Looking forward to it, hopefully you can capture the look of those heroines in a plastic kit, if so. I'm in.

The theme's going to be the same, yes.
The Sisters of wolves are going to be a SG army though, not the main dish of our next kickstarter.

You know what would be nice? Wolf helmets for the wolf sisters.

I really liked the sister kits, especially how the fantasy and sci fi bits were easy to use with both.

I'm still waiting for the War Maidens too!

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

@Highlord
Wolf helmets... sure, that would be an easy addition!
There's so much people can do however even without the additional pieces, these pictures came into our attention a single day(!) before the release of the Sisters of Wolves.
Check them out, the guy who posted them comes under the name "nordic_painter", credit to him/her!

The paint job looks great. The models are awesome. Dropping the Torah on the ground? Not cool. I don't even like putting James Patterson books on the ground.

I'm curious what those characters on the base are. Aurabesh inspired runes? A mix of Hebrew and Katakana?

But seriously, cool minis, and I look forward to the (helmeted) Wolf sisters.

We will be sending out a survey to see in what order our next Kickstarter is going to set it's Stretch Goals.
In the meanwhile we would like you to write down your wishlist here at Dakka. What new army would you like us to create next?! :-)

Thank you.

PS. Picture for attention!

If you guys want to try making bigger and meaner looking lizard, I wouldn't mind.

Otherwise what about those male Krumvaal heavy infantry? I know we saw a render of one a LONG time ago.

Or the spider girls in plastic?

How about some retro steampunk/diesel punk space infantry?

Diving suit looking space suits and ray guns.

+1 for the Spider Girls.

I would also be interested in some Dune-style Fremen or Sardaukar-like troops with aforementioned diesel punk weaponry...

Urusei Yatsura, Cerebus the Aardvark, Machiavelli, Plato and Happy Days. So, how was your childhood?

Well, there are currently zero nice heroic scale "good guy" elf kits on the market.

Mantic have their fae skeleton elves and oathmark have their 25mm ones. Don't know how large of a market there would be, but the nice GW Island of Blood elves still command high prices on eBay.

If you want something with more cross over for current Games I'd go with Male barbarians aimed at getting ahead of the eventual GW darkoath release.

Last Sword make some great good guy elves, although they are not as heroic as GW’s. Also, they are plastic resin...but nice!

Sure, there are plenty of decent elves in metal or resin. I am talking about sweet sweet plastic Bob. Plastic good guy elves that don't look like malnourished children next to other common fantasy miniatures.

Started a poll right here.
Should make things easier for everyone (since the Aracnomaidens/Aracnowraths for example alone are a dual kit at the likes of $60,000 so that's very unlikely to fund by itself if we start with that!)

Thank you.

There's going to be a Kickstarter early 2020 for an entire sci-fi army in which there's going to be a hard-plastic kit planned, affirmative. We can't reveal more than that atm.
What I can state is that if the project performs really well, we will have stretch goals for more kits and armies, but we aren't counting that much on crowdfunding like previous years.
If it goes really well, great. If not, let it fund and we are cool all the same. The company is creating high quality ranges in order to supply our world and our game; little by little we are getting there!

I hope the fur on the back is an accessory that does not have to be added. It would be silly for every single tank to have an identical piece of fur on it.

@Justyn
The fur on the wolf tanks is cast as a separate piece and does not have to be added, affirmative.

However our early 2020 sci-fi KS does not start with the Sisters of Wolves (nor will they be even mentioned during the KS either for that matter as a possible SG. We plan to unlock specific factions first, complementing our sci-fi range.
IF the project reaches high enough and we are given the chance to also create the SoW, great. If not, let's fund and all is great all the same!)

Mantic already make those in plastic, board game plastic, restic, metal and resin.

Not a fan of those ones; I'm confident Shieldwolf could do a better take on them. Also would be down for retro dIving suits with ray guns

LOL years ago someone on the Miniatures Page forum let out a long explanation why things don't get made. Part of it was:

"I want Flatulent Grenadiers for the War of Jenkins Ear."
"'Ere you go governor! Just cast them up!"
"Sorry, no. These are 20mm Heroic and I want 20mm realistic so they can scale with the Flatulent Grenadiers I got 20 years ago from guy who cast them in garage."

That must be what it's like to be a mini maker.

What makes you think you’d like Shieldwolf’s any more than Mantic’s? For that matter, how is Shieldwolfsupposed to make money pursuing a niche market that is already almost-but-not-quite completely served? Have you tried just buying some Skaven and giving them guns?

There are some retro diving suit aliens in plastic in the Shadows of Brimstone line, with some armed versions coming out next year.

@Skarsol, these are arachnomaidens, sir, not arachnomadams! Arachnomaidens do not tease, they court, and a gentleman always displays patience.

Well, for my part I've also craved more sci-fi rat options but it probably isn't the biggest niche to fill, since they can't counts-as anything GW (or at least, not as easily as other options).

I think it's hard to tell on a forum what would truly have the highest demand - the poll is a great idea, and if you settle on one maybe you could make a test render and see what the reaction is here / on social media / etc. Then if the reception isn't as strong as expected, you could change course easily without investing too much.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with next!

@skarsol
We will be making these available directly via retail, there have been issues with their moulds however and that has been obstructing the entire release.
It costs us more money than you think, the faster we make these available the better for everyone. We will not release anything however that doesn't pass QC, and these have not been passing it; simple as that.

@RiTides
Unfortunately for companies our size apparently a single test render doesn't suffice, people are used to seeing the "whole picture" nowadays on KS (which for us it should not be necessary, but let's not derail the matter). Therefore we are putting a whole lot of more skin and crossing our fingers the Science Fiction community will like what they see.
Our current poll (along with the eminent email survey) should provide a more clear picture, on the poll alone we are expecting more than 1000 votes casted.

The plastic sprues of the Forest Goblins have arrived at Athens.
Currently the schedule is to mail these to our backers on December (a month earlier than estimated on Kickstarter) and put them up for retail late January.

Afterwhich we will see what our 2nd sci-fi plastic kit will be, after delivering our sisters more than a year ago!
YOU decide :-)
