Get thier number, and then text them when you need to tell them something game related.

Refuse to speak to them person to person...That aught to learn em!

Dont care if people text during a game, its their choice, And I do the same

I had no idea people were so uptight about texting.

My thoughts are: as long as you are paying attention on your turn and taking your armor saves and such without me having to ask then I'm fine with it. Walking away from a game inexplicably is very rude but simply asking to take a short break is actually quite nice sometimes (I can make tactical decisions while they are on the phone!) and even I may want a break as well. Now, talking on the phone is another matter. Whenever I get a phone call/text during a game it is usually important, I excuse myself and take care of bussiness like an adult (remember, life doesn't stop for warhammer). But talking is much more distracting to the other player.

Gratz bro. Even still, we live in an age of constant connection to others and the world around us. The very least you could do is play a game with friends for a couple hours without a digital stimulant

Although I don't have any issue's with my current gaming group I'm going to remember this just in case it ever happens with a new member, cheers

All that matters to me is if it interferes with the game. If they don't want to watch me move or shoot, then no problem...they just have to trust me. If they want me to back up or wait for them, then no.

I'm on the fence, if it slows down the game then it annoys me. But that being said on my opponents turn I have an extremely bad habit of wandering around a couple of nearby tables and looking at paint jobs and the current status of other games. Granted I only do it doing the movement phase It still can tend to get on some peoples nerves I feel this is the same situation. If you just ask them to stop they probably will I know I stop wandering when asked so I don't see why they wouldn't stop texting.

Yeah very true i found on here lots of people take the opponents M phase to relax.. I find paying attention to that help me with my tactics/movements

Already done this, I have a fairly busy life so when arrangeing a game with one of the local vets I got his phone number just in case I had to cancel, by turn 3 he'd been away from the table 4 times (to shop, to chat and to take 2 phone calls from mates), so I text him saying his Hammernators got squished by CC Scouts, he rushed back to the table to find 31 wounds against 8 termis (2 having gone to BP fire), "Yes mate they definitely all hit and all wounded you should've seen it!" he didn't stray again and the remaining Hammernator pissed himself and ran.

and if its txting your dad to pick you up in an hour no probs i do it all the time but if its like "hey whats up? no im not busy" then its annoying.

As long as it doesn't delay anything, or if they have it on vibrate, it doesn't really matter

The catch is that it should not interfere with the game.

Important calls/texts aside, its rude to do it if you opponent is having to get your attention so they can roll some dice. This is similar to people who have conversations with others in person while playing. Its just rude.

As long as it doesnt slow things down in anyway. But I am starting to get rather anal about that as alot of people while hanging out feel the need to be on there phone the whole time and I find it rather rude.

If your soooo interested in talking to someone go hang out with them and not try and juggle things around.

As long as it does not interfere with the game, it's fine. Don't text during your turn. Do respond when your opponent asks you questions during their turn while you are texting. With these two simple steps I think you can avoid any texting unpleasantness.

It depends entirely on who and where your playing. If it was a competitive game or i was playing in a local shop or at a club I'd say keep it to a minimum. If its with friends or at home and you're in no rush people are free to do what they want. If I'd rather text my girlfriend than watch you spend 10 minutes moving 100 orks then your not going to stop me. If your sensible you dont do it whilst you have something to do, and if you cant take 5 seconds to roll a couple of saves then I can see it being anoying though. In my experience nobody is a big enough douche to just make everything stop every 5 minutes unless its an emergency.
