Anyway, the recent batch of Inquisitors have been fantastic. I have to say though that as good as yours is, migs, it appears that you've left so little of the original miniature that it would almost be the kind've thing I'd disqualify.

Again, I say it appears that way - and appearances can be deceiving.

Please don't take what I said as a slight against your mini there migs. What you've made is great - everything you make is great. It just looks like... a mostly different model.

Please prove me wrong.

Migs did replace many parts of the original miniature, but he did so with good reason.
Firstly the rules state, that you should use at least some core elements of the original mini, not that you must use the complete thing minus some details. He used the legs, the lower arms and hands and the sword, seems allright to me.
Also the chaos sorcerer offers only so many ways to convert him. I like all the conversions of the mini, but the main difference between them is the use of slightly different bitz and the idea what it depicts. The moods and poses are mostly the same.
By using a completely different torso Migs inquisitor is set apart from the original and that's a good thing to me.

I know what you're meaning though, I refrained from replacing too many core elements on my conversion and only gave her new arms, because I want to use as much of the original model as possible and only then blow people away with how different it looks. Both approaches are legitimate and have their dis/advantages. It's a matter of taste and vision. Do what you feel is right.

I've finally got my model, I chose the Chaos Sorcerer (top left in the first picture of the thread)

It appears to be a nice challenge for me to convert it to a wierdboy, put my greenstuffing skills to the test.

@Killamop: I can't wait to see the weird boy!

He is most definitely wierd, getting the proportions right is going to be a challenge. I'm determined to keep those roped legs on the sorcerer for the wierd boy, but it will be a challenge to bulk it out.

Roughly 90% finished, some cleanup and some detailling, that's it. (More like 33% considering I still have to finish her puppy and her base )

Hmm. I dunno, I still can't bypass the gorilla arms. It's a nice miniature no mistake, but the hands seem huge compared to the feet. The left arm around the shoulder area doesn't seem to be completely meshed onto the miniature from this angle. I do really like the rifle she's wielding, it's very classy, and what I've come to expect from your miniatures, but the butt of the gun is quite plain. I'm sure you'll remedy that in the detailing you still have to do.

Overall though, very nice!

Thank you, erm he is loyalist, I am using him as a Primaris Psyker. (he will have a more impressive base to make him stand out...). He looks even better with paint on too.

@Ghosty: The hands to big? Must be the angle or something, I really don't see that.

@Morathi: His belly is upside down, looks a bit strange with the belly button up there, are you going to cover the area anyway?

Hammer is back!! That model looks so promising mate - having heard some of your plans, I'm checking the forums like a simpleton for new pics. HURRY!

Final update - 95% done before tidy-up and painting.



Pretty much all original components except for the sword, holster, left arm and some guard issue boots.

@ Hammer - Nice mini! I like that weapon she's holding... looks like a short double-ended scimitar. Can't wait to see her finished!

@ Not Prop - Something about your Necro-conversion... a really nice utilization mini. You changed the overall shape of the original from cringing and frail into something more dynamic. Old skool looks effin' mean with that chainsword. Oh yea, and the hair/beard -
