I dunno either, when they switched the termies from metal to plastic, they kept the price at $50 for 5. I only have the AOBR termies, just not that interested in Marines myself.

yup...i know that one already... got that one pointed out by shaso and shrike... reminds me a bit of my own current project tho...and tada^^ coincidence...i have a new update ready for you... i think the whole build is doable from scratch pretty well...

I probably could do it all from scratch with styrene card, but I will leave things like that to the masters...I'll stick to elaborate conversions!

Gahhh! You were right El Vic, I looked at the defiler torso a little closer when I got home, and it is not going to work like I planned. The angles of the torso and the shape of cannon area are all wrong, and instead of cutting the heck out of it, I'll just make it from scratch. Now I don't even know if the Sentiel legs are going to work! I'll get a better idea of that when they get here, if not, I'll use them for something I'm sure.

I have made a quick concept sketch, and I think I can do it all from scratch. It'll be a slow project though, so we'll see where this goes!

As soon as I saw the Decimator I wanted to make my own version. While I like the FW one I think it could have been a lot more brutal looking. Im not too sure if the Sentinel legs will work without a lot of bulking up but Im looking forward to seeing what you come up with. The shoulders on the fW one remind me of the Defiler armour plates so those could be a start for your versions upper armour.

I know, right?

BTW, here is my concept sketch of it. This is of course, just the frame-work. Armor plates and wires and hydraulics will also be added.

We refuse to take sides in this anymore. And we refuse to let you turn us against one another. We know who we are now, we can find our own way between order and chaos...

It's over because we've decided it's over. Now get the hell out of our galaxy! Both of you.

I'm not saying it's anything like an original design. But of course it is HEAVILY inspired by the FW Decimator, which in turn looks like it was HEAVILY inspired by Warmachine Warjacks.

The claws are a bit too curved, I've re-drawn them to be a bit straighter, but not as straight as the Decimator, which was one of the only things I didn't like about the model. The other thing is the faces in the armor...just not my thing. I know it's supposed to be possessed by a Demon, but it just doesn't look right. So mine will not have that. The armor will be "cleaner" or as clean as I think a Chaos Vehicle can be.

Who knows if I'll have a chance to work on it the near future, but I'll see what I can do.

it is an intersting project.... one you shouldn´t put to far into the future^^ i hava a soft place in my heart for wlakers^^

will you make that starshaped pattern chaos uses? like one the brim of the CSM shoulderpads?

I don't know. There might be a small Chaos star, but there will definately be large Khorne symbols!

I am thinking I might want to do the build in such a way so that I can make molds to cast copies so I can make multiples, especially with the upper torso, so I can use it in place of my defiler torso! But that will be a pretty complex mold, and I'm not sure I'm up to the task....we'll see if my casting skills improve before I get to that stage.

well...you always have the option to make a multiple part kit... i expect it then to be a bit pricey...but well...whatever suits the job at hand...and at last it is not forbidden to copy GW´s or FW´prices

Hmmmmm. You are right of course...
I'll have to change some of the design then I think so it is a bit less like the FW model.

But still a very large walker.

I'm getting ahead of myself though, let's just wait to see how it comes out!

It might look like gak!

I already have some rivets to show!

I didn't get much time last night, but I did get a start on the walker. This is a mock-up of how tall I am going for, but of course that can change. Right now I think it is significantly taller than the decimator. From what I can tell by pictures, the decimator is about 2 and a half marines tall, and mine is a little over 3 marines tall. Does anyone have a better guess as to how tall this thing should be? By the way, does anyone know how tall a Dread knight is? How about a Knight Titan?

And here is a close-up of the fist and one of the claws (with rivets!):

I don't remember who said it, but they said to open up a water filter, and use the little balls inside as rivets. I don't even remember what thread it was mentioned in, so whoever you are, if you read this, "Thank you!"

They work amazingly well! You just have to drill a bit into the area for the rivet, and set the tiny ball down into the hole with some glue. AWESOME! And they come in a wide variety of sizes! From fairly big, to almost too small to work with, so I can use these on just about anything!

I am going to cast this claw and make copies so I don't have to re-make the claws every time. Because I just know that every one I re-make will be slightly different, and I want them uniform in shape and size.

I'm not sure what I am going to use as ball-joints, maybe marbles? This is going to be a LOT bigger than I had thought.

What is music Dave? The rivets? There will be so many more! Stay tuned!

Thanks Biohazard! Yeah, I'm thinking mine will be taller...Maybe around the height of a short Knight Titan. But I might be able to make it shorter, we'll see.

I am trying to come up with a design that will not necessarily be "demonic" driven, but rather have a pilot. And I might have multiple variants. Some for "War", and "Pestilence", and maybe others of the "Horsemen", if I can come up with concepts. Some might even be non-evil alligned! LIke a Suped-up demon-hunting combat walker or something!

I could even see one of these as a Leman Russ "counts as"!

Too many ideas! I can't concentrate on work!

ok... as far as i can see your build is way smaller than mine... i think i am not far away from the knight size so i think youors should be a good deal around the dreadknight size if i am not too mistaken here...

i like that you are able to stay true to your original concept...something i am always failing to achive... my projects always grow like cancer... no one...not even me knows where they will end up^^...

the basic shoulder concept will keep your project true to the sketch so stick with that... it is a good choice for material i think!

the first claw looks very good... very sharp and techy looking... delivered as promised^^ so i bet the hand will be done shortly... does that piece later on allow you to pose it as you want it? that would be fantastic!

as for the filter balls... i´ve read that long ago too and for that purpose (which i haven´´t yet tested in the slightest) i have opened and collected about four or more fiilter cartridges...a feat not for the faint of heart...IF you want the body of the filter cartridge to be still intact...^^ which i have achieved after many a swearings^^

also i really like your idea about the four horsemen of apocalypse! would love to see these themed walkers from you! in a terry pratchet book (thief of time) there was a fifth horseman even... called ronny soak...aka chaos...

Thanks Vik! I had read that the Knight Titans were between 6 and 9 inches (152mm to 228mm) tall. Mine might be close to 6 inches, but maybe shorter.

Maybe more like a DreadKnight, like you said, from the experimental rules for the Decimator, it does sound like the Choas version of a DreadKnight, so that would make sense.

I'll be somewhat close to the concept drawing, but it will change some. I want the vertical part, running down from the shoulders to be wider, to fit a pilot, and there will be an access hatch on top. The head I am re-thinking. Maybe something closer to a viewing slot on a tank for the "good" variant. The "evil" variants might still be "demonically" driven, if desired, and if so, the head will be more like the concept. And the "corrupted" variant might have a decaying skull with flesh sagging off it.

Ah yes! Octavius's new Medium Steamwalker is a work of art! He has some amazing steampunk stuff!

I can only hope mine turns out half as nice!

I'm working on concepts for the variants, as soon as I get them sorted, an looking decent, I'll post them.

With the variants, I'm hoping to be able to have the base walker, and just have different armor plates, heads and weapons for the variants.
