Not sure how I missed this fun for so long...

Hummer and Lorry look great - no problems there. Was putting the bulkier wheels on the front planned or luck?

Goresaw wrote:After perusing the rumors thread and all the buzz going around about 6th edition, kill kannon battlewagons could be absolute monsters (three kill kannon shots a turn if I'm reading correctly)
Unfortunately, you still can only fire each weapon once per turn. On the upside, it has to take a lot of Weapon Destroyed to stop it firing though!

Your Meganobz look huge! Not that that is a bad thing - but it's making your Warboss look a bit weedy (which generally is a bad thing )

I like the concept of the Big Mek, but I think more details are needed before I'm completely sold - he seems a bit rough around the edges (modelling wise, not Ork wise - can't be too rough around the edges Ork wise...) Paint might make up for it though. The Mekanikum symbol is an ace idea - I might loot that

Keep it coming!

Haha thanks.

I put bigger wheels on the front intentionally. I'm saving two sets of small wheels to put on the back of a "big rig" truck. It's going to look like a semi-tractor trailer cab. At least in theory. We'll see when I eventually start making the plasticard fly.

I agree, the mek needs more fine detail GS work. I haven't had time since I started painting my warboss.

And have no fear, thats just a bit of perspective playing in on that photo. The warboss is still quite a bit bulker and bigger than the meganobz (although that one in the picture was a bit taller than I had intended, the rest are a bit smaller). The Ghazzikins model is still HUGE though, and I can't wait to show you guys the finished product this weekend (if everything goes to plan and another pipe doesn't burst in my bathroom).

Finished my namesake. Not going to win me any golden demons, but I'm happy with him.

And yeah, compared to my scratch meganobz, he's kind of small. Or at least not as HUGE as a warboss needs to be.

So... I'll just have to build bigger next time. Muhhahaha

Also I need to go to the store and buy some more lights. The lighting I'm using is just terrible for taking mini pictures.

My painting seriously decreased my warboss' effectiveness. The first game against the Tau got his battlewagon marker lighted and blown to pieces, leaving him to foot slog against crisis suits...

Second game he ended up getting insta-gibbed by an archon with a husk blade. Who knew those little panzies were so dead 'ard?!?

Grot for you guys. You may recognize the inspiration from those far better forge world models.

Well at least he looks damn good while he's getting blown to bits. Either way he's fightin and that's all that matters to him

Your warboss looks cool. Where did you get the squig? Or is it all GS?

Cool stuff Goresaw! When I first saw the hummeresq trukk I actually thought that was an original model just orkified. Great job on all the card work. Really inspiring.

I agree with Fatty the rivets are stunning. They add a great touch to some awesome scratchbuilding.

@ Awesomesauce

The poor guy. As much as he likes fighting, I imagine he also enjoys having his soul. Those mean old Dark Eldar. Maybe if they spent more time smiling they wouldn't need to drink so many people's souls.

@TaWaaagh

The squig is 98% amateur green stuff. The other 2% are the fangs (which are horns from one of the boyz heads). The photo's light is a bit to harsh and doesn't show a lot of the subtle shading I put on the squig. And his name, by the way is Mista Squiggles.

@fatty and M0rdian

Haha, yes I've seen them around. Such an austere group that truly understands the core of 40k. Rivets hold the universe together. Dare I say... more powerful that duct tape?

I've been super busy with work (when am I not)/

But project updates:

*10 new shoota boys fully painted (combined I now have a mob of 20 for a good firebase).

*5 new Nobz. The nobz kit is fantastic, so there's very little conversion here. Only major conversion is a Nob with WAAAAGH banner made of greenstuff and card. Need to finish a painboy for them.

*Battlewagon fabrication is complete. I'll get you some pictures soon. Its fully rivetted and I added a removable dethrolla. The deffrolla is removable attached to the reinforced ram that comes with the kit (its to cool to leave off). I think the wagon looks silly without it attached. The rolla itself took a full weekend of fabrication to assemble. Who knew that a toiletpaper tube would take so long to cover in plasticard plates and rivets?

*Big Rig trukk construction. I have the frame cut up and assembled. Two battlewagon tyres on the front and two little tires on the back. The grill and "engine" compartment are assembled. The goal is to make it look like a big Peterbilt semi. My goal when I get home is to assemble the driver's compartment.

Pics to come later. I hope.

Thanks Viktor. My only regret is I haven't built as many robots as you have.

As promised... a boatload of new pics.

First off, I have a show case now! In my 'office' area we've constructed some shelves to show off my growing army. Here's all my painted stuff on display.

Second off... my wagon.

Here's one next to a stock trukk for scale. He's a big boy.

Finally, as promised, the deffrolla is fully detachable.

And here's a quick pic of my nobz Waaagh banner.

Display shelves look nice, and the army looks good so far.

That's a brute of a wagon, good job

And some nice gs on the banner too.

Trukks. Trukkz. TRUKKZ. I love TRUKKZ. <3 <3 <3

Here's my newest trukk inspired by several different dakkanaughts' work.

Its not glued together yet for easy of painting.

Here's the chassis

Driver and his rocket gunner. I have to admit I got lazy and just went for a rather simple rocket launcher.

Here's the grill and cabin top.

Finally, putting it all together.

Now I want to buy another trukk kit for the trailer...

I want to maybe even playtest some rules for a Bigg Rigg. The idea is you can use it to transport Kanz or big gun batteries...

Oh well.. now I must paint. Or finish putting together my nob squad. I'm sculpting a syringe hand for a custom painboy. Its shaping up quite nicely and will have pics soon.

@awesomesause the poor little guy has gotten forsaken as bigger projects came along. He's sitting next to his boss, the big Mek unpainted waiting for my next frenzy of painting. I've got a nob squad to paint now too... and I'm seriously considering getting some Dark Eldar to paint just to switch things up.

@Arakasi last time I checked, you're already there! Unless you just haven't bought your horde of trukkz!

@SevaggioSaky I'm not much of a marketing guy i guess, haha.

And more pikturez!

So I'm a dirty traitor. I bought a dark eldar battleford and a venom today. Wow, these models are so delicate looking. So very excellent. Compared to the bulky brutes I've been painting for years, this is a HUGE change. This is going to be quite exciting...

Spiky panzies. My orky side is enraged right now at my choice in modeling projects.

in a fire... AAAAAAAHHH!!$*five@!!

Bloodsplatter: I tried watering down some GW Blood Red, dipping a coffee straw (the really thin diameter ones) in it and blowing/spraying it. If you aim carefully you get a cool randomized effect. The trick is not watering it down too much so it doesn't run all over, and aiming just off the model so it catches the finest part of the spray.

I like your boyz, they look great. I think my favorite is the one knocking on the auspex.
