Savis: Though the table looks static from the set up, things got crazy! Remember though, that was but 1 of 4 tables. (#3) The 50+ Thunder Cav attempted to steam roll down the Left Flank of the Chaos forces, while they peppered them with Apoc Barrages, templates and fed them throw away Traitor Guard infantry (tactics)...Warp Rift was opened at the base of the right leg of the Emperor Titan, which we agreed allowed Nurlge Daemons from the Daemons Codex to come out and regular Daemons from Chaos Space Marines Codex...the big Daemon Lord Scabbiethrax assaulted the Emperor Titan on Turn 2 and kept it locked up for two turns of Close Combat!

mindfield: Yup...thus the saying "live be the sword and die by the sword" comes to mind!

powerclaw: Thank you! We endeavor to make our Mega-Apoc games "incredible" not just to have fun but for the eye candy factor! Table #3 "parking lot" had 3 Zaraknynel Slaanesh Daemon Lords, and 2 Scabbiethrax Nurgle Daemon Lords upon it, along with a host of Super Heavies ranging in all eras of Warhammer 40K...very cool to see! Table #1 where my Khorne Legion teamed with my Brother, Lord Slaughter (Dave) showcased 2 An'ggraths the Unbound (Khorne Daemon Lords), 2 Chaos Warmammoths, 21 Bloothirsters, 2 Uruaka the Warfiend Khorne Daemon Princes, 18 Khorne Daemon Princes, 16 Dreadnoughts, 170+ Chaos Termies, etc, etc...

Madmax1: Well, it's "invite only", though I tend to open invitation to everyone I meet. There a are a few players I just refuse to allow to play, because winning means too much to them, and they don't like some of my rules...send me a PM and I'll contact you!

deejaybainbridge: Glad you liked it! More pix to come...

Fifty: I think many look at Table #3 and feel that all the tables were as such...but in reality there was plenty of space on the other tables...especially once Apoc Barrages and other Templates began to land, and the Assault phases...we all had a ton of fun, and the meta-game tactical side still has the gaming crew talking...September aint that far away!

dbsamurai: LMAO!!! This was a funny reply, thank you! LOVE IT!!! We've done the "teleporter" thing in the past before I ran the events (and before I even played 40k), but they can be time consuming and greatly slow game mechanics...something I avoid and set rules as such to prevent as much as possible. You may be interested to know though, in August (don't have set date yet) we'll be taking our Chaos Legions and invading the LA Battle Bunker for a Chaos Legions vs the Bunker mega event! Send me a PM and I'll give you more info!

yournamehere: Well the game was actually very playable, and Apoc meta-gaming is what takes it to the next level. Tactics change on the larger scale side of things, and prioritizing targets and threats and Personal Objectives changes much! There are still a few kinks we're working on to fix, for smoothness of play, but overall we're having more and more players join and the Armies continue to grow...(good for sales!)

Also, keep posting these megabattles please. Stuff like this is like the nicotine patch to the warhammer-deprived stretch that is my university life.

YES. If I stumbled upon a couple hundred thousand dollars, I'd buy three of every set on GW's website (6 of every troop) then I'd proceed to buy an EVH Frankenstrat Replica, then I'd buy a taco.

Hopefully it's early august, that's when I'm leaving...
and actually I meant with rolling tables (Ill try n splain)
five tables, with two sets of two and then one in the middle
when a model gets to the far edge ROLL THE WHOLE TABLE over to the middle table and connect it
basicly you move the whole table to allow you to reach your models
it gets pretty cool
Also, try an 8'X1' Bridge, that turns into a warzone all its own

Sitting on the roof of my house with a shotgun, and a six pack of beers

That's just insane.

On IG table scatter couldn't of been an issue.

The scenary on Table 4 (the white buildings) are they scratch build? if not where did they come from?

PM me and ask me about Warpath Wargames Norwich or send me an email

Dessloch: SKULLZ FOR THE SKULL THRONE!!!

Samus_aran115: Well, if it's any consolation, i've been playing for just over 16 years now...long time to collect models!

CrazyThang: Thanks! And that'd be totally cool if you wanted to swing by to watch, or even particpate in Sept at GMI, or this coming August at LA Battle Bunker!

dbsamurai: Wow...that'd be way too much work for us! LOL! Though we do have some cool alternative ideas for Sept...

Gorechild: EXACTLY!!!! lol

SpankHammerIII: Yes, insanity is part of our motto at GMI Games! "CRAZY!!!" The white buildings are scratch built by the shop owner Rob, who's making them for sale to the gaming community...I'll get more details on them this weekend while i'm there for ya!

Why did you have such extreme point imbalances on three of the tables?

If your gonna have that many points you really need alot more room for movment, i find apocalypse works best on a break down like this:

0 to 6k points = 6x4
6k to 20k = 8x6
20k to 40k = 12x8
40k up = 12x12 or floor game

if you dont have this much room it just becomes a dice off that eats up too much time and get dull fast

That table's a little crowded - not too much manoeuvre there.

RustyKnight: Well, points imbalances had to do with last minute (week) drop outs...this event actually almost didn't happen as two of our main players were almost unable to make it, via crazy work inventory days!

jae4x4: There are all kinds of guidlines people like to use, however a lot truly depends upon the actual Armies fighting and what kind of Army Composition the Apoc Organizer is holding everyone to. Example for our games, 20% minimum Core for your lists, which will be increasing to 25% and then 30%...helps keeps the game balanced, but also means a lot more models will be on the table. Because of the sort of limited space, and original match ups skewed by players not being able to attend, we had to last minute switch and rotate players and tables...but all in all the games were all fun and very crazy!

Scott-S6: Yeah, 1 out of 4 tables got crammed up, mainly due to the players/Armies we had to assign to that table. Too many I.G. guys! LOL!

Now that is the best way to counter deep striking units.

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.
