Yeah you are definitely low on AT. Eldrad and yriel and an 8 man council is way to expensive points wise for a 1500 game.

Yeah, I have no problem with Yriel, though he doesn't seem to kill much more than a single bigmofo in my games, but eldrad is way too much, you can drop him and afford a fortuneseer for 125 points less, though for some reason, I can't really think of anything to buy with it.

Eldrad will probably not get much more use than the farseer in, his three powers will be used to what, fortune the serpent, fortune the council, doom something? I find that a fortune serpent with a 4+ flat out save is enough to get to the enemy, then use fortune on the council to hop out and charge.

Yea definatly, just kicking around ideas for council in 1500 games. trying to make it work

I'd drop Eldrad and get some more men onto the battlefield. Maybe some elites or more troops. Or fast attack if you want to keep with the transport theme

As stated above major issue with this list is all the eggs are in one basket. All your opponent needs to do is focus fire on downing your council serpent and your hosed.

Well, I'd take a Farseer with fortune and doom,
and drop Yriel and Eldrad.
These guys are really not a must-have in smaller point games.

Definitely not, since Jetbikes are vulnerable to small arms fire
while Serpents are hard to take on even by high strength weapons,

alright, think I came up with something that makes a nice happy medium

Fortune seer 85
Autarch PW & FG 100
8 warlocks 1 enhance, 1 embolden 220
-wave serpent w/ scatterlaser, SS 125

10 storm guardians w/flamers, warlock, destructor 127
-wave serpent w/ scatterlasers, SS 125
10 storm guardians w/fusion guns, warlock, spear 120 (Autarch joins this group)
-wave serpent w/ scatterlasers, SS 125
5 dire avengers

Falcon, EML, HF, SS 180
Fire prism 115
Fire prism 115

1497

added a lot more AT with 2 fusion guns, autarch fusion gun, and warlock spear. plus added falcon for the 2 pulse shots and EML. lost 2 BL's though, and replaced all guns with scatterlasers so I could deal with av10-12 more effectively, and handle all AV14 with the storm squad and the falcon can do other high AVs

That second list is much better, IMO. Give that one a whirl, it should be competitive

Farseer Faenyin
7,100 pts Yme-Loc Eldar(Apoc Included) / 5,700 pts (Non-Apoc)
Record for 6th Edition- Eldar: 25-4-2

or I could do this without the autarch:

Farseer w/ fortune, doom, spirit stones, runes of warding 145
8 warlocks 1 enhance, 2 embolden, 3 destructors 255
-wave serpent w/ scatterlaser, SS 125

10 storm guardians w/flamers, warlock, destructor 127
-wave serpent w/ scatterlasers, SS 125

-wave serpent w/ scatterlasers, SS 125
5 dire avengers

Falcon, EML, HF, SS 180
Fire prism 115
Fire prism 115

1499

ORRRRR......

To boost AT, since the list might be lacking some ranged AT

Farseer w/ fortune, doom, spirit stones, runes of warding 145
8 warlocks 1 enhance, 2 embolden, 3 destructors 255
-wave serpent w/ scatterlaser, SS 125

10 storm guardians w/flamers, warlock, destructor 127
-wave serpent w/ bright lance, SS 145
10 guardians w/shurican cannon 85
-wave serpent w/ bright lance, SS 145
5 dire avengers

Falcon, EML, HF, SS 180
Fire prism 115
Fire prism 115

1497, leaves me 3 points to put a spear on council.

Essentially the 10 guardians w/shuricannon never get out, its a less cheesy way of doing the min 5 DA (which im already doing once). I do loose 3 template spam, but im hoping the council handles most things, and guardians are still fragile once they get out and is risky dumping both stormies out anyways, risking loosing both scoring units. So this might be a safer alternative that offers something to handle AV14 from range.

That's an interesting combo. I never tried it but can imagine how it could work.
For smaller pt games as here, Eldrad could be replaced by a Farseer with doom and fortune.
The army lacks Fire Dragons...

Drop eldrad for a seer with Doom + Fortune.
keep Yriel, drop down to have 4 warlocks.
put them in a falcon with BL and Holofields.
makes them pretty much safe.

use the saved points on either a squad of vypers with BL's or a squad of dragons for AT...i'll find a calculator and see what i can come up with

Sorry not sure what list you guys are commenting on anymore, this is the latest list update and the one im considering the most:

Farseer w/ fortune, doom, spirit stones, runes of warding 145
8 warlocks 1 enhance, 2 embolden, 3 destructors 255
-wave serpent w/ scatterlaser, SS 125

10 storm guardians w/flamers, warlock, destructor 127

10 guardians w/shurican cannon 85

5 dire avengers

Falcon, EML, HF, SS 180
Fire prism 115
Fire prism 115

1497, leaves me 3 points to put a spear on council.

Not 100% sure on destructors, since it might put the council out of assault range, and I could easily drop them and find points to put eldrad in instead.

You guys are amazing.

Yriel gives ability to reserve whole army and have it arrive fairly quickly.

Eldrad and Yriel have power weapons that wound on a 2+. Yriel has 5 attacks on charge and Eldrad 3 on charge. Never underestimate the ability to Fortune the DA serpents.

Anti tank is Fire Prisms, Witchblades, Scatterlasers. Shouldn't be too many LR out there.

Destructors are for horde control. Orks and Deamons!

Play what you like. Our opinions are meant to tell what our experiences have been. Take from that what you will.

yea my initial list had Eldrad and Yriel in it, but no one seemed to like the idea. and a regular autarch got zero love, mainly from the T3 and S3 weakness and 100 points for a reserve roll. Id like to fit Yriel back into this list, not sure i 100% need eldrad, my farseer is pretty pimped out. But I have no idea how id save 155 points haha, so I dont think ill be able to get him in there.

What we continue to hear is you want to do something with your troops. Why?

Your guardians have a threat range of 14"-26" after dismount from vehicle. BS3 and short ranged gun = fail.

I'm sorry, but when you only play 2 troop choices you can't get aggressive with them, especially when they are as fragile as guardians. Accept the mech style and have fun with council. They will be your game winners.

Troops job is to fly around and control objectives.

never said I wanted to use them. I actually specifically stated the 10 guardians never get out. Its a less cheesy way of doing 5 DA. The stormies could be used, but will only get out if they wont die. Council basically handles everything. If i was running 2 storm guardian squads I would use them, since 6 templates would hurt a unit.

and theres 3 troops, I have a DAVU

but I am on the same page with you about playing shooty mech, and let your troops relax and sit back.

Indeed, the Falcon is not a must-have unit in an Eldar army.
The small DA unit will also be rather safe in a Serpent with stones.
