other things that are on my (colossal) 'to-do' list - I'm not working on Sedition Wars, or the other projects I'm involved with.

I'm also not going to apologise the the lack of updates - I'm sure you're sick of hearing it. When I have something (meaningful) to say, I'll be delighted to share it with you all. The time for that is fast approaching too - as soon as we announce the next product officially, I will be drowning you in pictures of sculpts and painted miniatures - these will mainly be on the SM Facebook page (as I can get Ali to do that for me), but I will also try and link everything here. We ask plan to release some short runs of resin castings to promote the new miniatures.

That's all I have for now, there will be more soon though.

Ironic, given the wave 2 miniatures...

I can assure you though, Sedition Wars isn't dead (certainly not from my perspective) - ...

It is from mine.

The change in scale, and the massive drop in quality between the wave 1 and 2 miniatures has killed my interest in this game. I had this big pile of miniatures coming that I was all excited about... that are all sitting in a box untouched, because I can't figure out what to do with them. I sure as hell can't bring myself to try painting them.

Just resting for me (although the minis are involved in other things)

If decent solo rules appear however I could easily get excited again as I was very happy with 90% of what I got

I don't think it's dead at all. But I'd rather see them drop the board game idea and just go with skirmish game rules, that can use the same stat cards and all. Sell the minis separately in starter sets and blister/clamshells.

I too am curious about the solo rules.

I liked what I saw of the upcoming figures too.

I've been satisfied with what I got (then again I got mine dirt cheap from an online store), and I'm tempted to get one of the terrain sets. Hell, as I'm winding down from cleaning Deadzone figures, I've gone to recleaning a bunch of SW stuff now. I may grab another box since it's so cheap and those bases are pretty awesome.

LOL. I'm a little excited now as I am pretty sure I ordered a bunch of extra infantry to go with some Antenociti's Workshop vehicles, so since I'm a restic Ace now thanks to Mantic it may be pretty easy to get 'em cleaned and painted to tabletop quality. Does anyone know if the Vanguard dudes have had any or perhaps are upcoming releases for squad support weapons (missile launcher, SAW) or mortars/javelins/HMG teams?

Actually if anyone is selling their stuff, I wouldn't mind owning another set or two of the Vanguard infantry models.

There seem to be regular games going on ebay for under 40 dollar with shipping. That's not a bad price for all that restic if you've got the stomach to cut it. Plus a nice selection of bases if you want to part all that out.

After cleaning and cutting up Deadzone, I'm not as put off by Sedition Wars.

Hm, back during the KS, Studio McVey wasn't exactly a 1-man operation. Rob Baxter was heavily involved, and I'm sure Ali isn't someone who can paint and do nothing else.

Still. The stuff about the Quarantine Campaign having been ready for months and the Solo Play stuff seemingly having been on the backburner for a year or so now while he concentrates on other things isn't exactly endearing. The part about not going to apologise for the lack of updates is the worst part though - it's completely unnecessary and just makes him seem like (more of) an arrogant arse. Poor form. I won't be back for anything involving Sedition Wars or McVey.

I think it was a poor choice of words rather than an arrogance, although I can read it two ways.

Yes the Quarantine Zone campaign was the one they promised would let you play will all the figures at once (or something like that), so I can understand not releasing it until the wave 2 stuff shipped,

after that?

So just curious, KS drama aside, how fun/interesting is the game? I watched the video on the kickstarter and it seemed kind of... simple to say the least...

I mean, $35 on amazon down from $90 is a damn good deal, but if it's so simple, I don't know if I should even bother

So... Can anyone convince me to buy this?

if you like the models and have a use for them elsewhere, I'd say grab it for that price. The floor tiles are okay if you're into that sort of thing, and the bases are good quality - no two ways about it.

$35 is a pretty reasonable price for the box contents. $80, not so much...

It is customary to read a sentence from start to coma or full stop, not up to where it fits what you want to believe.

The above comment aside, you have the right, justifiably if I may add, to feel severely disappointed (to put it as lightly as it may be put) by the SW experience I really wonder how he can salvage that trainwreak, if it is salvageable at all.

Oh well, it was a nice idea that failed in almost everything.

Don't lecture me on how to read fething English, Ellinas filos mou.

Perhaps you need some lessons on how ellipses and hyphens are often used? Especially in light of your comment about commas.

Furthermore, the other section after the hyphen changes nothing of the message to me. I haven't seen an update of any kind from Mike in what seems like it must be close to a year now.

My disappointment in SW goes well beyond the sub=par products that were shipped, and the hyperbolic lies about it's quality as part of the campaign, but to the way that Mike personally chose to deal with pretty much everything on his end as well. Obviously CMON and "China" had a significant hand in the poor quality as well, but Mike seemed to fail in every aspect as well.

I'm super-happy with my SW stuff, but then I'm using it for Deadzone, not SW. (And bought it at a ridiculously low price, thanks to splitting 2 cheaply-bought boxes with Bolognesus).

The female sniper you get makes a perfect alt. sculpt Rebs commander, and the humans give you some better sculpt variety there if you want to use more than two.
