Aye, going to have to start moving, and get the model finished asap. Good timing for me mind, I have five days off next week, so if need be I can steamroller through.

I have sorted the upsidedown mid section, and shortened her legs slightly, she was way too tall. Still going to be slightly taller than other Dark Eldar, but I wanted her slightly taller anyways, plus she is standing perfectly straight, where most other Dark Eldar have a bit of a crouch on.

Once Green stuffed and ready for painting, I'll get another pic on here.

Just need to base mine now and write some fluff, although I have ideas forming for that already...

Well, I have a concept, now I just need the model...

I was going to whine about the fact that my can of primer had gone missing until I saw Baiyuan post in the other thread. I've gone old skool and painted a couple of thin coats of foundation as an undercoat, the possibility of paint rubbing off in places is nothing compared to the can of basing sand that almost ruined his model!

So far it hasn't caused me any problems and I've managed to put some base colour and a couple of washes down just so I know what's going where.
Away on holiday at the end of next week and back on the 3rd so really I've got about 5 hours of hobby time over the next week to get him finished and make/paint a base and get the pics up.

So if spray primer sales go down on an international level we all know whose fault it is.
Don't blame the primer, I primed several miniatures with that can of primer and my only complaint was that the paint output was too high and it was easy to drown the miniature. My accident was mainly my fault: Surroundings were too hot and too dry and I applied some very short blows of paint directly onto the mini.
A lesson in "don't forget the 101 of priming".

Well, gave him a bigger base, THEN saw the way his cloak moved and thought "Instead of summoning a monster, maybe he is mid-way between a pychic power/spell"

Hammer, great progress man! Such characterful model in the works. Keeping the head from us adds a lot of suspense. Will there be a retinue perhaps?

@notprop - Great work! You've made substantial changes and turned him into something new entirely without losing the character of the original model. The aquilla necklace in particular is a highlight - very dynamic! Looking forward to the paint

@Col Hammer - Yours is frustrating me. It looks really good, to the point that I would be very interested in details, but the pictures are too bloody dark to see anything! Looking forward to progress, anyway.

@Matt.Kingsley - I vote hand over tentacle. And nice idea with the fire! Will look great if you pull it off

Heeeeyyy, I finally got around to working on mine! Huzzah.

Ended up being a Uriah Jacobus conversion out of the necromancer, with bitz from a bunch of other kits. Not quite done yet, but here's what I've got so far.




All the goop is poster tac to hold things together while I take the picture. I'll be fixing the worst of the hunchiness before painting.

And of course the Redeemer.

Though, if still not glued & you have the parts, a Flagellant head would match the original model/concept better IMHO... There are a few looneys head in that kit that would fit perfectly!

@Zefig: Not the first cadian flamer to shotgun conversion I've seen, but the most convincing. Did you consider removing the manometer?

Haha, thanks. I had not. I am now. Thanks for that. I hadn't really been paying that much attention to it.

My other thought is to just label it "kill-o-meter" when I paint it.

There are certainly a lot of good pieces in that kit, from what I've seen, but I don't currently have one. I might check and see if one of the local stores has one in stock. We'll see though. I might just sculpt some crazier hair onto the top of his head once it's all glued in.

Moody walked into the Command centre and immediately felt the worse for it. His spine tingled and the room was a dank, rotten cold. Freezing, in fact. His augmetic arm already had frost forming along it. He growled under his breath "Psyker Witchcraft!" Shivering and cursing, he continued into the dimly lit chamber.

Clustered around the glowing hololith of the capital city, were a number of figures, although none of them seemed to be any happier about the temperature. Moddy nodded stiffly to his fellows and bowed to the Militant Lor- General Dernbac,. "M'lord, you summoned me?"
"Yes Sargeant. I have a...special briefing for you" he replied haughtily, gesturing into the shadows to his right. Moody became aware of a rasping breath emanating out from the shadows. Masked by the unmistakeable sound of a respirator. A figure shuffled out from the shadows, pal, old and decrepid. His face was mostly covered by a respirator and his one good eye looked drowsy, his other a milky white, tinged disturbingly red. Bile came into Moody's mouth and he almost retched, but held his composure. "This is Hadouir Alyr. As you may have guessed he is a Psyker."
A prick at Moody's conscience made Moody put his hand out, meeting Alyr's. Moody hadn't even noticed it was there. A voice as laboured as the breathing eminated from him. "No need to not heed manners Sargeant." Moody snorted to hide his surprise. Alyr's grip was strong, and completely at odds with his appearance. It had a surety that can only come from knowledge and restrained power. Alyr became to make a horrible retching noise and Moody realised it was laughter. He stiffened in the knowledge that the psyker had reached into his mind once again.
"Moody, you are to escort Hadouir into battle..." Moody made to object but Dernbach waved away his protests. "I won't hear any of it Sargeant. Your squad has the lowest attrition rate in the whole company. And I intend to make sure Hadouir get's where he is needed. If anything he should bolster your sqaud."
"But sir. He's a psyker. A witch! The boys won't be willing to travel with it." The wheezing continued from behind him. "Besides, he'd be safer with your bodyguard."
"You know that's not true Moody. And don't make me order you."
Moody felt a hand on his augmetic arm, and the frost began to spread, rapidly. Leave it Moody, you do not want me as an enemy Moody shook his head to get the voice out.
"He's right Sargeant." spoke Dernbach, and Moody guessed that Alyr had projected that last sentence to everyone. "Right now, this man is possibly the strongest on the whole planet."
Lost for words, and still reeling from the psykic pressure on his mind, Moody threw a quick salute and stormed out from the room. Behind him, Hadouir Alyr began his slow, shuffling excuse for a walk after him.
