Probably the only video games would be for the people of the aristocracy. Mainly because of the lost tech. for the most part kids in the habs would play street games and outdoors type i would think. seeing as they would not be able to afford anyone to come take care of the machines for them. but i would assume there would be something for the rich kids and it would have to do with holograms. that seems to be a going thing in the 40k universe.

.....Nothing we'd recognize as a video game most likely. They won't be playing Call of Duty: 233212 or Halo: Planet 7391-C if that's what you're asking about. Remember, the Imperium is essentially a medieval society. Most of the 'kids' would be people like Tona Criid, desperately trying to get enough food so she doesn't starve to death, and being loyal to a gang so she doesn't get murdered randomly on a street.
The luckiest children, those born to elite families wouldn't be spending their time playing video games. They would be spending their time going to school to be educated about how to be heads of Guilds, leaders of a planet, and all kinds of other things to learn about how to live. If they were in the Scholam....well then they'd be filled with loyalty to the Emperor so they can become Commissars, Storm Troopers, or Inquisitors. No time for video games.
If I recall, there was a very nice picture out there of children playing on the wreck of an Imperial Titan...I'll see if I can find it.

Not mostly war and a bit of Halo 4 (yes they would take 32,000 years to make the next one )

Despite the cries of "omg grimdark noooo!", it depends entirely on the planet you're asking about. Even hiveworlds have SOME forms of entertainment (often in the form of bars and brothels, but still).
People have to be entertained somehow, why not entertain them by letting them pretend they're killing the Emperor's enemies? And that's more than likely what they'd be about. Being a Guardsman going around killing hilarious mis-characterizations of Orks.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

I've always imagined tau kids playing a yu-gi-oh/pokemon styled games with giant battlefields, holographic representations of monsters, and all the other junk in those shows, and other random crap like MMO's with 15,000,000,000 subscribers.
There has to be some sort of trading/exploration sim genre like we got now. Also for some reason I keep imagining tau kids being huge nintendo fanboys...
In general I think the tau are probably the only place you'd find anything, and maybe dark eldar because vidja gaemz feels good man
I forgot to add endless amounts of hentai games because you know...tau=otaku, though I'm sure deldar find all that stuff great as well

We know there's porn and movies in the 40K verse to entertain people, so why not games?
Most games would probably be similar to the ones we have today; an Imperial influence would range from marginal to all-consuming, depending on the manufacturer.
Pornographic games and movies would probably be popular among rank-and-file Imperial citizens, Slaneeshi cultists, and Deldar. Tau and Eldar are too devoted to duty, the rest of the Imperium is too crazy, and the Orks don't understand the appeal of two humies touching each other without krumpin skullz.

Being a militaristic society, maybe they encourage airsoft or laser tag-like games to prepare kids for military duty?

I'm pretty sure they'd be fighting for survival in any of the millions of planets, scraping by... if you weren't scooped up to build weapons or be in the imperial armies. Honestly, it seems more like everyone just trains, drinks, and plays cards... like military guys do on TDY
