No, you're not the only one who doesn't like it (note that they changed away from this for a reason in the first place).

The ammo feed makes it look like an autocannon, not a missile launcher. Seriously, who puts banana clips of missiles into a big metal fish?

Oh, right,

Duuuude

That'd be so cool if they did the rest of the RT heavy weapons.

I recently found a whole bunch of mohawk scouts at my FLGS inluding those over the shoulder heavy bolters, because of their sheer epicness they've replaced my old scout models

I agree with Ailros and Deadshane1, I rather like the current Devastators.

Mind you, this pack does capitalize on the current Missile Launcher and Melta Gun fetishism, while providing Flamers for those who realize Melta Guns don't work against hordes. Rather a smart move.

I'm waiting for them to produce a resin combi-weapon pack though...

WHY?
Tactical's can't use it in the current rules and its not very effective on a MOTF.
Any time I've used my MOTF/conversion beamer he is never in the situation where using it is his best option.
Now if GW reurned to allowing it as a Tac Squad heavy weapon........!

I field a Master of the Forge on foot with a Conversion Beamer just about every time i field my marines, and he almost always gets to use it within the optimal range Band vs vehicles(42"-72"); then gets to use it for several more turns at shorter ranges before he finally gets locked in combat.

Fielding one on a bike is even better as you can move 12" away and still Fire the Beamer; keeping the enemy at bay and toasting vehicles as you roll around the table.

I dig it. Much nicer than the old one. The odd retro aesthetic is fun.

At least you can tell what it is now, the old space marine missile launcher looked like he was carrying a dead fish on his shoulder.

Great that you've had better luck with your MOTF/conversion beamer.
Last time I used mine during a campeign weekend I had him standing on a hill to give good line of sight, first move I managed to crew stun a Russ (Bad dice) 2nd move he knocked off the battle cannon, then he was assulted by a Storm Hawk. He died to the Dreadnought and his supporting squad died to 6 assault terminators.
I have never used him since.
I used to use a MOTF/Conversion beamer biker.
Still have him but I prefer a " plays as Khan" captain leading my bikes.

My favorite shoulder mounted RT weapon is the autocannon.
During my last Heresy era tourny, my standard marine with autocannon destroyed a weapon from a White Scars demi-Titan (Warlord).
Only after 2 thunderstrikes had destroyed its void shields

The only thing i hate about them is , why would the missile fins be open at the back of the launcher??( i mean there not going too fit down the launch tube) but over all its great piece to have in a tact or devie squad ....

It could be a two-stage missile with a propellant casing, but then what's the point of the fins?

You're right, it doesn't make a whole damn lot of sense.
