Source?
I take it you don't spend much time in the news and rumors section. Beasts of War confimed May 5th release, as well as some leaked pictures. They're all in the Necron rumors thread. They look pretty boss.

Indeed! Those wraith models make me tingly in the pants
You still have your pants on? Mine were blown off this morning when I saw the Spyder and Wraiths!

I've waited long and hard for them. Lol.

That's a pretty good list, Jy2. A little light, can't be assed to add it up, 1850 pts?

I'm not impressed with the "constant theme", mixing CC and shooty is fine as long as they're *threats*, ie, force the opponent to make hard choices in target selection. The units need to be scary. All your units are scary. This is good. All you need to do then is get them into position at about the same time. Also a lot of different ways to skin a cat there.

I might want another pulse, seems like a long range shooty army could wait you out if they get initiative. But that's just me.

Yeah, I am having a ton of wins with this list:

Bombs Away Necrons: 2000 Points

Necron Overlord - Warscythe
Catacomb Command Barge

Necron Overlord - Warscythe
Catacomb Command Barge

5x Warriors w/ 2x Habinger of Destruction, Solar Pulse
5x Warriors w/ 2x Habinger of Destruction, Solar Pulse
5x Warriors w/ 2x Habinger of Destruction
5x Warriors

5x Deathmarks w/ Harbinger of Despair
5x Deathmarks w/ Harbinger of Despair
1x Triarch Stalker w/ TL Heavy Gauss Cannon

5x Canoptek Wraiths - 3x Whip Coils, 1x Particle Caster
5x Canoptek Wraiths - 3x Whip Coils, 1x Particle Caster

3x Annihilation Barge w/ Tesla Cannon

List pretty much covers all my needs for anti-tank, cc and counter assault, decent anti-horde army firepower, and the Deathmark kill-squads are murder on high-wound or priority targets.

I've been debating adding a Tremortek or two just to slow down CC armies, but I haven't had a chance to test that yet. This list had had a ton of success for me against Orks, GK, Space Wolves, vanilla marines -- even Dark Eldar.

@drakkenj:
Interesting. How's the Stalker been working out in your games?
(I've usually found that one doesn't really accomplish much on its own, apart from getting shot to all hell).

Use a Gauss Cannon and sit it at like 36" in cover and plug away at what you want to kill. If you put if off in the middle of nowhere your opponent has to make a pretty concerted effort to take it out. If you move it into easy shooting range you are gonna be in trouble.

This works even better if you have lots of other scary as hell threats on the table. Kind of forces your opp to decide if they want to plug your Stalker and ignore your CCB or Wraiths, or killer Deathmark Squads, or Scarabs, or Destroteks. I don't mind losing a Stalker in 1-2 turns of shooting if they have given my other units time to do their business. Most of why I see people losing Stalkers is early is they try to march up and use that sweet Str 8 AP 1 gun with melta to blow up vehicles.

Embrace the Stalker as a force multiplier and simply be happy hoping to get a few pot shots off with a long-range Str 9 AP 2 gun, and let your other units rain hellfire and brimstone down on that unit after.

After the people I played with saw what those Deathmark Kill Squads did and what CCB were doing, and Wraiths, they were not really terribly concerned about that AV 13 walker in cover sitting way in the back doing a shot now and then. Other was too dangerous to ignore.

Okay, cool. Been trying to decide whether I wanted to re-incorporate Stalkers back into my lists after seeing what the model's going to look like.
As a matter of wondering, do the DespairTeks in your Deathmark squads have Veils of Darkness? (or are they just foot-slogging it up to their marked targets?)

You have a lot of ways you can use this squad and it depends on who you are playing. Hunters from Hyperspace is definitely the riskiest but cheapest method of deployment, but I use it against armies that reserve and just take the chance. VoD is definitely the most reliable, and I'd recommend it if you are considering using the squad. It gives you the flexibility of reserving your Kill Squad or simply deploying them and then VoDing next to that squad you want dead. It is 30 points which isn't cheap. I'd never footslog these guys for the most part. The key to this Kill Squad is simply dropping them next to what you want dead, and then unleashing hell with the Rending Sniper rapid fire guns and the flamer template off the Despairtek.

I'd go with the VoD and see if that works for you. Later on you can decide if you want to use other methods of deployment.

I like Deathmarks for rear-area defense too. Can't quite fit everything in. We just run out of toys, don't we.

Aside - we're usually discussing tournament size lists. I see a few over-2K tournaments, but very few. You guys typically play this size game for fun, though? We're always going, "neh, I wanna try this here out, take another couple hundred points" and end up with closer to 2500pts. (Because we're not playing dozens of tables on a time limit, we're playing one weekend game in a garage whilst bar-b-queing & drinking beer.)

Is sub-2K typical for y'all?

Thanks for your input guys. I will state I am in favour of running a heavy wraith army, as they are one of the best units in the codex. I wanted to make this post to see what other people thought of a Necron army that didn't use or rely on Wraiths. As you have shown there is many options for us to make a viable army at most points levels, at 500 pts it seems the Necrons don't scale that well.

By no means is that list tried-and-true. It was just something that I thought of out of the blue.

The point is, the flying circus involves immortals (or 20 warrior bricks) that can teleport around shooting stuff. It is also lists such as these where I think triarch stalkers work best in, hence I threw in 2 of them. But I guess you can always drop 1 stalker for a 3rd annihilation barge and perhaps more scarabs.

I love the idea behind the list, perhaps try it out The sole issue I'd have is anti-tank, it relies heavily on Immo. But then again... Immo can single handedly win against MSU armies. He makes mechguard and razorspam cry >

Yeah, AT is commonly a problem with many necron builds, especially if you are talking about ranged AT. But actually, AT here isn't too bad. Don't forget you have Zandrehk doling out Tank Hunters to different units, giving S9 lances or heat rays, S8 tesla destructors or S4 scarabs. And most of those shots will/can be twin-linked. If you have to, you can also teleport immortals around to hopefully get S5/6 rear shots on tanks.

It's not the most competitive necron build, but it's actually a pretty fun one IMO.
