Found a warlock hidden in a drawer from sometime two years ago, bare metal, so I'll add him to my painting list.

Update: Since the LR has been deleted I am adding in the Empire War Altar (link to pics soon!) and Empire Steam Tank.

Updated above: I have decided to build the Militia models as archers, with musician and standard, 15 of them anyway...the five with the long, flaring jackets I still don't know what to do with... they might be a good start for creating some more Commissars for my Steel Legion (gratuitous link http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/477288.page )

Mid-month update, not much has been done this week, I was pretty busy with work and I got a bit of a head cold, so I was down and out on Friday and Saturday... I need to figure out a way to get the War Altar primed (it's freezing and snowing here today!). Until then I'll work on the Halbardier Command and Steam Tank.

I just put together a Land Raider Crusader last night and plan to paint it tonight!!

Also...put together and painted a StromTalon for my Astral Claws as well. Ill post more pics tonight.

Here is an update on my progress. First, I completed the command section for my halbardiers

Working on the steam tank, lots of little details really should set this off nicely

and the war altar is primed and ready to start working on. This is a conversion of the old OOP model, been sitting in a box for nine years. It's going to feature a young lady on the altar...a little darker than one might usually expect

Thanks FarseerAndyMan, I believe that I was originally going to use that old war altar as a Chaos chariot, way back in the day...then I actually got my hands on a real one. I found the WA kit when I was digging for some bits, had completely forgotten about it!

We are going to have a massive WFB battle at the FLGS in Jan, so I started digging out everything I could find...now I have a vision for making this into a very interesting conversion. The 3rd-party altar on the plasticard platform is bigger than the original, still not as big as the new model, but the damsel and a claymore will dress it up.

Unfortunately, Christmas took over and I haven't managed much progress past this one, as I had to pack everything away and still can't put it back until the party season is over (I use our dining room table most of the time, as we have a kitchen table)

Painting bulk infantry (any of those standard troops that are all pretty much the same) and basic transports is incredibly tedious.

Painting characters and more unique things is where the fun is at.

I end up painting every model to the best of my ability, so I guess it's my own fault :p definitely agree that characters are more fun, though, since you only have to do one at a time!
