My experience with Conquest is that my credit card gets billed around about the last Thursday or Friday of the month, with the corresponding delivery arriving a week to 10 days later. Don't know if that's just to do with when I subscribed, though.

Potentially yeah it’s the date you chose, I received mine like a day or two after billing.
Also doesn’t help for the first delivery knowing, as there’s no charge for this one.
I’ll just wait and see what arrives or what updates people post here

Whats the long term availability of these in shops like?
There were loads of issue 1 on sale in the local magazine shop, but do they generally continue to stock each issue as they come out?
I'm not interested at all in the Stormcast so don't want a sub, but if I can get my hands on the nighthaunt and scenery that would be a bonus.

Issues 1 - 4 will be in most shops including GW stores.
After that, it's pot luck.
My hometown WH Smiths has had every issue of Conquest in, but I've never noticed them in other Smiths around the country.
After that, if you don't want the whole sub, look up Mortal Realms on Forbidden Planet. They will show the covers several months in advance so you can pick and choose the issues you want plus they charge £7.49 per issue (at least they do for Conquest).
Enjoy!

Chances are only stores that are selling off the shelf really well will get them. Those where they aren't selling much might not get any.
It might also be based on local subscriptions. If your local has no subscriptions then it might not get any stock even if all the copies sold off the shelf.

IIRC issues 1-4 are "sale or return", 5+ are "firm sale" so most newsagents won't carry it without it being ordered. depending on who their supplier is they may be able to get singles but easier to just order them from the likes of Forbidden Planet.
picked up three of issue 2 today, I wanted a pair and Mrs L asked for an extra one.
forgot how terrible those "starter brushes" are, not helped when whoever put the cap on bent half the bristles backwards on two of them.
still decent for painting base rims etc

I just use the starter brushes for texture paints and base coating lol.
Rather not use a good brush on stirrland mud.

tend to use cocktail sticks and a sculpting tool for that, but I think thats how two of the ones from Conquest ended up, the other two went to the sons of a friend, those brushes could only dream of being used for texture paints

I have picked up two copies of issue 2 at my local Tesco, and noticed they're well stocked both at this store and another, (Hornchurch and West Thurrock)
Have also done the elite subscription but not received this yet.
Will also chime in that these starter brushes are no good, but perfect for my two year old who can practice on the stormcast.

I've been playing a while, my first model was a lead marine and my first White Dwarf was bound with staples |

The lady at my WH Smiths thinks the return date for unsold issue one copies is round about the 5th Feb (otherwise they'll be charged for them),
so there's still time to grab them, but they will be going in the near future so don't miss out

I feel like my soon to be three year old would be no good at the hobby yet.
Two seems insane

I am unfortunate enough to work in retail and picked up 5 copies of issue 1 this morning after the magazine lady was packing them up ready for return. Add that to my previous 2, my one due from the subscription and that is 2 hefty blocks of 40 Chainrasps.
Also really enjoyed building the issue 2 Banshees today. They need the pegs trimming for a snug fit, can see these ladies being troublesome to those new to the hobby though.
The Facebook group for the partwork is hilarious though, basically a lot of people bemused by the lack of delivery thus far and bemoaning the customer service. Best to just sit back and wait.

got a few here, found on a few of the ETB models adding a bit of liquid poly to both sides of the join and waiting a few seconds softens the plastic and makes assembly a heck of a lot easier.
still waiting here, seems Hachette is changing who does customer service (thankfully, the South African call centre had a truly terrible line to it) and moving warehouse which may explain some of the details (Conquest subscriptions not sent out either)

I've suggested people trim the nubs down a bit(if not remove them entirely!) after experience with the Underworlds stuff. It seems to make things go waaaaaay better.

So issue 6 is the Briar gang.
Is that the Underworlds warband?
And if so, does anyone know, what else is needed to play, just the deck to go with it? Assuming I find someone who has the board and rules etc

I'd ordered 3 copies of issue 2 from forbidden planet and they arrived today. One brush had a cap (that wasn't on), the other two didn't have caps, and the bottom end of one brush was snapped but an extra part snapped off the bottom of another brush was included with it Glad I didn't buy them for the brushes! The sprues were fine thankfully.

As far as I can tell, yes. And I think so?

Issue 3 is in the smaller packing without the backing card which is good as the card just wasted anyway

I still haven't had the first subscription delivery. Is that typical? I know there was that email about delays for most Hatchette products.

I think the Conquest one arrived for me about the same time as issue 4 hit stores. But then i've still not had Jan's Conquest or 2000ad.
Conquest doesn't show on the sub page as having been billled and 2000ad shows the 3rd but then i've had delay emails for both subs and Mortal.

Yeah mine was around 4 I think.
I never received the delays email for MR.
And it shows 14/1 next to the issues.
As to whether that means on the way or not, who knows..

That’s the case with all their stuff.
The big board is just to get the better visibility.

Yeah very true.
I’m very torn with what to do on this Sub. I was decided on just dropping after the second delivery (so would have 1-6), as I don’t need/want more terrain or any of the paints etc.
So less worth it for the sub cost.
Would give me some models to try out Warcry with (though with Bloodbound coming that’s solved, as they are my only round bases fantasy models).
No AoS players about so no need to do a full army collection there..

Email received today regarding billing details needing updating to continue with Sub.
Says you should soon be receiving 1,2,Kit free of charge.
But then the link to do the details.
I’m hoping they have sent that first delivery already and aren’t waiting on my payment details, which are t necessary till a months time..

Still waiting here, nice to know they are actually managing to send the things out at last though.
guessing the brush is bent to show you its crap and as a warning not to try and use it.
billing date of the 14th, mine was zero but Mrs L's was the cost of one issue, neither set have arrived yet multiple weeks later. Conquest was usually about a week post billing.
something of a farcical launch this so far

These starter brushes are one of those things that make me wonder why the company even bothers making them. Much like the hand dryers that are less effective than breathing on your own hands, as far as I can tell, these brushes are a total waste of materials, resources, time and money.

They’re kinda multi-purpose, so useful for teaching the three basic techniques without needing additional brushes.
Also handy for mucky jobs, like texture paint where you don’t mind messing the brush up a bit.

Yeah I do not hate free brushes. I own a fairly decent range of Windsor & Newton No. 7s but I reach for the free Citadel ones pretty regularly when I don't have to worry about being super neat.
