You say it includes Space Hulk rules, right?

Nope. DW:OK rules for GeneCult. Latest December issue that just hit my doormat.

Ah okay. I misread it as *Space Hulk* rules for the Genestealer cult [that came] in Deathwatch: Overkill.

Thanks again! You've helped me plan my next bit of spending!

If anything sums up the ineptitude of GW these past years, it's this.

One of the best tabletop games of all time, beloved by the community, and by all accounts was flying off the shelves, such was its popularity.

Can you imagine Coca Cola pulling the plug on a successful product*, or any other half-decent company acting this way?

No, neither can I....

Space Hulk returns?

It should never have went away...

*by successful product, I mean something that makes a profit after wages and other material costs have been factored in, before somebody tries to get smart by saying that the company could be selling loads but operating at a loss

Codex Supplement £20
Dice £12.50
Paints £2.55 each x 2

Would it therefore be safe to say that:

Magnus AUD$200
Termies/Sorcs AUD$83
Rubrics AUD$70

[EDIT]: Never mind they're all more expensive than that. $220 for Mags, $98 for the Termies and $84 for the Rubrics. Way to continue fething over Australia, GW.

I'm guessing this will be an unwelcome update. <ducks>

Ever the optimist!
Magnus $220
Termies $98 (same price as £35 Stormcast stuff)
Rubrics $84. (Same price as tau fire warriors)
To avoid consistent depression compare like for like prices.
The prices all come from the war of sigmar blog by the way.
Edit double ninjad. The point about avoiding depression still stands.
Living in Japan I am used to paying double for imports but it must suck if you live in oz or nz.

Well, this is strange. SH returns, BB returns (both should have years ago), GSG appears and now there's a hint of love for Traitor Legions as well..

Now if there only would be a slight price deduction, it would be almost if GW is trying to do it right.

And $77 AUD Tzaangors.

$77 for 2x5 monopose models. Just... wow.

On Topic: Good to see Space Hulk is getting another re-release, though.

Sadly we're 4 from 5, as GW has put stupid prices on these once again.

The Terminators are more expensive than any set of Termies they sell bar the ludicrously overpriced Cataphractii Terminators. These new Terminators are even more expensive than the bundle that comes with 5 Vanilla Termies and the Termy Captain model.

I'll say this again. Wait for the inevitable start collecting box. I agree that launch prices are ridiculous but there is a budget conscious option now unless you absolutely must have something on launch day.

They're the same price as the Blood Angel and Deathwing Terminators.

Or in Japan, in fact I think we are the king of terible prices here. It is a shame because it puts a major damper on an otherwise excellent release.

So, if GW is "forced" to sell stuff for double the price in NZ; how come miniatures from every other UK based company can be bought and sold there for roughly the same price as in the UK?

GW doesn't "hate" AU and NZ. They just think they can get away with charging them more than they anyone else. (maybe they even succeed?, I don't know how they're numbers look in that region)

While Space Hulk coming back (again) is generally a good thing, it does rather lend weight to the sorts of arguments made by people who complained in 2014 about how GW's claim in 2009 that the game was limited release looked rather dishonest with the benefit of hindsight.
('But it's not technically the same because we added boarding torpedoes!' is a pretty weak defence).

Is Space Hulk now a permanent release? I hope so, maybe now they will release some expansion box sets like 1st edition and new races and different types of 'hulk'.

Is the bolded a joke? You do realize that Coca Cola pulled their signature product and replaced it with the beverage equivalent of Age of Sigmar at one point, right?

Yes, it's the government's fault that this one box is somehow more expensive than other similar items.

Good news, really, since Space Hulk is fun and I thought it should have been a general release from the start...but I find it irksome that they originally advertised it as being strictly limited, saying that once the game was gone it was gone and you would never have a chance to get it again, and now they just reprint it whenever they feel like it. I have a really hard time forgiving blatant lies, especially ones that enable sleazy eBay scalping like this one did. Some people made as much as $300 for a box that originally sold for $99...lots of profit being made off of GW's work, that GW themselves never actually saw, because they were too focused on the short-term cash grab.

If, after three editions of the game, you thought Space Hulk was never ever going to be re-released again, I feel like the disappointment is a personal problem, and not "blatant lies" by Games Workshop. They never marketed it as a "Nevur Again Available!" They just said it was a limited run. You're confusing marketing puffery with some kind of devious deception. They ran a limited quantity, and gave no promise of future printings. And they didn't, for almost five years. It's like expecting that you can actually trade Pepsi points for a Harrier jet.

I do agree that Space Hulk should have never been a limited release though. But who knows what their printing and carrying costs were on it at the time. Old GW had a pretty bizarre market strategy at times.

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?

GW ends production on product that had been labeled as "Limited Release". Customers complain about GW ending production on successful product. GW begins second production on said product due to an obvious demand for said product. Customers complain that GW lied about the product being "Limited Release". GW ends second production run and the process starts anew.
