I find it mostly good, one of the main reasons that I bought the books was their fluff.I was excited to read about the non-military side of 40k universe(there are no vast armies in DH).
Rogue Trader fluff is pretty nice to me because it shows Rouge Traders as a free men and as a privateers of the Imperium.

ROGUE, not ROUGE!!! Aaaaargh!

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

To be honest, this isn't a review, just a single very brief opinion. Imagine reading this in a newspaper: "I liked the film Sherlock Holmes. It was nice that it showed him as a clever detective."

For future reference, when reviewing stuff you should talk about what the book is trying to do, and whether you feel it succeeded or failed. What type of roleplaying game is it trying to be (in this case it's a detailed, rules heavy game with an emphasis on tactical combat - opinions on how well it succeeds are divided). What feel and setting is the game aiming for, what does it do to enforce this and does it succeed (it's looking for a dark sci-fi investigation, and while there aren't a lot of mechanics to support this it's a fairly direct and well realised concept).

Just talking about that stuff should fill up 500 words and give plenty for people to discuss in a thread.

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”

Adam Smith, who must have been some kind of leftie or something.
