The model was flashing in the video with it swithched to constant on, you can switch it to sound/touch activated and it is not as bright or fast then, depending on the noise levels in the room.
you could sell alot more if you catered to space marine players as there are more of them than the rest of us combined.
Captin driving his sword into the ground.
Or any librarian model.
Both would have to be in terminator armor to fit the base better.
for instance the librarian from space hulk.
But if your real good with green stuff, selling your own interpratation of the tyranid doom of montiay or any brain bug for that matter might sell well.
I wouldnt bother disguising the base, the disiared effect is there

Subject: Re:New Illuminated Necron lord flying base.
Well Ive just finished working the Green Stuff to decorate the base, this was my first ever experience of this material...why didnt anyone warn me....its a nightmare to work with, but as I said, i am an amature, but im persistant and now I have an reasonable looking base, im pleased with it so far, ive gone just for a rock looking base, as I get used to working this stuff I might will try and get a bit more adventurous, its basecoated chaos black at the moment, I will paint it to look rocky tomorrow then will get some photo's up of it.
All thats left to do is work out a cost for it, if im to attempt to sell these!
Right here is the first attempt I have ever made at modelling a base with GS, ive gone for a smooth rocky look for them, Ive used all GW paints on this, differents greys, some green and brown, followed by a devlan mud wash, im pleased with it for my first attemp and my son is over the moon with it for his necron destroyer lord, what do you think??? advice is welcome.

Im starting work on the next one of these now, and im going to attempt a chaos theme on the next one, as this disk glows a sunburnt organge colour, so thought of a lava effect on the base, with maybe some chaos spikes sticking up from the base, what do you think???? any ideas would be appreciated.
Deeks2010 wrote:Already looking into a monolith, as for the power supply on them, all the electronics including a on/off/sound activated switch and two triple A batteries are housed under the disk in a small black box 60mm long by 48mm wide with the depth from edge of disk to base being 23mm so quite large, just need to disguise the box some way.

When I get around to doing a Mono for my Necrons Im considering using an LED or a small fiber optic strand to light the crystal at the top. Hell, with fiber optics I could run a strand to ever place I wanted a light if I felt motivated enough.
Whats my game?
Warmachine (Cygnar)
10/15mm mecha
Song of Blades & Heroes
Blackwater Gulch
X wing
Open to other games too
Right just finished the lava effect one, will get some pics and a video of it later, this one flashes firery Orange

You must remember these are with the setting set to constant on, it can be switched to sound/touch activated, the effect is slower and not as bright.
Ive now got some pictures of the orange one......
Im quite pleased with this one.

That is amazing Only problem, it's pure AWESOMENESS would distract from a game (allowing you to sneak attack the enemy while they gaze in awe at your awesome base )!
I would use insulation foam instead of the greenstuff. Would cheaper as it seems you are using quite alot on 1 base, and also you would get a clearer rock effect by carving the foam. Just an idea, otherwise very cool!
