The fact that they did not post them, perhaps?

The same thing happened previously with the Necron vehicle, which they were dead on with. They obviously have some kind of agreement with GW where they won't release actual photos of the vehicles, but you can expect the models to look almost identical to the drawings if the past examples are anything to go by.

This is why I believe this rumor. I dig the designs from what I can see.

The Ork flyer will be multiple purchases for me, give me a chance to make a small 'Deff Skwadron' homage, and finally get around doing a mob including Killboy.

Ork one is great. I love that nose, it reminds me of soviet fighters.



Necron one is what I think everybody expected, so no problem here.

And SM is great too. At least a proper "space chopper" (apart from ork koptas). A fighter/bomber has no capabilities to assist land troops for a long time. They just pass by spitting fire, and then they go home. Choppers are a good partner to tanks/troops (and also their worst nightmare) because they can stay in the battle. Just give us rules to use missile launcher as moblie SAM stations (Diorama idea: ork stinger/igla/RPG shooting down Storm Talon. Super Six One is down!!).

It would be funny if Orks got separate Fighter and Bomber kits when some other races only have a single kit (Necrons) considering the Orks originally only had a single class of multi-purpose flyer.

BoW announced the existance of at least 3 Ork flyers, which may be sold as one or two kits

The ork flyer looks amazing, however, those rules are absolutely terrible. Talk about useless. They should cost around 40-50pts with those rules. Afraid they will end up over 100pts though :/

The SM flyer is ok, choppers are cool. The rules look very mediocre though.

The SM flyer could with a few modifications make for excellent Infinity / Shadowrun terrain.

The reason BoW posts sketches now is probably that GW didn't like their big Necron leak back when the Necron codex was released, in which they were the first to show the new models. When the Necron Stalker was released, they switched to sketches, most likely to avoid legal problems.

As for the people that say the Stalker sketch was just a rehash of the codex art, if you look at the weapon detail of the Stalker sketch, it shows things that are in the model but aren't in the codex art. Make of that what you want.

Add the hints from other trustworthy rumour mongers such as Harry which were already talking about this trio of flyers coming in June, and hints towards a Ork vs Necrons vs SM battle in the current WD, I think these latest sketches of the SM/Ork/Necron flyers are very credible.

In the current edition, yes, they probably aren't worth their pointcost. However, we don't know how Flyers are going to be implemented in 6th edition (assuming they get their own rules in 6th), which could certainly improve their usefulness and survivability a lot.

It will be one kit that makes all 3.

To me the Stormtalon looks like GW hasn't moved out of its "Storm raven" phase (as in instaed of making a tottaly new chassis the just use the Raven's and dont put too much thought into it)...

My veiw:

GW has only did this so they can break it gently to us, that their going to have another price hike.

Please explain the logic of this, because I see none.

Basicly when GW dose somthig the gamers want, they will stick a price hike on the end.

There are rumors of a price hike this year...

GW are being kind and giving us some info on future releases...

What? They release sketches based on the artwork that Games Workshop themselves release and use as the basis for their models--and it's accurate? Madness!

Sorry. That's a tad bit much in the sarcasm department, but the point still stands.
You don't need an "inside track" to be able to predict that the model will look "almost identical" to its artwork in the Codex.
You don't need an "inside track" to be able to predict that there will likely be a Space Marine Gunship called the Stormtalon either, since Games Workshop has rather predictable naming trends and will likely not miss an opportunity to make a vehicle using the Stormraven parts as the basis--especially considering that the Storm Eagle is doing exceedingly well for Forge World.
You don't need an "inside track" to be able to predict that we will see a big release around the same time as the next edition of 40k.

This is speculation on your part.

For my own part, I sincerely disbelieve that they have "some kind of agreement with GW". Why? It would be dumb of GW to have an agreement with them, simply because the information blackout is still in effect courtesy of "The Hobbit" and any kind of "agreement" like that would have to be cleared by New Line.

All seriousness, d-usa is right. Until we see what 6th brings to the game dynamic, we can not really predict what flyers will bring to the table.

personally 6th ed will have a whole section on flyers IMHO since they have done tanks and monsters...

I guess I'm curious why there's been no rules for fliers until now (assuming 6th will indeed accomodate them) if they could add much to the game.

The best I can see is that they will be heavily armed, difficult to hit, lightly armoured vehicles... kind of like skimmers... which already exist

Not necessarily.

You can make a fairly accurate sketch of what a Space Marine vehicle will look like based upon a previously established aesthetic.
