YO DAKKA DAKKA!

Two votes. It's only a bandwagon if you say it is, Manchu. You're going to have to be more clear on your reasons.

Sorry about my absence - I have been on Dakka but otherwise busy writing reviews, keeping appointments and procrastinating IRL. I don't see the problem in letting some of the others talk - there has been plenty enough from and regarding me.
Why wouldn't your 'bandwagon' vote be for Dave? Or Syphonius? You seem overly eager to criticise my comments so far, but I understand if it's just to get a reply out of me.

Unvote: Dastardly Dave
Vote: TherVadam

Any complaints there? TherVadam's statements around the time of my last post were quite strange and suggestive, with no strong logic but assured conclusions. He has publically announced that Dave and VikingScott are innocent, which makes them sound guilty. Maybe that was the plan. Either way, it's not the sort of logic that helps when it just doesn't add up.

I have made efforts to get away from the point that I might have been targetted since the beginning of this phase, but no one seems to be interested in talking about anything else. Manchu has made a point of this. I don't suspect him simply because he has voted for me, but at least people are voting. It gives us something to work with.

Dave and VikingScott saw my request for a shield. It was intended as a bluff so that I would not be night-killed, but I removed it because I wasn't sure about the twilight rule. I made a note of who was online at the time, and this has been consistent with the people who have admitted to seeing it. The other two online were n0t_u and the_ferrett. Go figure. I guessed that Orkeo would be killed last night, but he wasn't, which is sort of a relief for me as I pointed out earlier - it can't be used against me, but I think it would have been the best course of scum action. (Edit: At the time I removed the post had no idea if n0t_u or the_ferrett were innocent, but I was hoping that 1-in-4 would be scum and would 'help' his mates by telling them not to bother lynching me because there was a good chance I'd be shielded, it's slightly sloppy logic but it was a bluff after all, I have no problem with being a distraction).

TherVadam has made some bizarre comments, but that's partially what got the_ferrett killed too and he was innocent. It's still not a great reason to not to lynch him - the_ferrett was being unconstructive, and TherVadam is being falsely constructive.

Manchu has critiqued me a fair bit (I've been talking a bit so I don't blame him for the most part), but he has also let slip a comment about the_ferrett's blood being on my hands, which is odd. I responded to this but he has had nothing further to say on it. I might point out that it took him a lot longer than three days after he said he would to respond to my post... oh wait, he didn't respond at all. He just asked us to imagine that Orkeo and I are scum. Please elaborate in context, Manchu.

We have approximately four days from this post until deadline.

EDIT: Thor, you have the correct names in the list but only one vote in the tally against me when there should be two.

As I said, it's only the beginning of a bandwagon. I voted for you because someone else already had. Two votes were more likely to provoke a response than one. And your post is the proof that my logic in doing so was sound.

As to the_ferret's blood being on your hands--well, it is. You voted from him on the day he died. The context of that statement was that anyone seeking to use this as proof of your guilt should think it over a bit more. In my example from that post, I asked what if Orkeo had been lynched and found innocent. Would my vote for him be evidence of my guilt?

Only scum would have us believe so, to make us too paranoid to vote.

That said, on to your bandwagon:

unvote: A_F

YO DAKKA DAKKA!

I basically admitted in my last post that I was aware of the fact that I would be likely night-killed. Pretty much everyone seemed to be in the same vein of thought this morning. That is the pure reason why I think Orkeo could have been targetted - to take me out the following day because the attention I have drawn to myself would make me the focus in any case. I think it's far less likely it would have been drawn back to you, Manchu, in this case at least. Your vote for him would not be evidence of your guilt - evidence is largely irrelevant - only people who draw attention to themselves are acted towards. 'Quiet player' votes are almost always random.

TherVadam, I don't trust you, but obviously I don't trust Manchu either... it's just as easy for him to vote for anyone he knows isn't on his team -if he is scum. If you both are, it's easy for him to swing his vote around since he has declared himself as a bandwagoner and hence has no fear of anyone else labelling him as such.

Bandwagoning is a legitimate town stratgey.

Like every legitimate town strategy, however, it can be twisted to the purposes of scum.

Scum prefer short, quiet days. The less time town has to deliberate, the better. Likewise, the less town deliberates during that time, the better. Therefore, scum would only get on a bandwagon earlier in the day.

Late day bandwagons are against their interest for two reasons: (1) there is a greater chance the bandwagon target will actually be scum and (2) if scum cannot be sure that town will lynch a townie, they prefer that town simply wastes the day.

One of the most powerful weapons scum have is the taboo against casting the final necessary vote to lynch. On one hand, this hesitation on the part of town plays into the scum strategy of having town waste the day. On the other hand, the final voter provide scum with a likely target for the next day's accusations.

My conclusion is that town should engage in bandwagoning at this late stage in the day. Like it or not, we are better off killing someone than no one. It will take six votes to do it so a pile-up will have to occur at some point.

In the meantime, throwing two or three votes at the quiter folks will get them talking--as I have proven twice now in the examples of Lord of Battles and Artik_Firangi.

I would not encourage sticking anyone with more than three votes at this stage of the day. We are not sure if there are two or three scum. If there are only two then the bandwagon target will be safe with three votes against them. And even if there are three, I doubt all of them will line up at once to nab the kill because of how obvious that would look.

I meant as I was the final vote before and killed two people. If I killed another innocent by being the last vote It may look like I am doing it on purpose.

I am not. And Day1's lynch was a mistake.

OK, so.... I feel the need to explain what I'm trying to do to help town. I find it difficult to peg anybody as guilty, so instead I try to peg people as innocent. However, I find that it would be bad if I just randomly started defending people, which is why I try to explain why I think of people as innocent.

I was telling it to TherVandam.

It seemed an appropriate response. As if he didn't say anything we'd still vote and as he did then we voted.

But it's luck if someone believes you or not/agrees with you.

Very much so, yes...

I feel stupid not to have formed any real suspicions on anyone yet. I'll probably skim through the thread again on monday, maybe earlier, to get a better picture of things (The timer says there are over three days until nightphase, so I'll have time to do this and cast a vote).

It's constructive through the process of elimination? Because if we can slowly eliminate everybody as being innocent, then only the scum will be there.

Anyway, only 2 days left, and at the moment it looks like my lynch. If you guys somehow manage to fail to lynch me, the suspicion would still be there even though I am a space wolf, so we'd have 2 wasted dayphases. I hope something turns this around, but I'd rather we lose a townie then that we lose a townie and a dayphase.

YO DAKKA DAKKA!

I have self-voted as both scum and non-scum. Just thought I'd point that out. I've also offered myself as a lynch for the purposes of providing hard evidence in almost every game I have survived to the later stages of.

TherVadam is not (edit: attempting to) proving anything by self-lynching, and I'm inclined to see it as a bluff.
