Say, if someone by chance does the same terrainpiece ( for a granted amount of "same"), would it be a smart move to get your act together early to be the first to have his claim on said idea?... My idea is also quite the silly interpretation of the comps theme...

Personally my take is don't worry, just because you may have a similar idea to another scratchbuilder you'll no doubt build it completely differently (unless you are a sock puppet)...

I'd hardly worry about that, I'd think the theme is open enough to allow for very different takes on it. And even similar ideas would surely end up in very different builds once they though each one's personal touch.

On the other hand, I'm childishly eager to see some WIPs, so...

Well I have seen these competitions for a while and always find it cool to see what people make.....now maybe it's my turn to make something.

I have been lacking in the terrain department as of late and maybe I should give this a shot.
I WON'T win but this will give me an excuse to make some terrain and fits sort of into an idea I had on a piece of terrain.

I will get some drawings going and try and work on some stuff this week!

@chiefbigredman: Glad to have brought you out, great to have you on board.

Wining? That's not the point, not at all, it's all just about enjoying the ride! (Not that true, actually: I did win the last Round, and I'm still bursting with pride from it )

Alright here is what I whipped up there last night, I still need to make another tree for the wood and try and make some flames for that firepit.
For metal I'm not sure what I am going to do but maybe an old rusty bridge over the river? Not sure haha



Also it isn't the most functional piece of terrain because of the edges of the foam but maybe I will trim it down so its sloped not sure yet.
My original idea was to have 2 waterfalls on each corner (one waterfall and the other a lava fall) and they meet in the middle but it would have had to be a really huge piece of terrain haha

I am also running into size issues

Size doesn't matter zammerak, it's what you do with it that counts

I am unsure if I want this to be an above ground thing or make it a dark type scene.
It will be for Fantasy and I run Skaven so I might make everything pretty dark and have the trees black and scorched. My painting skills aren't very good so I don't know how that will work haha

I have the idea. The time, OTOH, it is looking iffier. We have another 8" of snow on the ground here. Grrr. I can't do water effects, the epoxy stuff anyway, in the cold. And it smells too much to use indoors. So, it is back to the drawing board for now.
