@ Rose: I have just been goofing around with the Zombies (I have a pile, unprimed) but I think completing a few different test models is a good idea! I'll post them for Dakka to decide.

@ShatteredSoul: Everything looks brutal, or just the Psykers? I gored the PBS up in order to practice blood spatter and shades of gore, plus I count them as my Penal Legion sometimes (along with my Beastmen Legionnaires).

Generally awesome all they way round.

Oh, and the 'coast guard' look fine!

I think the "Coast Guard" is a bit off. Maybe a darker blue and a more "boney" yellow. Your army is great none the less

The PBS is especially brutal looking, but the entire army looks great so far. Lets see some test schemes for the conscripts.

Nice work though I think those yellow-blue zombies could use some washes, highlights and a bit of detailing

Those Conscripts aren't supposed to look like "Coast Guard" so if they don't, that's good. I just thought they kinda did.

I just finished some tests of the Conscripts so I'll post them right after 40k club tonight. I'd like the get your opinions.

For my Zombies, I've decided to make them a mismatch of different regiment colors. I'll probably have every ten or so models be from a different army. It'll let me experiment with new schemes and such. Here are first Zombie tests:

This is the first time I've used more than one color wash, and on specific areas. (For my normal Guardsmen and Vets I actually just wash them completely in Devian Mud) All the washes on these guys are based on the color, green on green, blue on blue etc. I am going to touch up the blood and highlight later.

Here are two objective markers I've worked on. I try to make themed markers for my opponents. I typically fight; SW, Tau, DE, WH, Tyranids, CSM and BT. Here are my Tau and SW markers. I have an awesome BT marker that I will show later.

Here is my Harker model. I made him in a half hour, right before 40k club, but I still think he came out great.

And lastly, this is my Army Case with Battle Foam in it. Props to Battle Foam for having such great products because now I can fit nearly everything I need in my one case! (two layers a foam, with 9 vehicles on the bottom)

edit: I forgot to mention; give me any suggestions you guys have for other schemes for the Zombies! I want to make them really contrasting.

Nice work on everything there

Regarding the Tau objective marker, the guy is executing them with a plasma pistol... I wouldn't have thought there would be terribly much left of their head after that

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Yeah true. I did not take a good shot of it but, the first Fire Warrior (already shot in the head) has a chunk of his head gone (the back right half) but my camera angle is bad. Looking at it right now, I should probably expand it a bit.

Thanks to all for the C & C. I just finished building a mini Chimera for my Company Command Squad. I love the Centaur rules, but I don't play DKoK so it simple resembles that type of vehicle. I got the idea fro another member's P&M blog but I can't recall which one. I'll show you guys the model tomorrow.

WOW, nice army. I like the zombies, the colour scheme looks good.
Love the PBS.
But I don't like Harker, he seems to Ad Mech, apart from the head.

Hey guys, here's a quick update of the personal Chimera for my CCS.

Props to patzgcrux and his "drop tank" over here.

I wanted to create the classic look of infantry riding on top of tanks. I count the hatch as the firing hatch and access point (measuring from the back). It only carries 5 men typically anyway, 7 if I buy Bodyguards.

really awesome, any other ideas? what about rough riders, or or ogyres, or psykers, those would all be a bunch of places where interesting conversions can take place.

I tested Rough Riders out recently using bikers to proxy and I was really unimpressed with their performance. I was really considering making a biker squad (converting scout bikers to be rough riders) but their overall FAIL on the battlefield has made me reconsider. Also, I originally wanted to make a team of Ogryns by converting AT-43 Red Blok Kolossus models, but yet again I was underwhelmed by the Ogryns in game. I ended up turning the Kolossus' into Armored Sentinels (the Kolossus chassis on Sentinel legs). I can take some snap shots of them tomorrow.

This blog is pretty impressive. I have just skimmed through looking for what models those sentinals are based on, but didn't see.

To contrast with the greeny brown of the plague troopers, you could try a reddish orange for the zombies? Perhaps they were part of a penal company that the guard soldiers sacrificed to nurgle when they turned?

I put the mini-Chim together and started painting it, but I ran out of Dark Flesh (due to my poor mental inventory) so I'll toss up finished shots once I get more paint.

Here's what I got for now:
