Looking at it from another angle..

What will nids need to deal with vehicles? Improved rending, more abundant cheaper MC's, better high-strength shooting (Impaler cannons), stasis-grenade like biomorphs or abilities, massed cheap attacks etc.

Thoughts on the matter?

Venom cannons, heavy or not, can now penetrate vehicles.
But they S6 resp. S9 and hit by a small blast so that the shot will eventually scatter.
Moreover, hits with the vencom cannon will get an additional malus, -3 for glancing and -1 for penetrating hits.

Eventually anything will miss, so that point is irrelevant. It should be mentioned that at BS3, a Carnifex has a anywhere from a 70 to 80% accuracy with the blast template, depending on the size of the vehicle. What it lacks in penetrating power, it makes up for in accuracy.

The big contenders are going to be the Hive Guard and Zoanthropes though, for obvious reasons.

What about abilities/weapons that have the "2-6+ to make an automatic glance or penetrating hit" ?

I'm not just suggesting ranged weaponry here. I thinking how will they be able to deal with things like a monolith, I'm hoping arbitary glance/pen or some form of str10 weapon.

Zoanthropes have S10, AP1 Lance shots, and you can take three to a brood.

Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

Nids have all kinds of anti-tank now. BoLS had a Tyrrano-nid that had a S10 Assault 2 weapon, don't know if that is correct or not.

Zoanathropes in Elite gives lots of shooting.

Lictors and Zoantrophes can be instantly killed in the new edition.
That's bad news for Nids players.

But what they make up for that loss is a lot of strong new abilities along with numbers and cheaper costs. Most likely it will even out

I honestly have no idea what wuestenfux has against tyranids, but it sucks to be him because he's going to get a huge wake up call when he plays them.

Even if they don't get the pods, they still have a 3+ invul and will probably remain effectively individual. That is going to take some doing to purge, especially with the target saturation you can put out. Make no mistake, Zoanthropes are their best anti-heavy vehicle.

Taco, it is right mate.
thropes are now BS4.
And thier attack can be a blast for infantry, or the much stronger S10 AP1 lance at 18"

So yea, you will see alot of these

Failing that, hive guards will be dropping 2 S8 shots each without LOS.
The heavy venom is capable of killing tanks now.
Trygon/maw deepstrike (burrow) will do the job too.
Fex's are still about, and S9 too.

Im sure there will be more, but so far, nids seem to have the best anti-tank of any army lol.

Suffused with the dying memories of Sanguinus, the warriors of the Death Company seek only one thing: death in battle fighting against the enemies of the Emperor.

It's not much more dangerous than a dude with a meltagun in a transport.

12" move, 2" disembark, 1" base, 6" melta = 21" threat range

6" move, 18" range = 24" threat range, but is subject to psychic shenanigans.

Time to bring a GK with a psychic hood, hmm?

And this guy with the melta usually misses to hit,
at least in my Tactical units.

i thought there was something in the nids codex that made them ignore rolling for psychic tests and their abilities auto going through..

Maybe so, but I don't think it'll be immune to psychic hoods.

Psychic hoods are still effective vs the new Nids.

Yes, Old One Eye is coming back. The Red Terror won't be, but he is mentioned in the fluff.
