They try to clean up posts that are of topic and quote pyramids to keep down the costs of running the website. I for one enjoy being able to come on here for free to discuss things with others. However, there do also have to be limits to what is dicussed within the remit of the website, so that whoever is footing the bill (the admins) doesn't take a hit to the wallet.
Also, if you have a problem with the mods this is not the place to take it up. PM them or something. Here is not the appropriate place.

Now people listen to me please. I dont want to get banned, I dont want this thread locked and I surely do not want to make Killy sad! I just believe we should have a say in what is and what is not acceptable in our own threads. Sure we follow general rules but if we want to buid a thread for a specific purpose and no one is complaining, harmed, offended insulted, hurt, killed or maimed, everyone is enjoying themselves, staying civil, polite, and being generaly friendly with one another, I see no reason for Mod involvement. Otherwise it seems like an unwarented flex of their muscle and oppresive. People come to these website to share a common interest and ideas and general comaradery and overall that purpose is greatly achieved but there are some instances when administrative intervention disrupts this goal (happens alot on this thread) and makes this site much less desirable. People its ok to have an opinion and share. As long as we state it tastefully and tactfully, we shouldn't have to be afraid of Mod retaliation.
Dakka has standards of quality. Should we be allowed to make threads that talk about how great Nazis are how we love KKK? Those are extreme examples, but staying civil with each other does not necessarily mean that it is appropriate
