Actually, I wonder if the Plague Hulk's being partially plastic might have been a decision pressed unto FW from the main studio. I seem to recall some chatter about the same happening with their plans to make all-resin plague marines, which GW torpedoed for some reason.

Gah! Now you've got me thinking about Nurgle's "low hanging fruit"
Like the lines on the Tau suit, but the weapons don't do much for me. Seems a little too patched together especially in contrast to a sleek suit.

Seriously... a 999 point model.
Those rules better span several pages to make it worth it to be used.
But hell, I agree with Panic, more Nurgle.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

yeah,
FW can't hurt GW defiler/soulgrinder sales if you need GW parts one to make the Hulk!
With the Resin CSM & CSM terminators, you still needed to buy a complete GW plastic set for the legs (and arms).
being you only ever get exactly the right number of legs, GW will never lose sales to FW when hybrid kits are involved
Except for me this just ment that I ended up with lots of spare bits to mix with old models...
I started with the plan to make 10 FW Nurgle Terminators, but with all the bits left over I ended up making 30 terminators. http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/210134.page I should finnish that blog...
I think It will be the same if i buy these Hulks, I'll want to mix the body with tracks and other kits, meaning I'll have defiler parts to spare...
Panic...

Love the Nurgle model! Unfortunately without a Mark of Nurgle, his kills won't count toward Epidemius' tally. I sent an e-mail to FW asking them to add in a blurb to add a rule/clarification that would allow it.

That crisis suit kicks so much ! Oh, my checking account is screaming in pain and misery! Why can't GW turn out a kit like that instead of the block POS that call a Crisis suit. I am glad to see that FW is making Tau more Anime than Imperial in style.

Forgeworld wrote:The Plague Hulk of Nurgle Blood Slaughterer of Khorne with Impaler Tau XV-9 ‘Hazard’ Close Support Armour
The Plague Hulk is badly-named, but a great adapation of the Defiler kit based on the Soul Grinder concept - I'm sure it'll see a lot of play. 5/5 With the new arm, the Blood Slaughterer still doesn't impress. Why GW couldn't have chosen the Defiler / Soul Grinder as the basis for the kit, I can't imagine - you'd think that a Khornate Soul Grinder would be an easy slam dunk to fill this function. 1/5 The Tau XV-9 suit is beautiful, like the other FW Crisis Suits. I really hope GW can redo the Crisis Suits following the FW designs. 5/5 So two home runs and a whiff for the month? Not bad.

As an aside, it looks like the XV9 'Hazard' has the same articulation for the lower arms as the XV8s that FW does, so you might see the arms going on sale soon.

At the bottom of the second page it says that other variants are coming soon. And yeah its the same articulation on the arms. Completely missed that its a fast attack choice. Nobody feels that 65 pts is too much?

I don't know about the plague hulk just yet. The Blood Slaughterer variant head is certainly hurfing and durfing.
That Crisis suit is very Armored Core of them. I generally like it, but then I realize that their is no way a Tau can realistically fit in it, and the weapon placements are awkward.

I always say "Grey Knight Terminators with Thunder Hammers and Storm Shields." Because those would be amazing.
For the releases, the Crisis Suit is going to be a serious issue for my Tyranid swarm I think...

I always say "Actual, updated crew models for the Basilisks" and "Conversion kits to alter Cadians with cold weather gear".
Fingers crossed on both
But I had an interesting thought in regards to Railguns' comment.
You know that Crisis Suits aren't "worn" like Terminator armor, right? There is room for a pilot, but they seem to 'pilot' it rather than 'wear' it.
Either that, or the XV9 is drone operated. Either way would be kinda cool

Yeah, I know. But comparing the suit next to a standard crisis it just seems so thin that it can't possibly seat anyone inside it.

Darn, he also still has those silly crisis feet with all the weight set on the toes and no heel. What a goofy looking foot; I thought they solved that with the broadsides. Anyway, maybe it can be fixed up, and have several superfluous missile launchers stuck all over it to serve as a decent Gundam Heavyarms Custom stand-in.

...why would you try to pawn it off as a stand-in for a heavy weapons suit?
It's a fast attack choice, so it's almost guaranteed it's meant to be a Tau answer to Warp Spiders and other fast striking assault troops.

Tau pilots are curled up in a fetal position with a needle stuck into their spine to operate the suits, so there's room for one in there, but not by much.
