So I finally summoned the courage to make one of these threads, hopefully you guys will help inspire me and give me advice and feedback on how to improve my painting and stuff.
Without delay, on to the concept:
I've always been a fan of the whole fall of the Eldar 40k background and liked the storytelling ability that large dioramas have, with this in mind I set out to recreate some of my interest in the eldar fluff with a little diorama of my own.
Im not really new to painting figs, but not exactly experienced. I do think Im beginning to improve though, so hopefully you can help me on my way.
For the Diorama I went for a clash of the titans type battle between a Keeper of Secrets and an Avatar, in a wrecked Eldar craftworld/cityscape.
So far the KoS is partly done, and the diorama needs primed. The Avatar has been cleaned up and filed mostly, but is in parts still.
Pictures!
Ignoring the normal Slaaneshi colours, mainly because I don't have them to hand, I went with this icy skin tone, stuff is still wip, like eyes, jewlery and other little things.
First try at NMM on the Blade, Tell me how you think it came out. Looks okish to me, but still a little crude.
more pix
moar...
and the mugshot...
Onto the Wip Diorama:
From ground level.
Eldar Glyphs on a shattered construct thingy
Another broken construct
rubble, note the badly painted Jetbike. Now to be primed and put to worthier causes!
A random sword pokes out here...
Ok thats all I have for now, I am to keep you guys posted as a finish of the nmm on the KoS 's jewelry and other details, and as I progress through the Diorama and onto the Avatar.
Thanks for reading this far!
Trilobite.

Looks promising!
I like the Eldar glyphs and the NMM does look a bit crude, but more in a good, antique kind of way, which fits the model.
I'm watching this. ; )

Cheesy grin

In other news, the Eldar have a champion!
No more progress made on the diorama itself as I havent been able to go get more chaos Black to prime the thing.

*Necromancy*
Its been a while but inspiration hit along with boredom to encourage me to continue work on the project.
Here are the fruits of my labour:
ooh swirrlyy
good/bad/decent? freehand shenanigans
Some more...
Now with cluttered desk..
So I really had no idea what the Eldar would pave the craftworld floor with. I started off thinking that a nice red with some darker blended swirls would look nice.
Then, on a whim I began to experiment with hawk turquoise and a wandering mind, resulting in the swirly thing in the middle. Looking at it now, it all seems a bit psychedelic and creepy, but I like it!
Tell me what you guys think.
P.s: This ought to be updated a bit quicker now due to renewed interest as well as having more free time, so look forward to that.
p.p.s: I got into Uni last week to do Geology so go me!

@ Indiana: I suppose you could look at the two white lines as engaging in a struggle of some sort, if thats what you meant, nice idea!

Ok, so I have a rather large confession to make.
That is that the project has been finished without the Avatar being a part of it.
This is for a number of reasons, the foremost being that I royally screwed up his paintjob, not watering down paints enough and losing some of his really nice detailing.
Normally I would have just whipped out the nail polish remover and got busy with a toothbrush, but I decided when I lined up the two combatants that the whole thing looked a bit two busy. As well as this I was anxious to get working on the Constructs and finish the whole thing.
So the Avatar got tossed on my pile of shame along with other failed/ruined models.
I guess this means that Slaanesh has truly triumphed and has free reign in his destruction of this particular craftworld.
Pics!:
The triumphant Keeper stands amidst the destruction of the craftworld, seeking more targets for his blade.
Bit Blurry, but you get a good view of the try at Marbling on the construct
Overhead view, I decided on Ulthwe, as you can see from the jetbike.
Taking a Swing at whatever takes his fancy.
A look at the OSL glyphs. I am quite happy with how these came out.
So its finally finished! I am actually not too bothered that the Avatar didnt make it in the end. This way some of the detail in the scenery is a bit more obvious.
All thats left now is to somehow strengthen the base for the whole thing as Plasterboard is less than sturdy!
Comments/feedback on the finished project are very welcome, as I cant improve without the insight of others.
Thanks for reading,
Trilobite.
