If I recall correctly, it was Gwar! I asked what the Noise Marines are all about... They are expensive, their statline and equipment may give them a slight bonus for CC and if paying a bunch of extra points, you get some better weapons... So basicly, Emperor's Children are BAD. They cost almost as much as a termie with their nescessary upgrades, and they have pink armour.

The Black legion. Best fluff, best character, and you can use all units and still have a black legion army!

FOR THE WARMASTER!

"And what are the achievements of your fragile Imperium? It is a corpse rotting slowly from within while maggots writhe in its belly. It was built with the toil of heroes and giants, and now it is inhabited by frightened weaklings to whom the glories of those times are half-forgotten legends."

Well, yes.

The Black Legion can use anything, and can have Abbadon whom some say is the best character in WH40K. Then again, I atleast find the Black Legion to be pretty dull.

Remember that you can invent any paint scheme you want, though, and make up a Legion of your own.

I say it is a toss up between the Word Bearers and the NightLords.

The Word Bearers are just flat out evil. When you really think about it, they were the first legion to turn via Erebus and his warrior lodges and it was really Erebus that corrupted Horus.

The Night Lords have really jumped up in my book after reading their novels because while they are traitors they value themselves above all others. That and the who dying chapter as well as the loss of their primarch ties them to little so you can really have some fun with them.

The black rage is within us all. Lies offer no shield against the inevitable. You speak of donning the black of duty for the red of brotherhood; but it is the black of rage you shall wear when the darkness comes for you.

I like the Night Lords because it's an entire legion of murderers, rapists and thieves xD

Black legion. Abaddon is winzzzzzzzzz. Which would explain why I've never seen his model on the shelves in the handful of times I've been to GW. Never seen him, ever.
I've got 4 terminators sitting around here waiting to be a retinue for him, but I've never seen the model in stores....hrm.

Thats interesting, I have never seen him either in the (granted they are VERY few in number around my area.) Hobby shops in my area. I'm thinking of either them, Night Lords or The Purge. But it's more between The Purge and Night Lords.

Night Lords, because BATS! and BAT HATS! AVE DOMINUS BATS!

I know it's pricey to buy all those BAT HATS, but trust me, my friend has a fully painted BAT LORD army with ALL BAT HATS ALL THE TIME and BAT PLATING on his BAT TANKS and a crazy BAT DREADNOUGHT that is filled with BAT RAGE and BAT TEAMKILLING. It look BAT-TASTIC!

Also, BATS

HAHA! I'am leaning more towards the Night Lords. If I do chose them however, I'm going to need some instructions as far as paint scheme goes. I want it to be a lot like how this guy paints his figures:

Well I would start with midnight blue and light (almost white) blue highlights, with brass trim. The lightning bolts that go across their armor will be hard to do though, you will need a very steady hand and a good fine detail brush.

And here's an army list recommendation. My friend always uses standard chaos marine squads with flamers, bolt pistols and CCWs in Rhinos, supported by a Defiler, sometimes a Predator, sometimes Raptors, a Dreadnought, and far too many Obliterators. He demolishes me EVERY SINGLE TIME

@Riffzor

actually, EC can be very good if used properly, its a matter between balancing out the CC factor with the Ranged. EC sonic weaponry can be quite good in taking out infantry and with the addition of a blastmaster, can help with vehicles. If you want a EC army thats good in CC, i would add some summoned daemons, for the simple reason they are quite cheap but highly versatile. Plus, pre heresy EC (purple with gold trimmings) are much nicer than the pink and black ones.

Read Soul Hunter if you're collecting Night Lords. They portray the Night Lords as Traitor Marines, and Abaddon and the black legion as b*******. Abaddon IS hench in the book though

And EC are very, very, very, very, very powerful when used correctly
One of the most underrated units in the chaos dex imo

Why do you need to know

Thousand Sons, Oracles of Change or any rogue Tzeentch themed army because Sorcerers are awesome.

Potentially, with 6 box's of 1k sons and 2 sorcerers you could have 8 psykers in one army.

Still, painting Night Lords is similar to painting Thousand Sons, check the GW site for painting TS.

Thousand sons are my second choice. I wish they were cheaper though....and if they had thousand sons dreadnoughts...Although the fluff says nothing about them,so I doubt they exist.

What about the forgeworld Thousand Sons Dreadnought, buying one costs almost the same as buying a metal Chaos Dread.

It only costs £3 more than a GW metal Chaos Dreadnought (cost of body and both arms).

Normally FW would be too expensive for me as well but paying £3 for a much more detailed model which isn't metal seems like good value for money. I might actually fork out the extra £3 for one.
